*Verb - action word in the sentence

*Linking Verb - is, are

*Auxiliary Verbs:

(1) Regular Verb - (modern verbs) ---> help, run, walk

(2) Irregular Verb - (old school mythological verbs) ---> conjugated to past form (Example: stand; stood)

*Active Verb - tangible; can be physically done

*Stative Verb - state of mentality

-----> cannot be physically done

----->cannot be in progressive form

-----> rather than saying, "I am loving this." You would say, "I loved this." Or, "I don't love this."

*Dynamic Verbs - can be active/stative

**Verb Forms:

(1) Base Form of the Verb: Nothing change

(2) Expressive Form: You add "is" or not add "s" (singular/plural)

(3) Progressive Form: You add "ing"

(4) Past Form:

--->You add "d" or "ed" (regular)

--->change the spelling (irregular)

(5) Past Participle: You add "has" or "have"

-----> non - main verb linking to the verb

**Examples:

- has run

- has sung

**Another Examples:

Lie: Lying ---> Lay ---> Lain

Lay: Laying ---> Lain ---> Lain

Be (is, are): Being ---> Was/Were ---> Been

Do/Does: Doing ---> Did ----> Had

Has/Have: Having ----> Been ---> Had

*Tenses: Past -----> Present ----> Future

*Simple: +S -----> +D/ED -----> +Will

*Continuous Progressive: Am/Is Are + ING ----> Was/Were + ING ---> Will be + ING

*Perfect: Has/ Have + Past Participle ----> Had + Past Participle ----> Will Have + Past Participle

*Perfect-Continuous Progressive: Has/ Have +Been + ING ----> Had+Been+ING ---> Will Have +Been+ING
