Equipping Oneself (1)

Leon got off his bed and opened his window.

He stealthily climbed out his window and on to the ground. His body fluxes with red aura that absorbed the shock.

Leon stood on the garden grass and looked at the house. "They are still asleep, he looked at the sky and saw the flame like ball dimmer then it was during the day. "That fire is also weakening just like it was in my past life."

Leon walked to the pond his houses garden.

He got near the edge and then quietly crawled in to the water. His body sinked in and disappeared, with only the ripple on the surface as evidence.

The pond wasn't too deep, barely three meters, it had a few fish swimming and some plants growing on the bottom and side.

While holding his breath, Leon swam down and found a boulder a bit bigger then him building up the pond walls. Leon moved to the side, put his back against the boulder and his feet against a nearby ledge for support. Then like a spring expanding he pushed the boulder to the side. His hands and feet glowed red as the slaughter qi.

The sudden spike in force gave the boulder a big enough push that a was revealed from behind it. The water was blocked by an invisible wall and didn't enter but Leon happily slid in.

Leon got up and sat next to a wall of a cave while taking heavy breaths he looked inside the cave and smiled.

"If the heavenly lightning wasn't restricting my slaughter qi I could have moved that boulder with a finger." Leon then got up and looked into the cave.

The inside of the cave had a large intimidating copper door. It had two rising fire birds, similar to the emblem of the Flamesmith clan on it. Between the two birds was a circle. With in the circle was more smaller circles. There were around twelve smaller circles each of unique size. The internal circles were randomly placed and formed some type of key pad.

This copper door was for the secret treasury of the Flamesmith clan. It was suppose to be a list resort of the Clan. If the Clan was at the point of being destroyed or completely wiped out, this treasury was suppose to be used by a few summoners to take what they can and then use the escape passage inside it to run away.

It wasn't just his house that had this in the garden, all houses had some type of secret escape passage somewhere in their house.

But it was properly protected so not just anyone could enter, Underneath the key pad was a space cut out for some type of Pentagon like token to be placed in.

"The treasury can be unlocked by using the clan token. But doing it that way you would alert the clan head and the elders." Leon thought as he walked to the door. He arrived in front and looked at the circles that were above his head.

Another way to enter is by tapping these circles on the door in a particular. Each time you open it you add another tap on a different circle, increasing the pattern. This makes it so at one time only one person knows the way to enter.

Leon cracked his knuckles and got ready to enter the pattern.

"Other then a treasury this door also leads to secret escape routes. I remember the pattern that my grandmother had entered, but that had happened in the future. If I enter the same one the door should unlock on one of the last few taps."

Leon nimbly moved his fingers on and entered the pattern. Pressing in the circles in the exact orde he rememberer.

*Binnng* *Binnng* *Binnng* ...

(sound of the circles being pressed)

After pressing a circle it would light up and from the middle, the spot would then pulse out to the border of the circles. Like ripples in a puddle the circles collided and created this serene image. After tapping in around fifty circles.

*Kachink*

*Drrrrrrrrrrrr*

The circles turned and with a loud clang the door dragged it self open.

"The whole pattern was needed so no one enters this place for the next 7 years at least."

Leon then walked into the darkness behind the copper door.

...

The treasury was mostly dark. It had a few glowing orange stones on the ceiling they almost provided no light.

Leon had his eyes red with the slaughter qi. It let him see in the dark. As one of the most basic functions of the slaughter qi was to provide him with enhanced senses.

The room itself was quite big. It had tall shields like the library but these shelves were mostly empty and dusty.

The concept for this treasury was actually quite ancient and out dated. So only a few things were kept here. It was basic things for survival, such as money, weapons, arts and food.

"But I do remember seeing some useful things." Leon scanned around as he walked into the space between the shelves in front.

He saw that these shelves were rather empty and had cobwebs streaching over them.

Leon felt these webs were quite strong. He looked up and saw a golden spider.

It was hung onto a golden thread as it dangled. It's body mechanical, with hinges and metallic sheen. The spider was a meter big but it well so it was barely noticeable, it was hard to tell it had elemental energy, even harder to tell that this was the guardian of this treasury.

Leon pulled out the slaughter qi into his hand. He manipulated it into a throwing knife. This was all the slaughter qi he could control at the moment. Most of it was still recovering while the rest was in a constant battle to keep the heavenly lightning in place.

The spider woke up, it was scared, it needed to alarm the clan. But before it could do anything, a beam of red light flashed out. The knife pierced the spiders head and went straight through, with the blade coming out from the other side. However it didn't make a cut in the spider, it was like it was illusionary.

The slaughter qi entered the spider and layered over all it's insides. It then froze in place, the spider was completely paralyzed.

Leon looked at the spider and he could destroy it but that would alert the Clan head. He would also be leaving evidence since the spider knew he had entered. Be would have left when it comes to again.

Leon didn't bother to look at anything in the clan treasury, what the came for was the gold, he had already used all his money so he needed to prepare before he left to kill a beast to cultivate the .

He would like to take everything but he didn't have any where to carry all of the things here. Other then the pouch on his side he didn't carry anything else.

Leon walked to the fifth shelf. It was filled with pills of gold coins, Leon took a few and filled his pouch. He had around 300 gold inside the pouch. He weighed and it and was heavy.

"This should be enough, I'll come back for the rest in a few days." Leon then walked back to the open copper door.

Along the way something got his attention. It was a bottle filled with a white liquid. Leon hadn't been planning on taking anything else, but this else but this bottle wasn't something he hadn't seen in his past life.

"Rune enhancing fluid? This could actually be something useful. It will delay me another day but it's better then rushing and dying." Leon grabbed the thin cylindrical test tube like bottle.

He decided to check the shelves of there was anything light and would be useful. He didn't find anything else he would need.

As he walked out the door automatically started closing. A red light flashed through the air and entered Leon.

*Dhannnng*

*Kachink*

It shut and locked again.

Leon reached the boulder again. He jumped back into the wall of water. He put the pouch and the bottle on the bed of the pond. He then pulled the boulder back in place.

He swam out and a lowly got out of the pond. With some quick movements Leon climbed the tree again. He then jumped onto his window, his feet covered with red aura. He silently landed and opened the window.

Leon changed his clothes kept the pouch underneath his bed and collapsed onto his bed. He fell asleep.
