Logan: "You know I can fly right?" Logan asked as he rode beside a covered and cloaked figure, both of them riding camels through the Vacuo desert.

???: "I can't." The figure responded curtly, their voice feminine in tone.

Logan: "I could have carried you." Logan told them.

???: "Over my dead body." The figure growled at Logan, sounding far less feminine. "I'll kill you if you try."

Logan: "Just saying." Logan told the figure, subtly shifting some ash around. "His heat is annoying," Logan spoke, shifting the topic away from him flying and carrying the figure.

???: "It's a mild day." The figure said after a few moments.

Logan: "It's 106(F) degrees (41*C)," Logan pointed out, nearly shouting. "How is that mild in any sense of the word?"

???: "Would you rather have it be 127(F) (52*C) on a bad day?" The figure asked.

Logan: "Never mind." Logan backed off and the two of them fell into a peaceful silence.

.

It had been almost a month since Magus asked for Logan to come to his base. Since then, Logan had been helping him search for the other Maidens that were currently unknown. Raven had been easy to get after she got drunk after finally getting to hug Yang without her curse activating, considering it a win over the curse. That, and Logan was sure that Tai had TWO wives now that he could share a bed with.

.

Currently, Loga was being led towards a remote tribe that had been occupying one of the small oases in Vacuo's border regions. The reason being was that there have been numerous rocky outcrops that have been popping up in the region that had been messing up their maps of the area. Numerous reports have been sent saying that the tribe had been blessed with the power of the Brother Gods. Logan was called in to verify the reports and do a full investigation of the claims.

.

Unfortunately, Logan couldn't do the job alone due to the Headmistress of Vacuo wanting a pair of her own eyes to verify the claims. Even though Logan's words have a very heavy weight to them, the Headmistress of Vacuo always wants someone she could trust to verify something. These reports could make or break Vacuo as a whole. If the person in question could turn sand into stone or even raise stone from deep underneath the earth, then they could easily build or destroy any city in Vacuo.

.

For Logan, it was a Friday afternoon.

[With Jaune Arc]

.

Jaune sighed as he tried to look like he was taking notes as he and his team sat through another one of Port's stories from his youth. Doing his best to not fall asleep to the monotonous tone that Port seemed to produce naturally and without conscious thought. Nora was already asleep and leaning on Ren who wasn't far behind her. Pyrrha was dozing on and off while trying to glean any information she could from the story.

.

When Pyrrha finally fell asleep, she leaned against Jaune who was on the verge of passing out. Jaune then glanced over to RWBY to see how they were faring in hopes of keeping himself awake. What he saw didn't help. Ruby was doodling in a notebook, Weiss was going over notes from another class, Blake was reading one of her books, and Yang was out cold with her head on her desk.

.

Soon the bell rang, signaling the end of the class and awakening those that had fallen asleep. Several heads shot up as soon as they heard the bell with one, Yang, falling out of their seat.

.

Port: "Oh, shoot. Timed that one wrong." Port grumbled. "Oh well. Anyway, time for your next class, hop to it! You don't have time to be late!" He called out to his class as they started packing. "Remember, I want those reports on Grimm worms of Vacuo on my desk by Monday!"

.

Jaune sighed as he and the rest of the class began to pack up their things. The clicks of pens closing and the clacks of pencil cases being shut echoed throughout the classroom as each student began to move. For JNPR, this was where they separated.

.

For Jaune and Nora, they had Weapons Upkeep with Professor Mulberry, the lazy steampunk professor. While Ren and Pyrrha had Plant Sciences with Doctor Peach, the pint-sized professor that gets mistaken for a kid constantly. Each having their own issues with the classes.

.

Soon enough, the classes for the day ended peacefully and slowly as both Teams JNPR and RWBY slugged their ways towards their dorms. Without so much as a word between the two teams, they all dropped their bags down and fell to the floor. Several of them groaned in relief and happiness at being able to relax for one.

.

