Looking at the hand before me for about an hour. He raises an eyebrow at me. I finally realize that's he's actually treating me like a human and not some freak, I immediately blush out of embarrassment. I grab his hand and shake firmly. "Hey I'm Kale" I say to him.
"Kale?" he questions
"Yeah" I say
"Like the vegetable?" He asks
"Exactly" I respond
He smirks at me causing me to advert his gaze.
"Well Kale, I just transferred here and I'm not all that familiar where my classes are. Do you mind taking me to my home room"
As soon as he finished his sentence the bell sounded. I was officially late. "Shit" I say. His smile immediately drops. He wrinkles his eyebrows. "I'm sorry, I must have made you late by talking" he says to me.
"Oh no your fine" I reply feeling bad for making him feel bad. His smile slowly returns. He has a cute smile I think to myself.
"So what's your homeroom number? I'll walk you there" I say to Mervy.
"It's 205" he says looking at a piece of paper. "great that's the same as mine" I say happily.
I start walking and he walks next to me. I ask if I can see the rest to his sheet to tell him where the rest of his classes are. He hands it to me,smirking. As I read his class list I find out we are in the same home room and also take American lit and algebra II together. As we approach the room I ask if he is good at math he laughs and says yes. Before we enter I laugh in return, "good because I suck at it and we are in the same math class."
Mervy is a nice guy.
Entering the classroom the teacher scolds me for being late. I don't say anything to defend my self and just quietly and quickly head to my seat next to Tori. After she finishes fussing at me she turns to Mervy. She smiles and extends her hand for him to shake it. Her thin lips curl into a smile. "You must be Mr. Wright" she says. Mervy respectfully shakes her hand "Mervy, will do just find ma'am" he replies. "Very well Mervy, please pick any empty seat" she says while she motions towards the desk. He nods and starts to head towards the back.
He sits in front of me. Well technically he sitting in-front of the girl that sits in-front of me. He leans towards his left I lean as well. He turns around and looks at me. He mouthes a extravagant thank you. I giggle at his silly antics. I mouth an extravagant your welcome. He silently laughs and turns back around as the teacher resumes going over the morning briefing before we are dismissed to first period.
As homeroom is done I stand up. Tori looks at me funny. "What" I ask. "Oh I don't know, maybe your just a little to friendly to a new student." He says questionable. "Omg Tori no, I just met him first off, he doesn't even know me second of all, lastly I'm completely devoted to Chris" I answer matter of factly. I blush at the last bit and he laughs and punches me in the arm. Mervy, Tori and I are all in American lit for first period . As we head down to class together I introduce them to one another.
The only empty seat in American lit is towards the front. So Mervy can't really sit next to each other. I wish he could sit next to me and Tori he seems like a nice guy. I think we could really be good friends. Remembering the word friends reminded me of all the friends I've lost after coming out freshman year. Losing friends, I hope Mervy doesn't hate me after finding out about me being gay and all. That's train of thought brought me to Chris. Aguhhhhh I yelled in my inside head. Why mind why must you bring him up.
Looking up I see him enter the classroom. My mind instantly turns into mush. He laughs at something his friends that entered with him said. God his laugh is so sexy. He starts heading back to his seat which is horizontal placed from my own seat. After he sits down he looks directly at me. I blush and turn away facing the window to my right. I can see his reflection in the window his smile softens almost looking dejected. But I know better he's not dejected, he's probably making fun of me anyway. But he didn't seem like that kind of person in the park? I contemplate in my mind.
My phone buzzes on silent mode, making the vibration in my back pocket startle me. Before I pull it out I look at the clock on the wall. I've got six minutes before class starts. Taking out my phone I turn it on. Looking at my lock screen I see the notification that came in, well at least I thought it was a notification. It was a text message from Chris.
*Chris*
"Why didn't you look at me? Are we not cool?"
Reading the text twice just to make sure what it says is right. Taking a deep breathe I try to muster up a reply. But, I have no idea what to say. Instead I turn away from the windows and look at him. His gaze was already focused on me with his phone in his hand. I give him a nervous smile and an awkward smile. He smirks and waves back. He keeps starring at me while I blush like a tomato. He finally turns around when the bell signals that class has started. Putting my phone in my pocket and my materials out for this class I take a huge breath and give out an even larger exhale.
Tori taps me in the shoulder. He leans and whispers in my ear. "I didn't know you were that faithful to your man" he says with a smirk. My face is flushed with hues of red.
Two things stayed with for that class. My American lit paper is due next week and my life is so fucked up.
