Had she gone insane?

Camellia stopped her car near the entrance of the most exquisite restaurant in the city. She removed her night glasses and tossed it on the passenger seat. She nodded once upon seeing a valet attendant was already waiting outside. Seeing her signal, the boy smiled before opening the door for Camellia.

Upon receiving the pick-up ticket from the valet attendant, Camellia slid some notes into his palm before strutting her way into the restaurant.

The boy blinked several times after seeing the notes on his hand. The moment he came to a realization, he proceeded to park the finest red car he had ever seen to a safe place and promised that he would guard the car as if guarding his life.

Camellia's generosity was indeed beyond others! When she gave tips it almost like she was giving salary to her workers although lesser by a small margin.

The valet attendant felt that tonight was his lucky night, not only he met the most generous customer of all time, but also the most beautiful woman who donned an article of casual clothing and still looked mesmerizing.

Unknown to Camellia, she was already an idol in someone's eyes.

Inside the restaurant, a waitress approached her and asked if she had made a reservation or not. She answered by mentioning Charlie's name.

"Miss Camellia?" the waitress guessed her name, trying to confirm her identity. Camellia shook her head in response to her question.

The waitress smiled upon verifying the person in front of her and immediately escorted her to one of the rooms located upstair.

'Hmm,' Camellia started to ponder about Charlie's status as she was escorted to one of the most expensive rooms in the restaurant.

She had the urged to ask the waitress but halted the moment she opened a wooden door and politely gestured her to enter.

"Mr. Charlie is waiting inside," the waitress spoke as she politely bowed before walking away to resume her work as the receptionist of tonight shift.

Camellia entered the room hesitantly. Even though she disliked the man to a certain degree, she felt guilty whenever she recalled the phone call incident that could probably create a wave of misunderstanding between the man and his little rabbit.

Of course, she had the intention to use the recording as an act of revenge but now that she was here, she wasn't sure of what to do.

"Miss Camellia?" she heard a man voice calling her from inside. The voice was enough to exude the caller's masculinity. For a while, Camellia was stupefied, that voice seemed to stir something within her.

Then, out of nowhere, Lenny's characteristics of the hottest male began to credit themselves inside her mind. One of those was, of course, the power of a man's voice.

'If it make your heart to flutter, then, be ready to fall in love,' she recalled the explanation that came with the specific characterization.

On the phone, that man's voice wasn't as deep as tonight. So, she wasn't prepared to have her maiden heart weakened a little.

More importantly, who would have known that his raw voice was capable of causing a ripple on the calm oasis she had preserved on the far depth of her heart?

"What the hell am I being so distracted tonight," she murmured. If Lenny was there, she probably had teased her nonstop for even Camellia herself started to feel that she suddenly act out of her character.

"Distracted about what? and do you plan to stand here forever?" again, that voice shattered the calmness that started to accumulate. Moreover, feeling the close proximity, Camellia's face was flustered, radiating warmth on her face to her slender neck.

Camellia slowly looked up and saw a man who was obviously taller by significant inches was staring at her. His smiling lips made the corners of his eyes crinkled and those just added to his handsome features.

If that wasn't enough, Camellia felt that her body would break into pieces if she was to collide with the man. He probably was a gym rat to be able to achieve such a perfect proportion. It wasn't exaggerated like the body of a bodybuilder and not the skinny type that was idolized by most teens these days. He, although hidden by the white shirt, definitely had a well-sculpted body that could cause any female jaws to drop.

That was her instant analysis the moment her eyes laid the sight of him.

'What the hell with me!' Camellia was struggling inside. This wasn't the first time she saw a perfect specimen like Charlie but definitely was the first time to actually spent a lot of time to praise his physical look.

"Zen," she muttered the name unconsciously and felt that her heart finally find the peace she always had. However, she wasn't aware of the surprised look that was on Charlie's face at the moment.

"What did you say?" the man asked with a twitch on his face. Did she just call him using his real name? For heaven's sake, did this woman made a search on him too? Did she already know who he was?

