I didn't know how to act social without her so I end up looking like a wet chicken when I see one if the people she greeted when I was with her, wave at me or smile at me when I was not with her. The worst is I forget their names. I never forget a face doesn't mean I know where I saw the face. Besides I have better things to remember than the names of inconsequential people.
In the end I got home by 4 exhausted and tired. I ate and had my bath immediately. Sleeping off just as I lay on the bed. I didn't see any of my roommates in the room and I could not be more thankful.
Hallelujah
I woke up to the sound of the alarm on my phone ring. The alarm could have risen up the dead. Infinix should be a China phone to be honest.
"I looked at my phone and sighed. 6 missed calls. Emeka had called twice. Chika once, Joseph twice and my Dad." Sighing I dropped the phone on the bed. I felt refreshed and better after sleeping.
I called Emeka back immediately not bothering to go outside. The rest can wait. I didn't care which of my roommates heard the conversation. I didn't listen to theirs and even when I did, I didn't care. If they could not mind their business then by all means they should humor me and listen.
"Hey babe." He said immediately he picked and I smiled. This was a routine my adventurous mind did not mind having. HEY BABE
"Hey. Good evening. How are you?" I said in a rush, as if I had little time to get all I wanted to say out my damn mouth.
"Good evening. I'm good." He paused.
"Can we see?
"Yes. Sure I'm coming." I replied hanging up immediately.
I rushed to the bathroom to brush my teeth and sprayed my favourite perfume from smart collection. It was a designer perfume my ex ex got for me. I had three but I loved this best. I took the way I smelt as my utmost concern. It was even more important to me than the way I looked.
I cleaned my face with baby wipes since I didn't need to bath again. Deciding not to park my hair I let it fall loose. Then I combed my eyebrows.
Staring at the mirror, I wasn't satisfied with the way I looked.
My face was looking kind of puffy as a result of just waking up from sleep so I decided to put on an earring and it worked magic.
"I'm coming back now." I told Ada who was just entering into the room.
"Are you not coming to the chapel is already past 7?" She asked like she cared. I fought the urge to snort. She was just Jealous I was breaking the rules and she couldn't.
Smiling and holding the door I looked back and shook my head. And then I flew out of the room banging the door behind me.