Jaune: "Finally, it's over." Jaune complained as he pulled his blazer off. "I still wonder how Mulberry still keeps his job, all he ever does is sleep in his classes."

Nora: "Sleepy... pancakes... lilypad..." Nora mumbled before she started snoring while leaning against Ren.

Yang: "At least he doesn't have you handle things like ironwort." Yang complained. "That stuff itches like crazy." She emphasized this by showing a rash on her hand, doing her best not to itch it.

Pyrrha: "I understand," Pyrrha agreed as she pulled some antibacterial whips out and passed a few to Yang. "As much as the class is useful, I don't care for the stuff.

Weiss: "At least you didn't try to record Doctor Oobleck." Weiss spoke up, showing her scroll in her hand. "All I got out of it was garbled speech and motion blurs.

Ruby: "I know I'm the one with a speed-type semblance," Ruby said, "but even I have trouble keeping up with him." She groaned. "I thought my brain was going to turn to mush from how fast he was talking."

Blake: "Yet, none of you had back-to-back classes with Professor Port." Blake pointed out. "All he ever does is talk about his youth. Grimm studies are one thing, but add on to that with his career history that he goes on about during Military Strategy, I almost fell asleep within thirty minutes.

.

They all sighed and began to pull their homework out to start it, each one of them wanting the two-day break they had tomorrow to be free to do what they want. Jaune and Pyrrha helped where they could with Grimm Studies while Ruby pointed out inconsistencies in their Weapons Upkeep reports. Ren managed to get and keep Nora awake enough for her to start her work; though he had to keep at it with kisses to keep her awake. Blake and Weiss went around and helped where others had issues and got help themselves.

.

Not long after, the two teams headed off to bed since it was getting late into the night. Most of their work was done or was nearly completed.

[With Glynda]

.

Glynda huffed as she and Dorothy had a stare-off. Dorothy was clean while Glynda was covered in milk that she was trying to feed Dorothy. After a bit of back and forth, Dorothy finally was fed, burped, and put to sleep for the night.

.

Glynda sighed as she got herself cleaned up and relaxed for the night, having a sub look after her work as she took care of Dorothy while Logan was gone. She was slightly unhappy with sleeping alone, having come to miss Logan's warmth as he slept next to her over the years. Now she could only count the days until he would return. Thoughts of having Salem watch Dorothy for the night while Glynda 'welcomed' him back did appear but were quickly pushed down.

.

'First, make sure he's okay and rested.' Glynda thought. 'Then, jump his bones till they break.'

.

With another sigh, Glynda got ready for bed before checking on Dorothy one last time. As she lay in bed, she couldn't help but notice the missing weight and warmth that Logan would provide when he was there. One annoyed grunt later, Glynda did her best to fall asleep without Logan.

[Back With Logan]

.

Logan sighed as he felt the bone-chilling air of the desert's night blow past him and his companion. Logan sat at the entrance of a small cave they found and cleared of any scorpions and snakes. As his companion slept, Logan couldn't as he missed the warmth of Glynda and the presence of Dorothy.

.

Logan shook his head as he gazed out into the dusty and ever-shifting landscape that was the Vacuo desert. Miles upon miles of dry and desolate sand. A few scrubby bushes dotted the few bits that could sustain them. Logan had kept a silenced rifle next to him to pick off the stray Grimm or stray sand viper.

.

Logan raised the rifle and shot once and a Grimm stalker, a snake-like Grimm with arms and legs, dropped dead after it poked its head over a dune. The figure farther in their cave didn't even stir as Logan shot, fully trusting him.

.

Logan sighed after making sure that the coast was clear before retiring back into the cave. After using his ash to form a wall so nothing but air could get in, Logan fell to his bedroll intent on trying to sleep the night away.

[A/n: This was going to be longer, but I figured I would at least post a chapter and an update as to what's going on.

One, I'm still in the hospital with just my phone and laptop and I'm still under watch since my blood tests came back wonky.

Two, I am NOT dropping this and will continue to its end

Three, I had very little sleep so sorry if this was lackluster.

That's all ~Hawkin
