A Hunter Chronicle – 28

"Yeah…"

Killua sweat-dropped as an event from past appeared in his mind.

"It's because of me I guess, here's what happened."

"Umm… what's wrong?"

Killua asked after seeing his almost three-year-old brother's eyes had turn pitch black.

Alluka, whom kept referring himself as female when he was able to talk, was very much attached to the middle child of the Zoldyck Family.

Alluka didn't response to his question, however.

"How do I make your eyes back to normal?"

Something else explained that if you asked her for one 'wish' it would return back to normal while listening to three of her requests, it will become black again. Killua, being a smart child as he was, understood the meaning immediately.

However, Alluka had returned to normal once the answers were given.

"Onii-chan, can you give me a hug?"

Killua blinked, knowing it was a request.

"Okay, come here, Alluka."

"Alluka, I was wondering. Are you a boy or a girl?"

"Onii-chan is silly. Of course, I'm a girl!"

Alluka giggled cutely before letting go of her brother and sat back down on the floor, surrounded by her toys.

"Can you play with me?"

"Okay."

Killua answered, accepting Alluka for what she was and joining her.

"Can I have that?"

Alluka requested, pointing at the handmade doll in Killua's hand.

He smiled and gave her it, completing the third request.

As explained earlier by something, Alluka immediately entered her wishing mode.

"I want Alluka to be herself."

Killua requested without hesitation.

Alluka returned back to normal soon afterward but passed out from exhaustion.

"Wow!"

Gon was amazed after hearing the story while Naruto raised an eyebrow at such power.

A certain god had decided to dump him in this world in order to teach him a lesson while casually hinting about a certain wish granting power.

However, seeing that he was here in Kukuroo Mountain, not of his own will, but rather simply because of someone's machination, had ticked him off a bit.

He sighed afterward.

"So mentally, Alluka is a girl, but stuck a boy's body?"

Naruto asked. He didn't care much for the gender bending aspect of the wish as he used it to mess with people all the time.

"Yes, my second wish was to correct that mistake."

Killua answered without regret.

"After that, I tried to stop her from using her power for anything absurd since the more impossible the wish was, the stronger the drawback. Eventually, father decided the best course of action was to lock Alluka up and prevent anyone from interacting with her."

"Hey, it's just like our new powers."

Gon stated, holding his fist up as aura enveloped it.

He was working on his technique after gaining some mastery of Hatsu.

The last principle gave one's aura real form, but there always a drawback depending on how powerful the technique was.

"It must be Nen then!"

"I thought so as well."

Killua agreed as lightning crackled between his fingers before transforming into fire.

The intense flames swirled and condensed into a ball before exploded outward in a blast of superheated wind.

The silver-haired assassin's hand was cut and scotched by the technique, but he showed no discomfort.

"Just like me, who must exchange pain and torture for the mastery over the elements, Alluka must exchange something when she grants a wish. I don't know what it is, but it's must be something important considering the scope of her ability. There is no limit to her wish from what she showed."

"I see."

Naruto mumbled before roaring skyward with his fist clenched.

"Okay, I've decided! Nobody should be locked up and used as a tool! I will show the world of hurt to any asshole who dare to think that way!"

'That seemed personal.'

Killua thought when hearing the outburst, but he patiently waited for Naruto to pledge something with himself quite loudly.

"What about the rest of your siblings?"

Gon asked softly.

"Illumi is the oldest. You've met him."

Killua replied.

Gon nodded as he in fact saw Illumi during the Hunter Exam.

"Milluki is next in line. He's both the biggest and weakest."

Killua said a smirk. It took Gon a few seconds to understand the literal meaning.

"Then me and Alluka. Kalluto is the youngest, but he's a bit weird."

"Do you want another sister, Onii-sama?"

Kalluto asked while wearing a kimono with yellow obi tied around his waist.

The youngest child seemed to have a strange infatuation with Killua, thus envious of Alluka for what she currently had with Killua.

But unfortunately, Killua only felt disgust at the attempt and didn't bother to correct it.

Naruto stretched his arms a little and rejoining Killua and Gon on the ground.

"How strong are other members of your family? Like your father, mother, uncle, aunt, gramps, dog… never mind about the dog."

Mike was still sitting at the same spot where they'd left him.

The zombie like creature didn't accept any other command from the trio after 'sit', and Killua and Gon had to stop Naruto from inflicting serious harm on the dog for ignoring him.

"I'm not sure, but I've always believed father and gramps to be more scary than Illumi."

Killua admitted before frowning.

"You've fought Illumi during the exam, right? If I was to fight against him, what are my chances?"

"Eh? I don't know since Illumi wasn't serious then, and I wasn't either."

Naruto answered. He was only measuring each of the candidates' power and disqualified them, so they wouldn't get themselves killed in the next round.

