Planning

With unseen vigor, Ezra went head first into his family's business, in order to gain the capital to be considered as a candidate by Ander von Schéele, Daphne's father.

He had already come up with some ideas before that moment, but he lacked the enthusiasm and commitment to see his ideas through. His plans would be extraordinarily innovative, but the methods he would have to employ would require the company to extend its area of research and he would need to file for countless permits; he would also have to find many qualified people, and in some cases even train many from scratch; quite a few things would need to be on a trial basis before they were adopted, as well.

This would transform the family assets from having an agricultural company to owning a Conglomerate. At the same time, many other companies would need to be created, each with a different purpose, companies to which Almer Conglomerate would become a parent company.

To put it simply, the changes he wanted to adopt were so radical that if he did not go full on with effort in what his plans were, the foundation would crumble later and it would all come crumbling down.

Ezra wanted to redefine agriculture and animal farming. It had been a pipe dream when he was younger, but as time went on, there were many theories and discoveries being made that he could use to at least try.

Products from substandard or immoral ways of farming were cheap and made fast money. As such, even before he got started properly, he employed different tactics and advertisements to make people understand the importance of a balanced diet, the importance of healthy produce and the lack of need of meat on a daily basis.

One of said tactics was the company starting a catering business of sorts after which he negotiated with different countries and got approved to serve lunch in schools, or for some, provide them with detailed recipes, the ingredients required and supervisors that made sure everything was up to par. The meals had to be good, balanced and affordable.

In time, this tactic in particular was what created many faithful consumers, and a very good and stable reputation for what later became Almer Conglomerate.

His family was unsure of where his enthusiasm came from, but they were not complaining, especially when they started to see results.

In the same period of time soon after he found out about Ander von Schéele's plan to find a husband for Daphne, Ezra had schemed and planted ideas in his parent's minds for a few weeks. Ideas of him wanting a wife from a prominent family and that arranged marriages were not too bad, etc.

Eventually, he made Edgar speak about the fact that Ander von Schéele was looking for a groom for his daughter, as if it was just random gossip.

Although the Almer's had started to get ideas, they were not acting on their ideas. They did not belong to the same social cycle of European aristocracy, so they had virtually no chance of meeting Ander von Schéele, much less convincing him of their son's prospects.

Ezra realized he might have overlooked a few things and his scheming got deeper and deeper.

After much planning, he managed to get his father, Michael, and an acquaintance of Daphne's father, Klaus Bese, to be forced to share a table at a high end restaurant. Klaus Bese would hold a gathering of a few dozen people in a couple of weeks, and Ezra hoped him and his father would start getting along based on the fact that they were both German.
