Just when Livian made his way past her, Shera grabbed his wrist and dragged him right back onto the couch. He tilted his head to look at her, and she indifferently leaned back on the backrest. "Why are you already getting all fired up?" 

Livian cracked his knuckles in an attempt to alleviate the burning flames of rage in his heart. What was she saying? He asked, "You dropped such a bomb on me, and you don't expect me to get angry? Do you think that I don't have feelings?" Only the last strand of rationality stopped him from saying that he was not as feeling less as she was. 

Although he didn't say it, Shera knew what he was thinking. "You are still a little naïve. Sometimes, you are smart and at other times, it's as though you are out of character. Like right now."