Illumi and Hisoka had set themselves apart from the rest through their display of power.

Hisoka had forced him to fight seriously without using higher tier ability, but the crazy Joker was handicapped due to his bloodlust, perversion and general insanity.

"Also, your brother had higher kills than Hisoka because somehow he managed to control some of my clones with stupid pins of his."

Naruto continued with a headshake, knowing that Nen based attack would also affect him and his clones.

"Hey! What about me fighting against Hisoka?"

Gon asked curiously.

"The pervert clown will rape you if given the chance so stay away from him!"

Gon gulped before laughing.

"Ahahaha, there's no way he would do that. Would he?"

"Don't say that I didn't tell you so."

Naruto warned and then returned his attention to Killua.

"You might able to stand up against Illumi for a while, but your chance of winning in a fair fight is low."

Killua sighed. He had expected that since he only recently learnt about Nen and was still a novice while Illumi had mastered it in the time he had.

"How small is it?"

"Let's see."

Naruto stood up, stretching a little.

"Remove all the seals and attack me with the intention to kill. I will measure how you fare against what little I knew of your brother. You can try as well, Gon, and I tell you where you stand against Hisoka since you want to fight him fair and square."

Killua and Gon nodded and stood up from the spot.

"I will go first."

Killua declared while releasing his Gravity and Restriction seal with a thought.

"Eh? I want to go first."

Gon argued.

"You owed me one from before."

Killua reminded Gon that he lost the arm wrestling earlier.

"Next time, I will win for sure!"

The silver-haired boy felt his body became much lighter while his senses sharpened.

The world around him slowed down, but that was only because his perception was much faster once the restriction was removed.

Lightning manifested itself around him, crackling menacingly in the air as an intense version wrapped itself around arms and fists.

Killua lowered his head a few millimeters before he lurched forward with impressive speed.

Naruto braced himself as Killua landed a thunder punch into the blond's guard with all his mustered strength.

The lightning bolt erupted forward upon impact, propagating through the Sage's armguard while charring his hand's flesh as if they were made of paper.

It zigzagged along the air between his arm and chest, drilling through his cloth to the soft flesh beneath.

Millions of volts were coursing through the Sage's body before emerging out his back and zapped the tree lines behind.

"Gahh…"

Naruto gasped in pain, feeling the extensive damage that was inflicted when being forcibly uplifted into the air by the bolt of lightning.

His heart had stopped during the interval before he landed neatly on solid ground again.

Naruto was pushed back at least a meter as he held his chest in discomfort.

"Ouch! That really hurts! If you punch Illumi with that, I'm sure he would be out of it for at least a few seconds. It's enough for you to follow up."

Naruto whined and rapidly healing his injury with his own power.

"But only if you can match his speed or trick him somehow."

Killua nodded but feeling a slightly tired when completing that technique. It must have taken quite a bit of energy out of him.

"I'm next."

Gon called out before holding his hand together.

"Jaganken: Rock!"

"NO SPECIAL ATTACK!"

Naruto shouted.

"Killua did his special attack so why can't I?"

Gon complained.

"I'm not target dummy. Test that on something else."

Naruto retorted with irritation. He wasn't about to just stand there and tank one of Gon's unrestrained attack that proved to be quite devastating.

It will be a match for one of Baa-chan's punches one day.

Frowning, Gon stopped charging his attack and entered another attacking stance. His aura swayed a little before disappearing completely from the outside.

It strengthened his muscles to great height before landing a punch into Naruto's hand-guards.

The blond Sage wasn't surprise by the power and speed of the strike as it was still within manageable range. He was surprised at something else.

Gon's presence disappeared completely in the instant before the assault.

"What do you thi–"

"Hang on a second… did Kurama taught you that?"

"Kurama taught me what?"

"That technique?"

"Huh? I didn't use any?"

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Really?"

"Stop that."

Killua decided to stop the idiotic conversation since it was not going anywhere.

"Naruto, can't you just explain what you are talking about?"

"Yeah, I don't know what you are actually talking about!"

Gon added.

"My bad…"

Naruto apologized.

"You won't reach it there anytime soon, but I guess I could tell you more about it now. Question! When you fight against an opponent that quicker than your eyes could follow, what do you do then?"

"Sense him through other means."

Killua answered while Gon was still thinking.

"I suppose. Okay… when your speed reaches a certain point, you can't rely on your eyes to see your opponent as they would be moving too fast. Your intuition and battle sense are what you should trust from then on to block assault and attack accurately."

"Huh? Why you tell us that now?"

"Because I couldn't sense Gon's presence at all when he attacked me."

Naruto answered with a sweat dropped.

"I wouldn't able to block his perfectly if he was much faster."
