Chapter 20: Becoming a Scavenger (3)
Silence…
These people were stunned by Kira's performance. Even though they knew Kira won not because he was a better fighter, he won because no one expected the sudden application of his blood flame abilities to his snake fist technique, skyrocketing his power by a large portion!
Dean never expected this change, no one did and the nature of Kira's powers doesn't really deal with the user's power level. Rumor has it that these blood flames could even consume other attacks and defense of any form. It was just too terrifying.
Paa!
Dean spat out a mouthful of blood with reddened eyes. His malicious intentions were skillfully hidden and his aura began gathering for a final attack. He gripped his injured chest tightly as he sprang on his feet and with a roar, his body was completely engulfed in his silver aura.
"Combat technique: Executioner knight's armor"
He let out a resounding roar and his silver aura soon faded, revealing the clad red knights armor. Numerous ancient symbols releasing a faint red glow was visible on the battle-ax in his hands and his aura changed entirely.
This shameless man was planning to attack this kid when his back was turned on him.
Since his aura was suppressed at first and the change was sudden no one expected this to happen, except for Zero of course. No ill intentions could be hidden from this kid.
"Haaaaa!" Dean roared as he hacked down with the blood-red battle-ax, releasing a crimson red arc-shaped projectile which split the ground as it raced towards Kira.
"No, you don't!" Zero roared and his eyes let out a terrifying purple light.
"Combat technique: Threefold Turtle Shell!
Zero dared not hold back in this situation and his aura poured out, surrounded Kira in an instant. His aura took the shapes of turtle shells, forming a three-layered dome around the Kira in just an instant!
Bam!

Bam!!!
Each layer dome comprised of fifteen massive turtle shells each, moving skillfully to intercept the crimson red arc attack. In the blink of an eye, the first layer crumbled and the second was about to fall. Even then, Kira stood there confidently with his murderous gaze pinned on Dean.

The second layer crumbled yet Kira remained still, not showing any sign of retreating. His palms were placed on the last layer of the dome and a large tear appeared on his palm.
Boom!
The final layer crumbled and the red arc raced towards Kira maliciously. At this point, Zero's complexion was terrifyingly pale and he staggered slightly, depending on Akila's support to stand properly.
"You court death! Burn away!" Kira roared furiously and a torrent of blood-red flames poured out of his palms and instantly consumed the energy attack heading his way. Dean screamed in terror and hastily retreated but like all other superhumans whose abilities did not enhance their physical capabilities, he was slow and the red flames caught up to him and consumed him.
In just about two seconds, ear-piercing cries were heard within the red flames and a human figure could be seen rolling around frantically, pleading for help.
"Kira…" Zero muttered weakly.
Even though this man crossed the line when he planned to end Kira with the sneak attack, it wasn't in their place to kill him. This man was a guardian of the country, even though they had legit reasons to end the life of this man here and now it will still spark some negative vibes towards them, especially from those who were at the scavenger guild.
He wasn't planning on making an enemy on the first day at the guild.
"I know…" Kira responded coldly and he hesitated a bit before he withdrew his blood flames.
The man's body was dyed black and he suffered severe wounds from the blood flames. Nothing was left of his red executioner armor, not even his normal clothes. The officials of the scavenger guild hastily ran over to the man's side and pulled him out of there, heading to the nearest medical center in the guild residence.
Before they left they gave Zero a glance and nodded with grateful expressions on their faces, the death of Dean would have been a major loss on their side. If this kid didn't step up, the blood flame user would have ended his life without blinking. When they looked at Kira now, all they saw was the image of the youth's father who was called the fiery demon by both friends and foes.
"Do you still doubt our abilities or do you need another demonstration… We wish to join the scavenger guild and register our team!" Dan was quite impatient after the exchange between Kira and the guardian. His eyes lacked the usual black pupils as he spoke and some sort of gray mist diffused from his body.
"Yes… yes!!" The red-haired lady screamed hastily. She could no longer doubt these youth's strength or look down on them. If one person was capable of taking down a D rated guardian like Dean it won't be wrong to say that the other three possess the same level of strength.
"Your team's name?" The lady asked as he continued the registration on the laptop in front of her.
"Oscuro… Oscuro group…" Zero said weakly with a bitter smile on his pale face.
The lady nodded and continued the registration. After a minute or so, she claimed it was done and these kids were instructed to come the next day for their scavenger guild badge. A package, containing relevant information on the guild and its activities.
With that, the team left the guild area and headed home. Unknown to them, the news of Kira's stunning deeds spread around like wildfire, and their fame skyrocketed to a whole new level!
