Love Like A War ( 1 )

Part Three - Love like a war

In the small house at the end of Marberry St. stood Jesimay in the toddler's room singing her - recently two-year-old - daughter to sleep. Once the gorgeous diminutive human was dreaming, Jesimay left the room, gloomy her husband had yet to make an appearance... again.

When the mister did present himself, he was drenched in water and soaked in dread, " Where have you been?" It was twelve o'clock sharp - he got off at eight. Where had he been - sleeping with another? " Jesimay, I just got home, I am tired and I want to go to bed." She scoffed slightly - though it was barely noticeable. Ever since he's gotten this new job - almost a year ago - he hasn't been coming home until late.

He was neglecting his own child, whenever he meant to or not. Jimmy sighed at his wife's hostility towards him. Lately, their romance had been falling apart - no longer sweet and magical but constant fights that they leave both drained.

Done with this continuous pattern, Jesimay mumbles bitterly under her breath - leading to their worst fight ever, " That's what you always say. " Jimmy froze, none expressive. What was she getting at? Finally, after a stretched pause, he was able to spit out, " What? What are you saying?"

Agitated, his wife casually rolled her eyes, " I just find it funny that your schedule says you get off at eight but here you are at twelve o'clock and you're just now getting home?" Mr. Conner did have a classified fact he wasn't telling his wife but it was no affair - it was a plan for their anniversary

" I think you're exaggerating honey. " Jimmy slips out sarcastically. His wife angrily sucks in a breath, " Exaggerating?! You never come home! You never even see your own daughter! What kind of sick bastard does that?"

Astonished by Jesimay's newfound vocabulary, Jimmy did not speak as his wife continued to sprout profanity, " What kind of sick bastard leaves their child to fuck another woman?! " Woman? Did his wife come to the conclusion Jimmy was unfaithful?

" I have done no such thing! " Shouted Jimmy. Control was no longer on his mind - cursing and accusations will not prevail in this household! Jimmy was a rigorous Christian, right-hand man to the lord, and if he heard you using that language then he'd instantaneously kick you out " You will watch your tongue with that profanity Jesimay! Wife or not, my family shall not disgrace God by sin! "

Before Jimmy's startled wife could respond, a scared voice came from behind Jimmy in the hallway, " D-dad - tay? " Jimmy sighed as his eyes met those of his distressed daughter. " Hey pumpkin, did mommy and I wake you? " The toddler nodded, wiping her eyes that were full of tears.

" You mad at mom -may " Jimmy froze, not knowing what to tell her, " No - sweetie - daddy's not. " Akia looked towards her mother and suddenly gave an agitated look, " What's wrong pumpkin? "

" Me don't know. Me just feel mad. " Jimmy gave his daughter a look of pondering before dismissing the whole ordeal completely Displaying the emotions if a dream she had, his conclusion was.

" Well, it's late. You need to get back to bed." He picked Akia up and put her safely back into her bed. Jesimay - who has stood there silent the entire time - finally spoke as Jimmy came back into the living room, " If you haven't been cheating, then where have you been? "
