Prologue

I opened my eyes and blinked a few times. I sense unfamiliarity, but I still cannot think straight about this feeling that makes me so uneasy. 

Who I am? Where am I? After the moment had passed, I got up from the bed and saw everything in a daze. I was in a single bed that was made from wood and a thin mattress. 

The smells of burning wood lingering and I saw a fireplace in the room. There are no memories in my head. 

I shake my head as hard as I can and hope that things will get back in place. And then I saw a piece of paper that crumbled at my hand.
 
“Dear Vierra, as you wish I erased your memory from your old life and granted you the cooking skills that will help you in this new world. And let the memory of your recipe from passed life remain. I Hope your new life will give you a better life. From me who cannot be named.”

I let out a heavy sigh. Is this some lame joke? There is a sling bag under the tiny table beside the bed. I found a diary with a name written in front of it. 

“Vierra Maverick”

World of Lost and Found

"Every three years, the Beastland will hold a tournament for each tribe in the land to compete with each other. The winner of the tournament will be challenging the current king and if its win, it become the new king" 


"Yeah, and the weapon will be sold there too, potions, elixirs, mana stones and foods from all over the continent would be there. It's an opportunity for every travelling merchant. Its the only time where the door opened for outsider" 


I asked the merchant who was still pale but better than the day he brought in.


"ah yes, but you only can open your stall outside the main door. You are not allowed to pass through their main gate of the city. But still there's still lot of people and and foreign people gather around" 


The doors were open but still at the same time?


"I don't understand how the doors were open but it's not allowed to get inside the city?"


"The Beastland also holds an open tournament to determine the strongest being in the continent which anyone can join regardless of its background. The registered participant can move freely through the door as long as the tournament were being held"


The merchant smiled and answered my question with his weak voice.


"the tournament will be ongoing for seven to ten days straight. But it also depends on the flow of the tournament, it usually last until the last man standing on the arena" 


After that small talk we let Mr. Jusco take a rest.


Since he is still weak, mother asked me to make a light meal which is easy for him to eat and his stomach can digest without problem.


I cannot stop thinking about what Mr.Jusco has said about all the travelling merchants would be there.


Well, precisely it is the food that I after.


I want to explore the variety of ingredients that exist in this world.


"mother…. I Wanna go. I want to go to the Beastland"


Lorcan and Ronan's voices followed my begging eyes. 


"We can ask Mr.Jusco to sell the unused items at the storage. We can gain profit while he can get commission from the trade."


The worried eyes were accompanied by the majestic smile.


I know mother was worried, it's because it's my first time going out to the world.


Mother closed her eyes for a moment, she was thinking.


"Only for a day. You will follow Mr.Jusco there, I will send you with teleportation, and come teleport back before the night come"


She must have felt touched by my sudden action by then when I got an extra allowance more than I supposed to have.


"Isn't 100 gold coins too much mother?"


"It's also for emergency funds. I gave the twins each 5 gold coins but I'm not sure if it's enough, so I put all the coins on you to take care of everything. You can use it for Lana, Greg and Hugo too"


Greg and Hugo would be following us as our guard and Lana would help me take care of the twins.
