Chapter 89

The 300 years of the Tang dynasty was said to be one of the most prosperous times in ancient China.

Boasting many flourishing foreign trade, art, literature, and religious life, and also a very luxurious life for its aristocrats.

And is considered by many historians as the greatest imperial dynasty in all of ancient Chinese history.

While Tony was a little doubtful about the second mission, since Wu Zetian is the first and only female empress in the world.

From the little that he knows of Chinese history he's aware that Wu had a reputation as an empress "with a heart like a serpent and a nature like that of a wolf".

'Change positively,' Tony sits down on the hotel bed and thinks, 'so that means avoiding the original outline of history that created her evil personality.'

When Wu Zetian became an empress she was said to have a very cold personality that seeps with the evils of scheming, though these are only rumors that may not hold true.

"Walk one step, look one step," Tony mutters standing up from the bed and gets his phone out to give a call.

Connecting the call Tony says on the phone, "I'm planning to buy a home in rural China, send me reports on potential homes."

A couple days later, Tony got off his private plane and started driving his car to the address of the rural home he bought.

In a couple hours of driving Tony sees signs of the town where his home lies.

At this period during the new year festival there's large festivities that Tony saw going on in every village.

While driving his car through the entrance to the town he sees the water that runs through the canals to be very dirty and littered with used plastic bags and bottles.

The water in the canal seems to be dehydrated as it only reaches a small level that the height of the soil.

Continuing down the long winded small road Tony sees large fields of green rice patties that's empty of any farmers tending their crops.

The homes in the town are mostly either 2 stories or 3 stories tall, and have little decor with modest stone walls.

But what the townhomes lack architecturally is made up with gorgeous natural beauty in its absence.

In the distance overhangs tall mountains and waterways that provides a pristine forest surrounding.

The reason Tony bought a home in such a rural place was because he wants to live a more secluded reclusive life.

And also to open a small herbal medicine and acupuncture shop to help people.

He bought a three story home with the top 2 levels as residence while the lower level as the shop.

While Tony was getting used to his home for the first week there weren't any clients that came to his herbal and acupuncture shop because his location is at the back of the village.

So most of the time it was spent idly reading up different topics in ancient history in preparation for his travel 2 years later.

During this period he had a lot of time interacting with friendly villagers at night who were more than happy to share their daily gossip.

It was in the evening as Tony sits peacefully on a wooden chair drinking tea he heard some sound coming from the dark alley next to his home.

A tall older teen in white student uniform was threatening another teen on the floor with a sharp hunting knife.

Surrounding the handsome black hair teen on the floor were 3 other buff teens with their uniform sleeves rolled up to show their built up muscular arms, some even have tattoos.

"Hey! Why do you make me do this to you Guan Yu," he lifts the teen's chin with the hunting knife, "do you really think you're Guan Yu(Chinese God of War)?"

The tall leader says jokingly as his other lackies join in to his comedic joke.

Then the tall leader's face turned menacing, "Hey, if you dare to talk to the school beauty again...I will carve my name on your chest."

He starts to slowly descend the knife gently down the teens chest, till it stops at the middle of his lower abdomen.

The handsome teen's face was brutalized with fighting wounds and sweat glistening his clear skin.

"Hey! Do you hear me-,asks the tall uniformed teen raises his hand to slap Guan Yu's face.

"Don't you think this is enough," Tony asks calmly from the outside of the gang.

Every member looks at the man who suddenly stands out disturbing the taunting of the victim on the floor.

They turn their head to see Tony calmly standing there wearing a simple white shirt and black jean.

The tall leader stops taunting Guan Yu and stops up walking slowly towards Tony with intimidation until he stands a meter away, "Who are you?"

'Trying to intimidate me? I'll show you true intimidation,' Tony grins like he was watching a bunch of foolish sheeps.

Tony slaps his hand right across the tall leader's left cheek making him hit against the wall of a neighboring house.

He didn't slap the guy too hard so he wasn't knocked out, walking to the leader he picks him up in the neck and lifts him up in the neck till his feets are off the ground.

His lackies were about to strike Tony with a sneak attack behind his back, but Tony looked back at the guy at his back.

In that moment he released his spiritual power on the buff guy and put such an intimidating pressure that he fell to his knees wetting his pants.

His friends look down to see his grey pants have a wet spot in the crotch area as his lips tremble with fear before standing up running away from the scene.

Flunging the leader's body on the ground below the lackies' feet Tony says with a playful smile, "Why don't we play a game?"

They were taking a slow step backwards, suddenly they were unable to move their body as though they were freezed on the spot.

'What's happening to my body?'

'His eyes! It feels like a lion is staring me down!!'

'I want to go home! Save Me!!'

They were looking into Tony's eyes unable to move, now in addition to the soul pressure Tony adds his killing aura.

Their eyes were filled with shock as they saw standing in front was no longer a human but has become their worst nightmares.

Screaming with fear, the group of bullies flee the scene, leaving Guan Yu looking at their distant backs puzzled.
