Before attempting to steal the phoenix ring, he gathered as much information as he could about Zero and Kira, and based on what he got, he was pretty sure that Kira was only slightly stronger than the average man. His physique at best should be somewhere near that of the martial arts masters which are not that impressive unless they decide to make use of their aura materialization or special techniques! Then how did he get this strong?

With each hit, the Tyris man could feel his stamina been sapped. His movements became more sluggish and his eyes got heavy. The annoying part was that Kira always struck the same spot from different angles, slithering around him like a real snake, throwing feint attacks, and only striking when he sees an opening!