"Huh? Oh, Mr. Charlie, I'm saying that you seemed collected despite facing the person that dislikes you. You've reached the zen level - peaceful and relaxed,"

Charlie wasn't satisfied with the answer but seeing the earnest look on Camellia's face, he believed that she really meant what she said. Besides, who was she? Someone that capable to make him often rendered speechless with her wittiness.

Alas, the truth was far from what he was thinking about. This is because, within Camellia's consciousness was a war that seemed to intensify following the increased of time.

'What the hell am I saying?!' again, a turmoil of emotion hit Camellia's wall of insanity. She didn't know why she decided to say that as an excuse. She was sure Charlie had heard her mentioned Zen's name. Unexpectedly, she didn't want him to take note of that and proceed with her self-defense explanation.

That's why Camellia thought she was going insane. This was really out of her character! Why was it that the dislike she had when bickering with him on the phone didn't materialize the moment she saw him? Was this the charm of a handsome man as what Lenny had always reminded her about?

'Go to hell with this feeling. This man isn't the type I'll get along with,' she finally managed to calm her mind and gained the strength to look straight into Charlie's eyes who patiently waited for her to regain her senses. It was obvious that she was struggling with something. Whatever it was, he needed to thank it for allowing him to witness the perplexity on her face.

"Mr. Charlie now that I see you, here is your phone-"

Camellia almost choke on the last word when Charlie simply turned around, ignoring her talk.

"Miss Camellia, let's have a proper talk over dinner. I bet you wouldn't want to miss such beautiful scenery,"

Camellia frowned, however, she no longer hesitated as she walked towards the dining table located near the transparent wall. Outside were the flickering lights that twinkled upon the clashed with the queen of light, the moon.

The sight was indeed magnificent that it made Camellia's stiff face softened. She didn't realize when and how she sat down, until, Charlie's voice seeped into her ears, pulling her back to reality.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" he asked as he poured water into an empty glass and offered it to Camellia who in turn gulped it in seconds.

He saw a determined look on her face as she took out a phone from the black pouch she was carrying.

"Mr. Charlie, here is your phone, so, can I have mine back?" Camellia politely asked. She sounded calmer than before. So did her expression.

"I'm afraid, I can't," Charlie's refusal was unexpected, inviting Camellia's brows to kiss each other.

"What do you mean? Isn't the purpose of this meeting exactly that?" Camellia asked. Her voice was still refined.

"I have a proposal to make and hope that you'll consider," Charlie finally gave her some vague details.

"I'm sorry, but I prefer we settle this issue as soon as we can. Besides, I really need to read updates from my clients" Camellia tried to persuade him.

"Here," Charlie placed a stack of paper in front of her.

"Go ahead," he urged her to check on the few pieces of paper being clip together.

With a frown, Camellia flipped the top page and saw a details information about the client that tried to get in contact with her while it was in Charlie's possession.

"This-" she flipped the other pages only to see an in-depth analysis of all the issues her clients were facing. At the end of each report was a critical thought on why she should or shouldn't accept the client's offer.

Camellia wanted to say something but swallowed her voice back the moment she saw a waiter entered the room with two trays balanced on both his palm. He elegantly placed both the trays respectively on the table facing the guests who sat facing each other.

Both she and Charlie looked at each other. They haven't ordered anything and a dish was already sent to their table? Hmm?

"Mr. Charlie, Miss Camellia, our chief are thankful for tonight's visit hence he presented this new dessert to our most distinguished guests of the night. It's on the house," the waiter explained and removed the top, revealing a beautifully decorated 'white island'.

"Miss Camellia, now that it came to this, isn't it a waste to leave?" Charlie didn't miss the opportunity to notice the slight change on her face upon seeing the dessert. She probably had a sweet tooth. Charlie hoped he had guessed correctly.

Camellia stared at the man in front of her with a conflicted look. It was indeed true that dessert was her bae food and the delish served right in front of her made her almost drooling. If the company was Lenny, she had forgotten the courtesy and went ahead to enjoy the high a dessert could offer.

"Then, I'll stay for dinner," she had long reached to that conclusion upon the revelation of the island in front of her, except that it was too embarrassing to say it at that time.

Charlie's mouth curved to a charming angle. Thankfully, it skipped Camellia's eyes or else she would be perplexed once again to choose whether to stay or to leave.
