Shera scrutinized him for a whole minute before taking out her phone. "To show you something."

"I do not want to see it." He dismissed without knowing what it was that she wanted to show him. Whatever it was, it was definitely not good.

Would Shera pay any heed to his refusal? Of course not. She wouldn't be Shera if she didn't force it on him.

Seeing her smug look as she swiped through her phone, he would be lying if he said that he was not in the least bit curious.

"I knew you wanted to see it." Shera tauntingly casted him a sidelong glance.

Livian watched her dial a number on her phone, and the more digits she inserted, the more curious he became. Why did those digits seem more and more like…?

"My mother's contact number." He concluded when she finished dialing.

"Your mother, huh." Shera sneered, her expression almost one of pity. "You consider Helen Qin as your mother… poor thing."
