Chapter 2

After ten minutes of staring at the engravings, Bael put the box back at the table. After he laid on the bed still in contemplation about what he had seen and experienced today, and most of all he had only now realized how calm he is. Despite the obvious change he has gone through. His emotions were in chaos but his mind remained clear.

Somehow Bael had kept all his emotions inside without showing any on his face or affecting his decision-making. While Bael was watching sealing and thinking about what to do. Deep inside the forest which was right outside Bael's house that could be seen through a window, which was full of trees tall and their crowns so thick that very little light could go past them so the forest was a dark place especially after the sun has fallen. Because of that children were often reprimanded when they were playing near the forest at dark.

But some people look for dark places. They think that darkness will hide them from the eyes of others and their scornful gazes.

He watched an abandoned building with a few youthful men who were trying or more so playing to summon a demon. If someone were to look closely at them there were from no more than sixteen to nineteen years old.

When he looked more closely he saw thatt they are wearing black clothing with gothic accessories. They even had sacrifices with them. Truth be told it is just squirrel. But still, sacrifice. Their names were Josh, Victor, Elise, Lili and Patric.

Josh and Lili were the youngest being sixteen while Victor was seventeen and Patric was eighteen and Elise was nineteen. Patric was your average side character in horror movies who died first for a stupid reason, but who knows? Josh and Lili were twins, while they looked very similar in their personalities they were identical. Which didn't help on creepiness, it was like watching horror when they stood in the hallway silently and unmoving in the middle of the night.

Elise was the oldest one there and the only one who would not be looked at with horror in people's eyes if she would walk among them. She did wear black clothing which combined with her white hair was eye-catching, yes but it was still far from how Victor chose his design. Which were black pants, a black t-shirt, vest from small silver chains.

Four necklaces with a multitude of designs, from inverted crosses to Egyptian symbols of life and many more. Even he didn't know them all. All of them were sitting in a circle. While Patric was holding a squirrel in his right hand and a knife in his left, the rest of them were holding light candles. And he brought them there in the first place. One could say he was a nutjob other that he is wackadoo, and all would be right.

When they were reciting the text which Vicktor prepare, Patrick stabbed the already dead squirrel in the heart, the rain started to fall but for them, it was no problem but a sign that they are on right track. Only if they knew it was because of Bael. And because there were inside of abandoned building they didn't get wet and their circle which they have drawn with white chalk between them also suffered no damage.

Victor has drawn that circle originally with animal blood but that was a long time ago when he was trying these rituals alone because he knows that they would not approve. In his eyes they were weak, but he still needed them for now.

Victor was sure that this time it will work, he made every preparation he even got a dagger with crystal which he soaked in the blood of animals and even his own. His desperation has brought him so close.

"This must work. This must work" Victor whispered repeatedly over and over. Elise looked at him questioningly but stayed silent. Only Josh and Lili lacked such tackiness and asked in unison "What are you saying Vick?". Victor looked into their eyes "Nothing, nothing let's continue."

He was getting desperate because they need to continue with the ritual or all preparation will be for nothing, which Victor could not allow especially now after everything he had done and. Only one thing still dreaded his mind, that he still needs sentient sacrifice. But Victor did not despair because here he has fore potential sacrifices ripe for taking.

Josh or Lili would be easiest but if he killed one of the other ones could get hysteria and destroy the ritual. If it was Elsie or Patric then others should go to shock and he would have enough time to finish summoning. Because in Victor's mind, there is no doubt that there is a possibility that this ritual will not work.

So when Patric stabbed the dead squirrel in the chest, Victor acted and stabbed Elise in the heart. At least that was what he wanted but he accomplished it only partly. Elise was heavily bleeding but still breathing.

"DIE ELISE AND REJOICE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE SACRIFICE WE NEED!!! HAHAHAHA..." as was Victor preparing for the second strike Patric jumped at him to take his dagger away"STOP VICTOR! Wath do you think you are doing? Have you gone nuts or what?" yelled Patric but it was for naught. It only infuriated Victor as he started yelling at them "WHAT DO YOU THINK I'M DOING! I'm finishing the ritual that we all started. How dare you try to stop me! I have brought you here, I have shown you how to do this ritual and even I have offered sacrifice and yet your ungratefulness knows no limit. So shut up continue chanting!".

Only they didn't and Patric continued "You have gone mad Victor stop it right now". "I have gone mad? No, it is you who is weak, what did you think summoning demons would take one dead squirrel? No, it takes more than that it takes one whole life for it to work, I will not allow you to mess it up." Victor slashed with a dagger at Patric only to be stopped by Josh and Lili.

As Victor fell to the ground he cursed at them "How dare you all of you! How dare you!" When was Victor getting up Patric took his hand in which he holds a dagger and tried to take it. While Twins were holding him on the ground. But then Victor pushed the dagger to Patric's stomach who yelled in pain. When the twins saw it their survival instincts kicked in once more and they started to punch Victor in the face and neck.

When they realize what happened then Victor has already fainted. Then Josh hurriedly called the cops, while Lili called the hospital while checking at Elise and Patric. Elise was still breathing and Lili started to push on the wound because she remembered from school how to provisionally stop bleeding while waiting for an ambulance.

Josh did the same thing for Patric. "Sis Patric what should I do? What should I do?" Josh yelled in panic. "Hold the wound a...and something!" Lili answered him but even she was panicking. "H..How is, how to..." Josh stuttered, and Lili saw him panicking too much to think straight. "Josh hold the wound!" Lili yelled and thanks to that Josh snapped out of it.

After fifteen minutes they heard sirens, which come late because they were deep in the forest. The following day was hard for them especially when Elise and Patric were taken by ambulance and Victor by police. After a checkup, they went with the police to give a statement.

Of course, their individual guardians were also called. Josh was especially heartbroken when he found up that Patric died, he remembered how he was pushing on the wound so he would not bleed out. This experience scared him, it made him close himself to the world.

Only his sister was there to comfort him and encourage him to go outside when they were released. But did his heart heal or did he end it all, that's another story altogether, which we may never know. Elise's wound looked worst and yet hers was lightest. All thanks to Victor's inexperience aim. But she was meant to be sacrificed, she was struck first her blood was one to be taken by The Pit.

And yet she lives, doctors spoke to her parents after her hospital admission. "Mr. and Mis. Vargas, your daughter will recover in time, but I strongly recommend that she will go to a psychologist after her discharge from the hospital so there would be no lasting trauma." After hearing what the doctor said they were greatly relieved after all it was their only daughter. "Thank you doctor thank you.". Only if they could see what she had seen in her dreams, Horrors of The Pit.

And what of Victor? Well, he got what he deserves. In the end, Victor was sentenced to a psychiatric hospital where he would remain for the rest of his days, so close and yet so far. Deep in a forest, there lay a lonely building behind tapes from a police circle with runes meant to summon a demon from The Pit. How foolish to try to summon anything from one of the still empty realms especially those of Ascended Hells.
