Chapter 12: Recovering

As expected the video of the battle between the four kids and the green belt assassin was released to the public and the country shook! This was something that has never happened since this country was formed!

The liberation union and the sovereign federation are the two major forces on the continent. These people have maintained the balance for years as both sides are equally matched, preventing a single power from consuming the continent.

The liberation union had the highest number of guardians of various ratings in the continent, easily reaching hundreds and even more but the sovereign federation, in turn, has less than fifty, yet those fifty are elites! With the lowest at the B ratings! What they lack in numbers, the filled the gap with strength!

Fortunately, the sheer numbers of the guardians of the liberation union are capable of keeping the sovereign federation at bay. With the death of the four wings of the liberation union, the balance was shattered and the whole world was watching these four, in hopes that they can succeed and surpass their parents. Before now, they were shreds of doubt in the mind of the people but none wanted to voice it out, but after watching these kids successfully defeat someone who D rated guardians will find it hard to go up against, they were ecstatic and their doubts vanished! All these were achieved at the age of 13!

At this point, no one bothered these kids on how they were able to complete the stabilization of their realm and all that! All they wanted to do now is keep these people safe and nurture them till they reach their peak!

Should these kids grow even stronger and surpass their parents, the balance will shatter and the liberation union will have an upper hand against the sovereign federation for the very first time in forever! They won't have to be so passive when dealing with the sovereign alliance!

After a few days, a report from the leading medical practitioners in the country was released and it was stated that these kids needed a month at the very least for them to recover from their injuries. Dan's bones on his right hand were shattered into very tiny pieces, almost turning it into powder! This is not something normal medical practitioners could handle effectively so they relied on the top-ranking healing guardians to work on Dan's hand, but even after this he still needed at least a month of rest for him to recover fully!

Zero, on the other hand, was badly hurt in a whole new level. It was reported that he collapsed and lost consciousness just barely 30 minutes after the battle ended. His spirit energy was completely depleted to the point that not even a drop remained! This could be considered as a very dangerous condition for anyone with superpowers, for this they had to place him within a special formation helps in the refueling of the spirit energy, according to reports he will remain unconscious for at least month or more.

Akila didn't suffer that much, he only had a few broken ribs and minor internal injuries, he just needed a few weeks to recover and Kira was the least hurt amongst all of them. He literarily had no injuries that required serious medical attention but then again all he needed was just a few painkillers and some rest.

In response to this, these four were awarded two months off school to fully recover from their injuries both mentally and physically. As the value of these kids rose rapidly in the country, their position in the institution increased as well.

Since they still remained in their mansion at the outskirts of the campus, the school and the government provided additional security forces to safeguard them during their recovery, boosting their already insanely tight security, threefold!

Since their safety has already been handled after a few guardians with decent ratings volunteered to watch over them within these two months, the government turned its attention on the assassin who infiltrated the country. From the reports, the assassin was a twenty-eight-year-old martial art practitioner named Crane Joe, surprisingly from the divine palm dojo, a popular dojo in the countries capital. They are known for their powerful fist martial arts technique and rumors have it that their most talented disciple could take on a B rated guardian head-on. This may sound less outstanding to people but in reality, it was considered impressive for a person with no special abilities, relying on the limitations of his body to battle it out with evenly with a superhuman.

Since the dojo was not as simple as it looks, in reality, it was backed by a powerful force in the background and its connections were as vast as the ocean in the liberation union! The government dared not go against them head-on so they conducted private investigations and found out crane was dismissed from divine palm dojo over a year ago. Without any evidence that the divine palm dojo was collaborating the sovereign federations god sect, there was nothing the government could do so they let the case die that way.

In the blink of an eye, a month ran past. Dan's hands were fully restored and Akila and Kira were at peak condition as well. Zero was still unconscious but he showed signs of recovery soon. His body color returned to normal a faint aura diffused from his body while he rested. The chairmen and chairwomen of the Oscuro group had become committed and cooperative all of a sudden, making life easier for these kids. Since they have become quite popular, they chose to remain indoors for another month to avoid unwanted encounters, outside. During this time, they decided to focus solely on improving their strength!
