Amid her determination, Amanda did not forget who she was up against. She was going to fight tooth and nail despite knowing that it could almost be considered a losing battle. However, she didn't want to put her daughters' lives in danger a second time. Hence that night after dinner, she had something to say to Lola.
"I'm telling you this because Mia is too young to understand. You might not understand some things either but once you are old enough, you will get better insight of what I'm telling you.
"Mommy, what do you want to tell me?" Lola dangled her legs at the side of the bed in anxiety. Her mother sounded too solemn and serious.
"I want to tell you about my family."
"The Caron family?" Lola's eyebrows knitted. Hadn't Amanda told her about that family already?
