It's been a month since Brax's seventh birthday. He finally completed the seventh Astral takeover ritual yesterday. The past month has been quite fruitful for Brax. He has been spending a large amount of his time in the training room and using his room only for sleeping. True to his father's boastings, the training room was well equipped. It had a dueling ring and also some dummies for target practice. There were also different sets of weights for him to exercise.
Brax decided to work hard on making his body a weapon on itself. The book he got on how to training one's body has been very useful for training his body. For the past one month, Brax had followed a daily routine. He exercises for 2 hours in the morning and after refreshing himself with a hot bath; He reads the material that he brought from the library up to 3 in the afternoon. After that, he practices the spells which he has learned in the study session. Later In the night, he would start practicing Legilimency with the help of the Eye of Astral.
Casting Spells was Brax's most favorite part of the day. The first spell Brax learned was "LUMOS" from a beginner level charms book. It was a spell that Brax saw a lot in the HP movies. Even before casting any spell, Brax had it engraved in him the importance of "Intent" and "Will" while casting a spell. Adding to that enhancements on his mind and his mastery at several levels of occlumency, casting spells came easily to him.
He followed a two-way process in mastering spells. First, he learned a spell in an orthodox way, which was casting a spell through incantation and wand movement. After getting a feel on how his magic is responding to each spell, he tried to do it without wand movements and incantation. Brax had tremendous success in following this approach. His spell repertoire was exploding with every passing day.
Due to Brax's high affinity to fire magicks. curses, charms relating to fire came easily to him. Some of his most favorite fire spells include a fire whip, fire breath which produces a vast amount of fire from his wand tip. After seeing his success in learning fire spells with ease, He decided to first master all the fire spells. Except for the spells like "Fire Whip" and "Fire Breath" all the other spells were parlor tricks. But it still helped Brax in understanding a tiny bit on how his magic is responding to "FIRE".
The one spell he desperately searched in the books was FIENDFYRE. But the books he brought from the library did not have any information on it. Brax thought that such dangerous spells must on the other section of the library. Since he is already busy with these subjects, he decided to pursue this after he got more access to the library.
But in this one month, the one thing that surprised him was how talented he was in Transfiguration. It came only second to his talent in fire spells. Brax found out that like all other magicks transfiguration was never about theory but rather about "will" and "intent". Gellert Grindelwald has written the books wonderfully. If it wasn't for his books, he would have not progressed the way he did this month.
In his books, Gellert Grindelwald mentioned one needs to start transfiguration with learning wand movements and spell incantation. While doing transfiguration one must remember how one's magic is responding to the caster's call. After that one must replace the spell incantation and movements with pure "will" and "Intent". The other part of Transfiguration is CONJURATION. Brax is not still in the budding stages of Transfigurations it will take him some time before practicing CONJURATION.
Brax found out from both practice and Grindelwald's books, some drawbacks, and limitation of Transfiguration. The amount of time a transfiguration will hold depends on how much magic on puts into it. the amount of magic to perform transfiguration depends on what material you doing it and into what material you are converting it into.
CONJURATION is even more demanding. There several more conditions or laws regarding this branch of transfiguration. But even with such heavy demands Brax always enjoyed practicing transfiguration because these books by Grindelwald are more into battle transfiguration than normal transfiguration. Converting your environment to your advantage is crucial in any battle. And now that he got his hands on to the knowledge to achieve this, He will not waste a moment till he mastered this.
Even though Battle transfiguration became Brax's new favorite. His interest in Runes never diminished. He already finished one more book on RUNES this month and was eager to finish more. Brax's progress in Mind arts also progressed well in the past month. He already mastered the first 2 levels in legilimency. The Eye of Astral helped him in practicing these two levels by creating a virtual mind with some false memories.
Brax also from time to time practiced on Brood by reading his surface thoughts. He didn't want to delve deeper into the mind of the house-elf because god knows what will be there inside their brain.
Today you can see Brax holding on to the Mind Arts Book and reading on how to master level 4 of occlumency. Yesterday he completed the seventh Astral takeover Ritual and completed the precondition of learning next levels of occlumency. He was keen on learning the next levels of occlumency. Brax wanted to finish mastering mind arts at least the Occlumency part so that he can concentrate more on other branches of magic.
