Feelings of the Unknown

"The pendant hasn't been retrieved yet right?" The superior of all comments. The pendant of love gifted by Kai Qi to Ying Yue holds a deadly secret from the past. "We are extremely sorry for our carelessness all this while. Give us one last chance, master. We'll surely retrieve it from them." Ato keenly replied as he bowed down along with Mao. "1 week. Just one solid week. If it's not retrieved by then, I may have to take some serious measures." With the order from their superior, the two messengers Ato and Mao left to continue the mission. The young messenger, Mao sighed as he looked at Ato. "What's with that one pendant? I seriously don't get the value of it." "Once she can control the powers and travel back, it may lead to a danger between the two worlds. Time's running out. We better hurry, Mao." The latter replied with a stern look.

(At Yue's house)

The house was busy with the upcoming Chunxi and Cheng's engagement ceremony. "You look, beautiful sis." Yue complimented Chunxi as she was getting ready. "Well well, The Qi's will be here anytime soon. Aren't you gonna get yourself ready?" With the comment from Xi, Yue snuggled as she realized Kai won't be with them for the auspicious ceremony. 'Only if he was here..' Yue thought to herself and left the room. Xi noticed her dismay but there was nothing that she could do to make her happy. Yue took a walk in the nearby park as she held her pendant tightly and prayed to see Kai. 'I may be asking too much. But, at this moment, I wish to see him' As soon as she prayed, fireworks started to display in the lonely night sky. Beautiful sparkles filled her eyes with a warm hand wrapping her waist. Yue had a jumpscare when she saw Kai hugging her. Was it a dream? She wondered. He let out a pleasing smile like he always used to do. "I am glad I am in time to watch the fireworks with you." "So what about your competition?" Yue concernedly asked him to which Kai whined. "It's been weeks since I last saw you and this is the question as a wife you ask. I am disappointed." He teased as he pulled her into a tight hug. "Let me feel the moment for now." Under the moonlight, two relationships blossomed. The pendant shined upon the moon's light.

"Didn't I say, he must have arrived to meet Yue" Cheng teased as he and Xi stared at them from afar. Xi held Cheng's arms as she rested on him. "They must have missed each other. After all, they are still young." Xi chuckled. "Let's not disturb them for now." Cheng smiled as he gracefully stared at his younger brother and left the place with Xi.

"Should we just go and grab the pendant from her, Ato?" Mao asked the other while examining the couple from a rooftop. "Do you know what happens after we retrieve the pendant from Ying Yue?" Ato cautiously asked back at Mao. "Well, she might fight back?" Ato let out a huge sigh. "The past will be erased from everyone's mind. The one's who time traveled. They'll completely forget everything, from the relationship they created to the memories. Everything will be erased-" "So, Kai and Yue will forget each other?" Mao grasped to which Ato nodded.

"You had a talk with Sora about the past." Kai made a statement as he swung in the swing. "I did. That conversation made me realize many things." Yue patiently replied. "Yue, I came early from the competition because I wanted to ask you something. I am letting my heart speak tonight so please don't get hurt by it." Kai became serious as he faced Yue who was shaken by the sudden sternness in him. "If we hadn't been prince and princess in the past, would we have the same relationship as now? Before our marriage in the past, you fell for Sora, but how come you didn't fall for him in the present? What is the guarantee that you wouldn't fall for Sora in the present again? I know I may be harsh but I want to hear the truth. If I am not wrong, the marriage between Ying Yue and Kai Qi was just a contract marriage. It happened because history was incomplete. They were never LOVE between them!!" Yue was on the edge of breaking down. Tears filled her eyes and so does in Kai's eyes. Each question made by Kai let a pierce in Yue's heart. "K-kai..." Her voice trembled. "If there weren't a past between us, Would we still be lovers?...." There was a pause in Kai's questions. Yue slowly bowed her head as tears rushed. It was the first fight they had. From embracing each other under the lovely moon to having a never-ending silence under the lonely night. Yue sniffed as she gathered to speak up.

"Even if the past hadn't happened. Even if we hadn't time traveled. Even if we weren't prince and princess, I would have still fallen for Kai Qi. No matter what dynasty it was, I would have still been Kai Qi's lover because it was you Kai, who taught me how to feel emotions. You may not remember, but I do. Falling for you was the greatest thing I have done Kai. I don't know how the past was but I wouldn't let it interfere with our present." These words repeated in his mind. It felt as if a heavy load has been taken from him. He felt peace at last. "It's because... I Love You, Kai!" Yue exclaimed while wiping her tears. Kai cupped her cheeks "I am sorry for making you brawl. And, Thank you for loving me. Under this moonlight, I promise, No matter how many destinies we cross, Ying Yue will always remain mine." The moment was soon interpreted by a phone call by either of their parents. "I ditched the rehearsal to meet you, I should head back. It's been a long night. Many emotions were revealed tonight. So-" Before Kai could finish his sentence, Yue sealed his lips with her finger. "Save your words for later, now head back. I'll watch your finals next week and be there to support you." Yue smiled as she spoke and Kai pouted "Well well..." He slowly approached closely to Yue "Do I get a gift from you?" They intertwined their fingers as the two faced each other with a bright smile. Yue planted a peck on Kai's forehead, a genuine one. "All the Best Kai."
