To Sun Mei's surprise, Yu Zan didn't find this incident as embarrassing as she did.
"I can't believe you watched Mulan and then slept in each other's arms. That is literally my dream date!"
"Is it? Anyway, it was Disney's Mulan."
Yu Zan sighed. "I would settle for Disney's Mulan as long as I had a guy to watch it with."
Sun Mei could tell that this was what Yu Zan wanted to talk to her about. This was the secret she wanted to share.
"Okay, what's wrong?" she asked her.
"I have a confession to make."
"Go ahead."
"I signed us up for this yoga class because I heard that Parker Qin was taking it."
Sun Mei stared at her with a perplexed expression. "I didn't see him in there. Did I fall asleep that early?"
"No, you fell asleep at exactly the right time. He just never came."
"Why? Did he lie to you?"
Yu Zan looked thoughtful. "I don't think so, he's too sincere to do that. I probably just confused the classes. There's also a morning class."
Sun Mei stared at her. "Let me get this straight. You dragged me to this class and made me bend my body backwards in ways it was never meant to bend just so that you could bump into a guy who never showed up?"
Yu Zan nodded. "Yes, that sums it up."
"Okay, you're definitely treating me."
"What? Come on! I'm the heartbroken one here!"
"What are you heartbroken over? Picking the wrong time? That's just something to feel dumb over."
"Thanks, Sun Mei."
"You're welcome. And for the record, I'm not available in the mornings."
"Yes, I know. You have to wake up next to Mr. Wu."
"Hey, low blow! That was unintentional!"
Yu Zan smirked. "So you claim."
In the end, Yu Zan did treat her because Sun Mei pointed out that she had paid a monthly yoga subscription for her sake. When they left the coffeehouse, Sun Mei addressed that issue.
"Do we still have to go? Or could we get a refund?"
"I swear you are the laziest person I have ever met."
"I'll have you know that I am a very hardworking person."
"Not when it comes to working out."
"I used to play basketball in high school. I think that counts."
"You? Basketball?" Yu Zan widened her eyes in shock. "You are barely taller than Lily!"
Sun Mei scowled at her. "I said I played. I didn't say I made the national team."
"Did you make your school's team?"
"I was a benchwarmer."
"That's a no."
"Hey, I was on the team. I got to wear a jersey!"
"Still doesn't count. We are going to yoga."
Sun Mei tried to change Yu Zan's mind in vain, but if she was honest, she really didn't care. She just kept arguing with her to keep her mind off Parker Qin and her dumb mistake. Sometimes friends had to make sacrifices.
Maybe she could ask Mr. Wu to intervene and arrange a meeting with Parker Qin...
