The long hidden secret

I deliberated for a few minutes planning my stretegy. I once thought of calling in Lily and Charlie but whoever this person is surely wants to meet me alone so I disregarded the thought. I have the ability of physically and mentally shielding myself from attacks but it needs lots of concerntration which I cannot hold for more then few minutes at a time. But it should be enough to protect me and Alice in the time of need. So I decided to go.

When I entered the school building, I smelled something repulsive fixed with faint scent of Alice. Suddenly I saw a shape emerge from my peripheral vision. I immediately bent into crouch ready to attack. But it was Alice.

" Bella.. " she said in relief. " I knew you would come to find me. I want to tell you something important. But first I want you to meet someone."

A figure appeared from behind Alice.

" ..." I was speechless. How in the world Edward is here with Alice. Its impossible. Yet he is here standing in front of me, smiling at me. Only words that came through my mouth were " How?"

Alice came towards me slowly. She hold my hand and started speaking apologetically " Its really my fault Bella. I didn't know and I never allowed him to explain."

" Just wait a sec.. What the hell are you talking about? How Edward is here with you? I want to know every single thing and don't you dare lie to me." I was feeling confused and angry at the same time. A little relieved to have found Alice but that was only a little part. What I wanted right now was my answers.

" So I will start from the beginning.. " Alice said starting to answer my queries. " When 50 years ago that tragedy happened with us. It turned me into vampire but you were still human. We didn't wanted to turn you so soon coz you were still young, barely in your 16s. And you had someone.. Edward. I wanted you to have all the lovely human experience before you were long gone."

" I know that. Why are you telling me all this? And Where does it relate to you being with Edward now?" I asked angrily.

"Don't you see Bella.. Edward is not human. He couldn't have been still young after all these years." Alice stated.

" And you knew it from starting. Didn't ya? And you lied to me. Hurt me. I hate you both." I said with pain but my eyes were dry. It felt strange.

" No.. no Bella. You are getting it all wrong." Edward said interrupting me. " See it was not her fault. All she did was to protect you from me. You see I am not human but I am not vampire either. I am a ..

WEREWOLF"

Silent fell in the room. I could hear a heart beat but no sound of breath and that smell. Light dawned on me. So it was Edward's smell. of course. But with his short explanation came many more questions in my mind. But before I started asking Alice continued from where Edward left " Yes and When I became vampire I could smell him. Lily and Charlie have told me about Werewolves and how different they smell. I was shocked to find out when I got that smell from you after your date with him. I understood immediately. But unfortunately I didn't give him time to explain his side. I just took you out of his reach where he couldn't harm you."

"So that was the f* ing reason you never told me even though I gave you such hard times since 50 years. Why didn't you just tell me?"

I asked feeling a bit guilty.

" Because that would have hurt you and maybe you would come back to find him. I didn't wanted any harm to come to you." She said smiling a warm smile at me.

But this didn't answer my my first question, what are they doing here? She sensed the question in my head and started explaining " So well when I was doing inquiries about Jacob, I came to know he just have a mother with whom he live outside Portland. But his house and air around him sensed funny. Almost charged. Which is strange if you are a human. So I searched school records and found he has a connection from Seattle. First I thought I wouldn't come here and tell you that he is not good for you as I was sensing but I have already broken your heart once and I didn't have it in me to do that again. So I ignored my better judgement and came here to find information but fate had something else in store. I bumped into Edward and the rest I could read from his thoughts you could say. " She said abruptly ending her explanation.

I pondered for few minutes. It was a lot to take in. It did answer my most of the questions but still left a few unanswered.
