Team Training

Pace and Anastasia flew next to Leon. The three listened as Irene explained more on the competition. She brought them to an open area. It was still possible to see the large towers in the distance.

Oren appeared next to Irene and took over, "All of you form into teams of three."

The people split quick and one person was left out. Leon had formed a team with Pace and Anastasia like always they watched Oren and occasionally talked.

Oren swept his eyes through the teams and the one person, "Good! Now I want one person from each team to raise there hand. You have one second."

Leon looked at the others. They all wanted to raise the hand. With no time to decide all three raised their hand.

From the other groups some only had one person while some had none.

Oren didn't seem to care whether one person rained their hand in the group or not, "I want everyone that rised their hand on the right and everyone else on the left."

The nineteen people split.

Oren pointed at two people in the left group, "You should be number nineteen and eighteen. Come here." Oren didn't seem to remember any of the names, he called them out using their ranks.

"You two pick a person from the group on the right."

The two didn't discuss. They didn't know each other any way. One of them pointed at Leon, "I want to have him in our team." The other also agreed.

Everyone of the nineteen knew who Leon was. Seeing him get first in the writing exam and be first in the Fire point rank it was impossible not to know him.

"Number one you'll be with these two." Oren didn't seem to care. He then started forming the other groups. Soon with more pickings and choosing, six teams formed with one that had four members.

"You all will be fighting in an aerial battle. It will be three vs three. I'll give you all a team number." He then proceeded to give every team a number.

"Now the rules are simple. You all have to fight in the sky. Each team is only allowed to summon three beasts. During the fight you can not change the beasts. If Any one of your team members hit the ground, that team will lose. The other way to win would be to have the other team give up."

"Now team four vs five. Start the battle."

The two teams discussed a little and flew up into the sky. Both teams had all members summon a beast each.

Leon was in team one, so he wasn't fighting. He had already separated from Pace and Anastasia, Pace was in team three while Anastasia was in team six. They had gone to meet their other members, Leon also did the same.

He walked to the two other members of his team. The two were already talking and discussing a plan. One if them saw Leon, his eyes Lit up and smiled. He stopped talking to the other person and ran up to Leon. He put out his hand and introduced himself.

"Hi Leon, I'm Upton Burns, I hope we can cooperate together." Upton said with his hand out.

Leon nodded, This was the person who chose him from the crowd, "It seems you already know who I am, so I won't be introducing myself."

The other boy who was annoyed by Upton rudely leaving in the middle of what he was saying walked up and nudged Upton to the side. He put out his hand out and said, "I'm Haris Nightflame, I was telling Upton my plan but since you joined I'll start again."

Leon could already see his teammates weren't getting along, he had already planned on handling the whole fight himself so he didn't bother addressing the problem.

From the two he hadn't heard of Upton but he had heard of Harris, rather he had heard of the Nightflame Clan. The Nigthflame clan was rather small and unknown like the Flamesmith. But it held a secret that only the higher up a in the Council of Fire knew, The Nightflame and a few other clans made the Silent Flame Corps of the Council of Fire. They were the assassins of the Council of Fire that hid in the shadows and were never spoken about.

The Silent Flame Corps was unknown to the Fire Continent. Many in the Council of Fire knew about its existence but only the High elders knew who made it the Corps up.

Leon knew about them because it was with their help of redirecting the Blood clans from his location which had allowed him to escape the Fire Continet after his inauguration ceremony as easily as he did. At the time he had escaped he hadn't known but later when he had returned to the Fire Continent he had met an Elder of the Nightflame clan.

Harris started telling his plan, "So there are two ways to win, one is through defeating the other team while the other is through knocking them off their beasts." He then turned and looked at the two teams fighting. "The height of the battle was never stated but we can see that both teams are trying to get as high as possible. We can assume the other teams will do the same. It will make it much harder to make our opponents prick the ground, their flying beasts will be easily be able to catch them."

Both Leon and Upton had lost interest and were nodding. Upton seemed to be signalling Leon with his eyes telling to tell him something. Leon was focusing on the battle and trying to find out all the cards of what could be their future opponents.

Harris didn't let the unenthusiastic crowd get to him. "Now my plan. Leon I already know you have a lightning Griffin beast and Upton told me about his Winged Flame Lion. I have a Nightblade fire beast. My Nightblade Fire beast isn't a flying beast I can ride but it is one of the strongest beast in attack. So Leon I'll ride the Lightning Griffin with you-" Harris wanted to say more but Leon had put his hand up telling him to stop.

"Great idea, A nightblade fire beast is strong. But I have a better idea." Leon had thought of a plan when he was chosen by them. He already about some of their beasts from flying around the Fire Continent during the competition. "I'm sure Upton has a Heavy water Turtle. I want him to use that to fly with You using the barrier it creates. I'll summon two beasts and the battle quickly."

Harris wanted to say something, but seeing Leon's attitude he was sure Leon wasn't going to take a no for an answer. He turned to Look at Upton to see his reaction.

Upton answered, "I don't think it's a good idea, you'll he controlling two beasts while the other team would most likely control one beast each. Plus if they choose to go all out in attack you'll be fighting three beasts with Only two. Look I know you've been in first place since the beginning but I think you shouldn't let it get to you too much. A lot of the people here have been staying low and will most likely now start trying their hardest."

Leon nodded and had already seen through the situation, "So Harris what is your opinion?"

Harris hesitated a bit and thought, "Teacher Oren never said that we would be disqualified from the competition after losing so he just wants to see our team work. He should also be grading us on that. The Three continental competition is a team competition, it doesn't look like Leon understands that. But he had been taking the top spot for too long. This should give him a reality check."

Harris smirked, "Leon let's go with your idea. Sorry Upton but I think Leon's plan makes sense."

Upton was shocked, "Are you guys sure you want to do this?" The two others didn't change their opinion. "Fine then we'll go with Leon's plan." Upton shook his head he couldn't change the plan since the vote was two against one.

"Whatever, I guess the first match will be a throw away." Upton whispered.
