Chapter 33: Damn! (2)
"Begin the raid!" Zero screamed and the others smile viciously in response.
Woooosh!
"Combat technique: Phantom god mode five percent!"
Dan was the first to charge with the black dagger in his hands, his eyes turned gray and his hair turned white completely and a hazy mist followed his figure. This was the combat technique Dan came up it, where he applies the laws of the phantom directly to his body to help enhance his physical capabilities, and also allow him to use the abilities more quickly. In this form, his movement speed was on par with that of Kira who is considered a monster in terms of physical capabilities when compared with other kids his age.
"So fast?!"
Before Dan could take a second step, a green figure appeared right in front of him brandishing his claws at him, aiming for his throat. At this point Dan panicked and tripped over a fist-size stone before the claws got to him, his body became intangible, allowing the attack to phase through.
Bang!
Dan hit the ground hard and his vision blurred for only a second, even then he could still see a blurry green figure looming over him with its green tail which had a sharp edge, slashing towards him. At this point, he was not in his right state of mind and he had already lost his concentration, forcefully leaving the phantom god mode. He could only shut his eyes tightly while using his hands to defend his face.
Bam!
Just before the tail hit Dan, he was shrouded by solid purple energy which mimicked his body shape perfectly. Even though the barrier protected him from taking a direct hit from the one-eyed monkey's attacks, Dan was still thrown a few meters away by the sheer power of the attack, crashing into a pile of wood clustered at one spot in the construction site.
Growl!
The magic beast quickly traced the source of the defense and spotted Zero who was standing quietly with both hands shoved deep inside his pockets while staring at the beast disdainfully.
Wooosh!
"Martial arts: Consecutive venomous strikes!"
Suddenly a figure appeared from the side of the one-eyed spider monkey, bringing with him sounds of hissing snakes. His fists shot forward and his hands entangled with each other so smoothly that anyone seeing this would doubt that this kid actually has bones in his body.
Wooosh!
Right before Kira's blurry fists could reach the hairy spider monkey, the magic beast had already leaped more than a meter high. Its tail twirled and struck viciously at Kira, aiming for the youth's skull!
"Not enough!" Kira growled furiously.
Even though Dan could match his speed in his phantom god mode, Dan still lacked the years of training Kira has subjected himself to, that's why he panicked when he met an opponent much faster and almost got himself killed.
Wooosh!
Kira's hand left numerous after images and vague images of venomous black serpents appeared as he fearlessly parried the vicious tail attacks directed at him.
"Break!"
Akila's voice echoed as his leg muscles bulged out and he took to the skies with a large bang!
Wooosh!
"Combat technique: whirlwind fist!"
In just a second Akila was right in front of the airborne spider monkey with a clenched fist which was notably bigger than his left hand. Upon arrival Akila viciously punched out mercilessly, bringing a gust of wind with his oversized hand.
Bang!
Bam!
The spider monkey was unable to react to this since it couldn't move while airborne, it could only obediently take Akila's fist to the chest, leaving a fist imprint on its hairy chest. The beast was sent flying a few miles away, crashing into the bare ground and spitting out a mouth full of red blood.
"Nice one…" Kira smiled, giving Akila a thumbs up.
"Hehehehe!" Akila was covered in sweat, breathing heavily. His right hand was covered in blood, it seemed he also got hurt by the power of his attack.
"The power I allocated to my right fist was slightly higher than what it can handle, so my muscles and flesh got torn from the impact of my attack..." Akila quickly explained when he felt Kira's worried gaze on his injured right hand.
"It only natural we get hurt when we try to go above our limit, but this makes us stronger as well… can you use that attack, one more time?" Kira nodded to show he understood all Akila said.
"Hehehe… who do you think I am?" Akila chuckled and took a step forward towards the spider monkey.
"Then, let's go again together… This time, we will end it!" Kira said with a serious look on his face. Strangely, a deep gash began appearing on both his hands and his blood flowed out, turning into blood red flames! The next moment Kira's hands were covered in blood-red flames, giving him an imposing demonic look.
BANG!
BANG!!
Akila and Kira both turned into blurry shadows with Akila slightly faster than Kira. He appeared in front of the spider monkey in mere seconds trying to sweep it off its feet with a simple slide tackle, hoping the beast would go airborne again but contrary to his expectations the beast retreated instead with its glowing green eyes pinned on Kira's blurry figure. The magic beast quickly decided that Kira was the biggest threat as soon as he released his ability.
"Die!" Kira's voice echoed as his figure blew past Akila, appearing right in front of the fleeing spider monkey.
His fiery fists entangled with each other as they created a vague image of a horned demonic fire snake, striking at the spider monkey's chest, the same spot where Akila hit some moments ago.
Bang!
With a banging sound, the spider monkey leaped high above Kira once again, and once again Akila's figure appeared right in front of spider monkey with a bloodied slightly bigger right fist flying towards its face with an even bigger gust of wind following tightly behind. But the spider monkey wouldn't make the same mistake once again, the moment it jumped it swiped its powerful tail right in front, smacking viciously into Akila's unguarded waist. Luckily, a turtle shell-shaped shield appeared at the nick of time and Akila was only sent flying by the force of the attack.
"Tch!" Zero frowned. He wasn't satisfied with the current level of his ability. Even though his power was at the mid-tier of the infant phase, it couldn't completely stop a direct hit from the spider monkey, an E rated magic beast if he were to take on a D rated magic beast how is he supposed to handle the situation?
Thud!
Boom!
The moment the spider monkey's feet touched the ground, it shot its self past Kira, heading straight to Zero even before Kira could react. Its tactics were quite simple and correct, if not for Zero's constant interferences, Dan and Akila would be dead already. As long as it can kill the one responsible for the team's defense, it won't take long before the others die one after the other.
"No!" Kira panicked and quickly pursued the magic beast but his speed was still on par with Dan's, he could not keep up with the spider monkeys movement speed.
"You wish to kill me? You don't have the ability!" Zero was rather calm about the sudden change in the situation.
He quickly took off his black leather jacket and threw it away, assuming a fighting stance.
"Come at me… I will end your life, here and now!" Zero bellowed furiously.
