Superficiality

Even if Daphne wanted to admit it or not, she was deeply attracted to her husband. He had golden pupils and black hair, well defined and symmetric facial features and a body to kill for. His height was over six feet, but she was not sure about his exact height.

Ezra was better looking than basically all men she had ever seen. And unlike some of the other beautiful people she had met, he looked good with any facial expression. There was a male model she had been briefly infatuated with, some time ago. He looked absolutely dashing with his mouth closed, but when he opened his mouth to speak, his gums were overly visible and his smile was not all that attractive.

Daphne wanted to blame the marriage on her father, but in a corner of her heart, she knew she had been charmed by Ezra's beauty, even if back then she did not feel attracted to him.

She felt slightly awkward for how superficial she had been. What had she been planning anyway? To trap a gorgeous man in a marriage where she wanted nothing to do with him? Was she treating him as an acquired art piece?

The more she thought about her past stupidity, the more baffled she was with herself. No matter how you looked at it, she was going on a self-destructive path. It was close to impossible for such a high-speck man to not go looking elsewhere if he was receiving nothing from his wife. God knew he had plenty of willing people around.

With the reality that he was her husband, along with the newly discovered attitude towards her, and the fact that he seemed to have left her alone based on her own behavior, she realized he was quite the patient man.

If he was not lying about the situation with Theresa, then Daphne could not help but be slightly touched.

As she kept looking at Ezra, she suddenly felt shy.

The shift in her demeanor did not escape Ezra and he was shocked to realize, she appeared to be shy. His snow queen was shy. Overwhelming and unabashed joy suddenly burst forth from the deepest parts of his heart. His pulse stated racing and his eyes gained a new intensity.

Ezra had had a secret for the longest time. One that he had kept very close to his heart. He protected this secret with all he had and was unwilling to let it free.

While Daphne had been heartbroken since before her marriage; Ezra had become heartbroken mostly during their marriage.

He had become infatuated with Daphne while she had still been dating her ex. This was information he was not willing to share with anyone. As much as he wanted her attention back then, he believed stealing a woman away was beneath him. As he waited for his infatuation to sort itself out naturally, his feelings did not diminish, but simply got stronger.
