Chapter 3

Maggo Mountainous Area - South of Nanaz Village. 15 minutes before the wind orb appeared.

A group of horse driven carriage were marching along the roads in the mountain. The carriage driver and people inside all wore full body silver armor. On their armor were emblem of white blade tiger, an emblem belongs to the royal family of Fruth Kingdom. They were all knights of the royal family.

"Your Highness, if we keep heading north, in around 3 hours we will reach a small village," said the knight driving the beautiful silver carriage.

"Village? There is a village north of here?" asked Roland.

Roland is the one of the princes of Fruth Kingdom. He is not as popular as the other princes and princesses but he gets lots of respect especially from his subordinate due to his personality. He is caring and compassionate towards people around him.

"Yes, Your Highness. Nanaz Village. That is the village name," answered the knight.

"Nanaz?"

"Yes. Apparently most of the villagers are farmers and their main produce are nanaz fruit. I visit the village a long time ago and it is a beautiful and peaceful village. All the villagers are nice and friendly too," said the knight while smiling.

"They choose a sweet name for their village," said Roland while laughing.

Other than its uses in restoring hp, nanaz fruits is also well known for its sweetness. Nanaz fruit might be a magic fruit but it is not as expensive as other types of magic fruits. People also commonly eats nanaz fruit as dessert.

"Since you compliment the village so much, let's stay there for a few days and we can celebrate our success for this mission there," said Roland.

Roland and his knights were on their way back to the capital city, Eplia City after finishing their mission. A new dungeon appeared three months ago in Orageo Forest which was east of Maggo Mountainous Area. Their mission was to investigate the dungeon. They need to find out how many floors in the dungeon, what monsters occupying the dungeon, the boss of each floor, mapping the dungeon and many more. They finished investigating everything in two months.

They were going to continue talking when suddenly monsters in the forest becomes restless. They stopped their carriage and ready for battle and out of nowhere "screech!!!!" a loud screeching sound reach them.

"What? Monsters' screech?" said one knight.

"It doesn't sound like a monster. It comes from north," added another knight.

"North? The village?" said Roland. His eyes suddenly wide open because he can feel a strong magical energy coming from north of them.

"I'm going. All Rank 2 knights will follow me. Rank 1 knights will stay with the carriage and bring the carriage there as fast as possible," ordered Roland

"Yes, Your Highness!" all knights answered.

Roland then run towards Nanaz Village at full speed.

Nanaz Village

Monsters flooding out of the magic circle without stopping. The monsters ranging from Rank 5 to Rank 8. The monsters rampaging all over the village. The villagers were killed and eaten one by one by the monsters. Every time a villager was killed, a white energy came out of them and enter the wind orb.

"The orb reach its limit already? I guess the lowest grade only capable of this much," disappointed, the black robe man vanished.

Ethan saw everything and froze due to fear. From far, he saw everyone were killed, his dad was stabbed and ate by a bear monster with its claw like swords and his mom was incinerated by a lion with its body cladded in fire. He then caught attention of another monster, a golem made with molten steel. The golem run towards Ethan but due to its heavy body he was slowed.

"Mom… dad…" Ethan called out to his parents.

"Mom~ dad~" his voice start shaking.

{"Ethan, how come you always happy?" said a villager}

{"I hope my son will smile a lot when he grows up, just like you Ethan," said his neighbor who just giving birth to a son}

{"Ethan, eat this a lot and you will grow up strong"}

"Mom~~"

{"Ethan, I guarantee you will love this book"}

"Dad~"

"Mo... hic da… hic" tears started flowing out of Ethan's eyes. Ethan who was always smiling was crying. Even when Ethan accidently cut his hands before, he always smiled though his tears still comes out.

"Hic hic mom dad…"

"Eliya…" Ethan paused and he suddenly realize his sister is still in their house. Eliya is still alive.

"That's right! ELIYA!!!" Ethan looked towards his house and it was still fine.

Ethan rush towards his house to save Eliya. He endured the pain from the injury he got earlier and kept running. While running he kept praying in his heart 'please, please, please'. 'A few more meters, please' he was in front of his house and "ROAR!!!" crash!! Something crashed his house. Ethan was blown back by the impact. Ethan was rolling on the ground.

Ethan lying face down motionless. His finger moved and he tried to get up. He managed to lift his head and saw his house. His house was gone. A gorilla monster was on top of the rubble.

"Eliya."

"ROAR!!!" The gorilla monster attacked Ethan. Ethan did not run away. He can't move. While his eyes overflow with tears, he closed his eyes and wanted everything to end. He gave up and then fainted. The gorilla monster clenched its fist while on air and strike Ethan.

"Sword Arts – Multiple Slash!" multiple slash strikes the gorilla monster and blown it away from Ethan. Roland barely reached the village and saw Ethan running towards his house. Then, he rushed to rescue Ethan. Ethan, however did not react to that.

"Hey kid, I will bring you out of here. Don't die now," said Roland while trying to lift Ethan up. Roland was heavily injured. Before he reached Ethan, he encountered lots of monster. He failed to kill and even damage any of them because the monsters outrank him too much.

The gorilla monster stands up and it was unharmed. The attack was not strong enough to damage the gorilla because Roland was only Rank 3 while the gorilla was Rank 5. The gorilla monster got mad due to the attack and rushed to kill Roland. Multiple elemental magic attacks strike the gorilla and again the gorilla was pushed back.

The other knights arrive at Roland side but their conditions were bad. The monsters that appear there were too strong. Many of the knights already lost their lives. When Roland and the knights reached Nanaz Village, looking at the situation, Roland gave orders to rescue the survivors and retreat.

However, everything was impossible now. Roland already lost many of his knights. He was heavily injured and the monster already surround them and blocked them from running away.

"Let's retreat," said Roland.

"How?" asked one of the knights.

"With this. I regret not using this earlier. If I use this earlier, we won't lose any of our comrade. We can even rescue some of the villager," he pulled out a transparent gem. At the center of the gem a white light and indigo light reside.

"The warm Light and the boundless Space, Emergency Gem activates!"

The white and indigo light inside the gem collide and shone brightly all over Nanaz Village. The light dissipated and only the monsters left there.
