Chapter 9

It's been a week since Ethan awakened his power. He has been training every day at the prairie for the past one week. He still hunting for baby slime. He didn't want to take a risk fighting stronger monster. He's been collecting lots of high quality slime fluid and slime core. Modo bought all the materials from Ethan and Ethan has been collecting lots of gold but still not enough to buy a new skill.

Ethan's current stats excluding equipment.

HP - 10 / MP - 9 / STR - 10 / END - 10 / INT - 10 / WIS - 10 / AGI – 9

One more stat points for MP and AGI and Ethan can advance to level 2. He's been fighting lots of baby slime for the past week, but his stats didn't increase as much as the first time he fought the baby slime. Other than battling, stats can also be increased through training. Ethan only hunting during daytime. At night, he stays at home and read books. His INT was the first to reach the limit. Due to losing most of his knowledge, Ethan need to gain all that knowledge back, so, he bought a lot of books.

"Let's hunt more baby slime today, I'm going to max my stats and advance to level 2 today," said Ethan excitedly.

With his stats increased a lot, Ethan didn't have much problem killing a baby slime. He wants to try fighting a normal slime but he decided to wait until he reach level 2.

"That's baby slime number 23 for today,"

'Ting~ gain 2 HP points. The points can't be added to HP stats due to special skill Limiter. The extra stats will be transfer to MP and AGI. MP and AGI stats increased to 10. Congratulations, you advance to level 2.

"Nice~ I'm now level 2"

'Ting~ Choose your drops 1. Slime Fluid (C grade) 2. Slime Core (A grade) 3. Skill Null: Tackle'

"!!! Skill drop!! Yes, I can sell it and buy new skill," said Ethan excitedly. "It's still early to stop hunting, I'll start hunting normal slime and sell all the materials later"

A few hours later, 3.00pm

"… … …" Ethan fell silent. "10 skill drop. What kind of luck is this? This never happen with baby slime. Could it be that they are babies so skill drop is harder to get?"

Ethan killed over a hundreds of normal slimes and he managed to get 10 skill drop. He was dumbfounded and not sure if he should sell all the skill or only some of them. Ethan decide to stop hunting and went back to the city. Because normal slime was stronger than baby slime, Ethan advance to level 3.

Modo Shop

"Thank you for selling all these high quality materials again Sir Ethan," said Camila. Camila was the lady that serve Ethan when he first came to Modo. She was ordered to be in charge of everything Ethan brought to Modo.

"Camila, can I see Sir Haruto right now? I have something I need to ask him," asked Ethan

"Sure, I'll lead the way,"

Haruto's Office

"And, what is it you want to ask me?" asked Haruto.

"Do you buy skills too?" asked Ethan.

"So, your drops special skills include skill drop too," said Haruto.

Ethan was not surprised that Haruto knew about the special skills. He had deduced it before that Haruto knew about it, if not, why would he made a deal with a newbie like Ethan.

"How many do you have?" asked Haruto.

"I have 8 skills with me. All Null: Tackle that I got from killing slimes," said Ethan.

"Phew~ that's a lot for a one days hunting," said Haruto while laughing. "Sorry Ethan, I only buy and sell materials not skills, but if you want I can help you sell the skills. It's too dangerous if you hold too many skills with you. You are still too weak,"

"Then I will need to rely on you for this. Thank you, Sir Haruto," said Ethan politely.

"There is no need for sir, just Haruto is fine. We can be considering as business partner after all," Haruto smile.

"While you sell all this skills, can you also buy me some skills?" asked Ethan.

"What skills do you want?"

"Appraisal: skill, weapon, armor, accessories," said Ethan.

"Hmm~ I think you can get only two of them. Appraisal is really expensive," said Haruto.

"Then I want appraisal skill and weapon,"

"Come again tomorrow, I'll get them for you,"

"Thank you, S- Haruto,"

Ethan left the office and went home. He decided to rest because tomorrow, there will be lots of thing he wanted to try after he get the appraisal skills.

The next day.

Ethan went to Modo and receive the skills. He went back home again to try the skills. Once at home, he sat on his bed and Gooey sat beside him. Gooey were okay now. He knows that Ethan was stronger than before.

"Let's try Fusion: Skills and see what happen," Ethan took deep breaths. He was nervous because he didn't know if it will work.

He held both the appraisal skills on each hand and said "Fusion: Skills"

He waited for a bit but nothing happened. "Huh? It's not working?"

Suddenly 'Ting~ 2 possible fusions. Appraisal: Skills and Appraisal: Weapon. Null: Tackle and Null: Tackle. Which pair do you want to fuse? Warning: Fusion: Skills can only be used once per month.'

"I choose Appraisal: Skills and Appraisal: Weapon," Ethan answered.

Suddenly the 2 skills shone and merge to one, 'Ting~ Fusion: Skills successful. New skills Appraisal: Skills, Weapon created'

"So, when two skills from the same group fuse, they will stack and you won't waste anymore skill slot. So when I learn a new appraisal in the future, I can fuse it with the appraisal I already learn to not wasting more skill slot. This is really useful though I can only use it once per month. "Now that I have test these two special skills, Fusion: Monster is next," Ethan become excited and looked at Gooey who sat beside him this whole time. Ethan stared at Gooey and Gooey stared Ethan back.

"I'm sorry Gooey, I can't take you yet. After I increase my tame skill grade, I will immediately tame you," said Ethan to Gooey.

"Now, It's time for me to find some animals to tame."
