Mission's report

98%, 99%, ERROR

The word ERROR flickered on the display then another message came up

YOU HAVE TEN SECONDS TO RETEST IDENTIFICATION

"Fuck!" I muttered

"Ten seconds? No way i can get the correct ID under ten seconds" i looked at the panel and started biting my left thumbnail trying to think

'After ten seconds the alarms are going to go off, what do i do?'

With eight seconds left on the countdown i tried disconnecting the alarms from the panel, I tried but the alarms were connected wirelessly to the panel.

'Two seconds left, i could try destroying the entire panel that might do it but getting access into the blackroom won't be possible any longer, what do i do?"

Tension flooded my entire body, my joints stiffened, i hadn't been in an against the clock type situation like this before and then my time was up, i wasted to much of it thinking.

The alarms activated informing the security officers on the fifth floor, the wails blared continuously. I tried staying calm and not panic. Since i couldn't move forward my only option was to escape before i get caught but how was i going to do that, i needed a plan.

'The security teams are on the fifth floor probably trying to gain video feed of what's going on here but they can't because of the loop, meaning they will come rushing down here and it would take them about thirty seconds to come pouring out that elevator'

I looked to the elevator.

'I'm sure with the alarms activated it won't open from my side anymore. Thirty seconds, i need to buy more time'

I ran to the elevator, used the screwdriver to open the control panel and looked for the power cable, it was behind a small opening at the back of the panel so i tried sticking my hand through to grab it but my hand was a little to big to pass through.

'If i don't stop this elevator right now I'll get caught and I'll have to jump back to the future and there's no way i can get the Blackbox ever again'

With that in mind i brought back my hand from the panel and used my right hand the dislocate my left thumb.

"JESUS!" I screamed in pain cradling my left hand in my right, the pain caused tears to drop down my eyes and after five seconds i tried sticking my left hand back into the opening and it entered but only barely, i grabbed the power line with my remaining four fingers and yanked it out disconnecting the elevator from the generators and it stopped moving trapping the security officers inside.

'Even with the elevator stopped they could still go through the bottom hatch and descend to the subfloor and pry the doors open'

"I have to get out of here"

I re-coupled the elevator control panel and ran back to do same to the other door panels.

Finished with that i looked around the room for another way out and saw an air vent, poetic if i do say so.

The subfloor air vents don't connect to the other floor vents and even if it did i couldn't possibly climb vertically upwards, these vents connected to an observation room at least that's what it said on the blueprints and anywhere was better than here because i'm pretty sure the security team had already made their way down the hatch.

I found my way up and into the vents from where i watched as the security opened the elevator door and began searching the first room for an intruder which they didn't find and they couldn't enter the next room because they lacked clearance so they pressed a button by the door and flooded the next room with a gas, most likely sleeping gas and used heat monitors to check for any heat signature but nothing came up.

Being a bunch of obtuse idiots it would take an Engineer to know that something was wrong with the panels.

I began crawling through the vents quietly to avoid being notice and made it to the observation room. I stuck my head through the opening and looked around if someone was inside and saw it was vacant of workers then i descended from the vents.

There was nothing to place my footing on so i jumped down and sprained my ankle landing. I rested for about ten minutes to let the pain subside trying to massage it as the time passed.

After ten minutes i got up from the floor and started taking a look around the observation room, the walls were coated in all white, the floor as well, monitors at least two were stationed symmetrically. Behind me was a mirror wall, could be a two way mirror and in front of me were glass containment rooms about three of them positioned side by side with about one meter gap in between each.

In the middle containment room housed a silver furred rabbit, it was curled up at the back corner. I walked closer to the cage and placed my left hand on the wall, my thumb stung a little and it was still red from my dislocating it earlier then a display popped up on the wall, it was a scan of the rabbit showing temperature, heartbeat, brainwave and all that science stuff.

The heart was beating at a steady pace, brainwaves seemed normal, temperature was way below room temperature, maybe the rabbit was sick or something i didn't that know much about rabbits.

As i was looking at the scans the rabbit slowly raised its head and looked at me. I looked at it and then back at the scans, everything was still normal until out of nowhere the heartbeat and brainwaves spiked up. I was shocked at first then i looked back at the rabbit trying to discern what cause it.

The rabbit took a couple steps forward and then out of nowhere it darted at me slamming its head on the glass wall and falling to the ground.

I was taken aback, fear ran through my veins as my knees got weak and i fell to the floor butt first. My heart was pounding, respiring abruptly and still on the floor as the rabbit got up with head faced down then it entered into a backwards gait and got back to the corner it was earlier. The display on the wall started flaring up with WARNING sliding across.

The top corners of the cage opened up then a gas started filling the cage, a stranger purple coloured gas.

From the corner the rabbit started to walk by the side of the wall jostling itself with the wall, brushing its head along the wall as it slowly moved forward and backwards until the gas took effect and it went out cold.

I was still planted on the floor watching this strange showcase with head pushed far back and speechless and as the rabbit fell to sleep i pushed my head forward for a closer look peering at its face. It scans on the wall went back to normal and then i got up and dusted my school uniform with my right hand. My face still wore an expression of discomfort.

I didn't want anymore weird surprises like a vampire inside a trap door or something like that for example so i tried getting out of the room as soon as possible.

Luckily for me the Observation room had an elevator leading to the first floor. Only high staffed personals could enter and get down here but its a different story entirely going up, no identification what so ever was needed for that.

I ambled to the door as my ankle still hurt a little, trying to keep pressure off it. I pressed the control button and the elevator doors opened. I got in and pressed the button for the first floor and then the door closed back up and the elevator started to ascend. I moved back and rested my back on the elevator wall trying to pull my thought together.

The elevator doors opened and i brought my head out. I looked to the left and to the right and saw that nobody was in close proximity so i darted out limping and made my way for the staircases. I planned on going back to the sixth floor through the stairway. The camera feeds were still being looped so no one would catch me sneaking around like i am.

I made it back to the sixth floor and i entered from the exit door. Ducking and hiding beside desks to avoid Mrs Eunice from sighting me and i managed to do so until i got to Mr Nevel's door and tried to open it then someone held me by the shoulders

"Where were you?"
