My only sunshine

'Summer is coming soon.' Yue thought while heading to school in her summer uniform with her almost coal black hair tied in a high ponytail, looking at the trees swayed gently in the breeze in the warm tropical sunshine . She let out a bright smile and hurried up. She had no idea she was an hour early in her class. Where is everybody? ' A thought lit up her brain to which she calmly went to her seat and waited for everyone to arrive. 15 minutes later, the class door opened. To her surprise, it was Kai.

"Why are you here?" Kai questioned Yue while taking his seat. "We both are in same class...." Yue dragged her reply because she was confused by his question. "Oh! I see." Kai ended the conversation in a simple reply. 'Is this how couples communicate? Are we even dating....?' Yue assumed and turned her focus to the trees outside the window looking pissed. A big hand touched her head in a comforting way. "Sorry, I didn't know how to react when I saw you alone in the class." Kai was patting Yue's head to calm her down. She slowly turned her head to Kai's side and was locked by his gaze. Her heart stopped beating when came she across his smile which was like a row of tombstones reflecting in a pond. The only sound left in the room was their heart beat sound which was beating for each other. "Stunned?" Kai went through her hair which made it messy. "I owe you my life for making it messy. Thanks!" She said in a sarcastic way and opened her hair. Her dark brown eyes shining brightly in the sunlight while her black pearl like hair was swaying in the hair. Not to mention our hero who was swooned by her beauty. "CUT!" A familiar voice interrupted the scene. "The shot was beautifully taken. The main characters can take a break now."

"Thanks Lufan, our lovely director! Not to mention Ai, our cute camerawoman. " Kai replied in astonishment. "Looks like we're third wheeling. Aren't we?" Ai raised a question. "Did you do yesterday's homework?" "WHATTT????? There was homework!" "Did you watch the concert which aired yesterday?" "Eh! I didn't" "REALLY!!!!! SHE TEXTED YOU BRO!!!!" The chattering sound of their classmates made the room more lively. "We aren't the one who is third wheeling!" Lufan chuckled. "Whatever...." Yue sighed and stood up to tie her hair. She raised her arms and tried to tie her hair like before but it failed. "Ugh! Why now?" She frowned and sat back.. "Don't worry girl" Lufan encouraged her. Kai stood behind Yue's seat and brushed her hair. "I'll try!" He said and spilt her hair into three sections , cross them under the center and did many steps further. The way he played with Yue's hair made everybody go awe. His dark black eyes gazing at the hair, v shaped face moving from one place to another, the sunshine rays reflecting on his golden tan skin and his smooth gentle hands balancing every strand of hair was way too perfect. The end result was a beautiful two braided Dutch braid.

"And this is how you braid them." Queen Yue taught the kids on the streets how to braid. "It's pretty. Thank you, Queen Yue. She beamed at them with a smile. "Pretty like you!" King Kai complimented while he stood next to her. "King, Can you braid like this?" A kid asked the King fearlessly. "Only if someone taught me how to!" Yue heaved a sigh and taught him. "Don't forget it! It's my 20th time teaching you!" "Will never!" Kai promised.

"And this is how you braid them!" Kai looked at his friends after finishing Yue's braid. "You're such a boyfriend material, Kai" "Can you braid mine too?" "Wish I had a boyfriend like you!" "Please braid mine." "No. Mine first!" He was soon surrounded by many girls. Yue sat there frozen with happiness. Her cheeks were red and a smile crept her face. 'He remembered!' She thought to herself. 'I remember!' Kai said to himself with joy. "That's such a beautiful braid, Yue!" Sora who just entered the class complimented her. "WOW! Never knew you had such good skills" Jiang exclaimed who as well arrived with Sora. "I did it!" Kai howled after escaping from the girl's squad. "It's an ugly one." Sora remarked in a joking way. "That's some bad skills" Jiang joined him. "shut up~" Kai reacted in a emotionless way. Soon their English teacher arrived and everyone went back to their original seats.

Class started.

"Okay Kai. Tell me some synonyms for Beautiful" His teacher asked.

"Yue." He whispered under his breath. "I'm not able to hear you." His teacher said.

"I mean Pretty, alluring and attractive, Mam."

"Good." His teacher appreciated and continued her class

"That was smooth bro." A classmate behind Kai's seat said to which Kai smirked and looked at Yue who was next to him.

Bell rang. English class dismissed. Chemistry class next.

The chemistry sir came earlier than usual. "Kai, you're wanted by your class teacher in the staff room" "Okay, Sir!" Kai replied and went to the staff room.

"Sir, You aren't kidding right? I'm selected for the national preliminaries." Kai exclaimed with excitement. "Yes. Your dance was selected. Congratulations! You and Hina are going on a 8 day trip to Yokohama." His class teacher said. "YESS-" before he could celebrate it, he remembered about the summer festival which will be happening in 6 days.

'I won't be able to watch the fireworks with Yue?' Thinking about it made him more sad.
