Isolation

10.

My phone was confiscated, I was confined to my room and Aunt Alice guarded my door when Mom wasn't around. In short, I was jailed in my own house. Well, I could only blame myself. For the Jacob part, I was still angry at both my parents for not fighting for my cause. Theo, the master head did send a formal letter two days after his visit, saying that I breached the code of the school, thus my expulsion.

The worst was not seeing Jacob and not hearing his voice. On the fourth day, it was nearly painful to be away from him. I could feel his own anguish through our link. To make my parents guilty of punishing me, I went on a diet. It was my only way to pressure them, I was a political prisoner. Hunger was my only weapon.

"Renesmee Carlie Cullen!" shouted Dad from the other side of the door. "You are going to stop this nonsense right now!" I curled under my blue blanket with multicolored whales. I'd had only water since this morning and my stomach was slowly notifying me that it existed with slight burns. This was one of the lesser of the two evils. The fury standing on the other side of the door was the worst kind of monster.

"What are we going to do?" asked Alice, her voice laced with worry.

"I'll call Carlisle, I'm sure this stubborn girl will like some perfusion to get her in her right mind," he chuckled. Well, I wasn't fond of needles. Still, I won't let him scare me into submission. When only silence answered his threats, Dad stomp to the end of the corridor. Making it clear how angry he was. When you're a human, it seemed natural to see angry people make a fuss, but with vampires, it's tricky, since they glide noiselessly away instead of walking. Dad was making a lot of effort to try to move me from my position.

"I'm going to call him," he warned. I rolled my eyes at his obvious attempts. They quietly went away and left me alone. I snudged my pillow and called upon Jacob. I couldn't get an answer since we haven't mated yet but felt his presence.

"I miss you," I muttered on my pillow before falling asleep.
