A Red Bird

The sun had just risen, casting a scarlet hue on the ocean, making the small bird be blend with the surrounding.

It was trying very hard to wake up a rather beaten up girl with brown hair with peculiar streaks of different colors on one side of her head.

"Wake up !! Ryu! or you will starve to death."

The bird kept hitting her face with its beak. But the bird showed no sign of movement.

'I should pour some water on her face; maybe that will wake her up,' thought the bird to itself.

It started prancing around to look for a carrier to carry the water over. It spotted a rater curved leaf filled with water and moved towards it. It grabbed the leaf with its tiny legs and flew back to Ryu, trying not to spill the leaf's little water.

After reaching it poured the water on Ryu's face making her frown in her dreams.

Her eyes trembled and slowly opened.

Ryu was very confused by the view that came before her. Auburn sun rising from the sea, fine soft sand beneath her, and waves crashing further down from where she was.

The last thing she remembered was the wave crashing on her and the pounding headache she felt, which was now gone.

"Phew! you are finally awake; you scared me there." The bird finally sighed in relief.

Ryu heard someone and turned her head to look for the person, but she couldn't find one.

"Here...Look down. I am here, this little bird." the bird got frustrated that Ryu ignored him.

Hearing this, Ryu looked down and found a vermillion bird with a slightly longer tail jumping up and down to get her attention.

Ryu thought maybe she was hallucinating.

"Wow, have I been so lonely that now my mind is making an imaginary friend at this age? Maybe everything was too much of a shock, or I just hit my head hard on something."

"No way is there a talking bird in reality. I have finally gone cuckoo cuckoo" Ryu grabbed her hair and pulled hard to get her mind together.

"You are perfectly sane, Your Highness; I am a real talking bird." This girl needs a beating not acknowledging her ancestors (Humph)

The bird flew to her head and pecked its beak on her face " I AM R.E.A.L You are not imaging me or dreaming this"

"I didn't think my master would be this difficult; what will happen to me now."

Ryu stared at the now sad, droopy bird and suddenly broke into laughter.

" I never thought I could make up all this, WoW! This feels so real! "

" I AM REAL! Why don't you believe me? I have waited so long for you to come" The bird started jumping around, tears falling from his eyes.

Ryu felt her heartache when she saw the bird crying. When she looked at him closely, she felt like she had known him for a long time, as if it was part of her soul.

"Okay! Okay! Can you stop crying? I will hear you out if you stop crying."

"Master, please don't abandon me!" The bird cried louder and louder.

"Yes, I won't abandon you. Please stop crying now, or do you want your Master to cry too?" Ryu was getting very anxious seeing bawling like that.

"No! don't cry, Master. It will make me sad. Master, Give me a name, Quickly! Please! Please!" The bird was excitedly shaking its tail from left to right, trying to cozy up to Ryu.

"Let me think about it!" Ryu was pondering deeply about what name to give to the little cutie.

" Yes! I will name you Little Scarlet; how about it, do you like it?"
