Job Offer

Morgana sank to the ground, she lied unconscious as Prometheus looked at her with worry. With one hand, Dr. Blythe retrieves the syringe in Morgana and placed it back into his lab coat. With the other he held a gun to the back of Prometheus' neck "What did you do to her!" Prometheus yelled.

"Calm down, I just put her in a sleeping state. She'll wake up in 3 hours. I hope."

"You-" Dr. Blythe pushes the gun against Prometheus' neck, scaring him enough to stop talking.

"I'm just going to cut to the chase here. The man who exploded in New America, the one who kidnapped you, had ties to a revolution group. I want you to give me the name of the man."

'His name? I don't even remember it, Jake something. I forgot his last name. I didn't forget, I didn't bother to even remember. What should I do? Is he going to kill my mom if I don't tell? Is he going to go after Hypnos when he's done with mom? The rest of my family?' Prometheus began to sweat, due to Dr. Blythe's blood-lust skill being applied and the fear of his own thoughts were producing.

"Hurry up! I know you know his name!"

"I can't remember it," Prometheus said with fear present. Silence followed, Dr. Blythe was thinking, then after a few seconds of thinking, he finally began to speak again. "Could you have possibly been recruited into group? Then you may have a way to communicate with them."

Prometheus turned his head to look at Dr. Blythe, "Group? I have no idea what you're talking about-"

*BANG*

There was a shocked silence from Prometheus, Dr. Blythe had fired his gun, not at Prometheus, but at his mother. Prometheus followed the direction the gun was pointing at, right in his mother's leg. The bullet had not gone through, it was still inside. In his mind the faces of Moroccos and Clementine dying appeared, the same emotions he felt that day rose from being suppressed. "No," he said softly, "Cure her! You have the antidote! I do! I do have a way to communicate with them!" Prometheus yelled, waking up Hypnos downstairs.

"Interesting, as soon as I shoot your mom, your memory seems to come back. I have a job offer for you. It is a pretty simple job. You're going to let yourself be recruited. You're going to report back to me everything you find out about the group. How influential they are in the world, their member count, the member levels, and skills. Any information I need to crush their little rebellion group."

"Is that all?"

"Yes, it's that simple. Consider this your first job for me as one of my workers. I'll even put a good word about you to the King."

Prometheus was silent, he was lost in thought, 'Were those bullets poisonous, mom should be coughing by now, but she hasn't reacted at all being shot. Is she already dead?'

"YOU CAN AT LEAST BE GRATEFUL YOU PIECE OF SHIT! I'm not talking about those piece of shit kings. I'm talking about the King of Kings," Dr. Blythe said pointing the gun to Prometheus' head and pressing it against his hair.

'If I can bring down a whole rebellion group, I can increase the budget of my research.' Dr. Blythe thought as he waited for Prometheus to respond, 'Any kid would want to have a good word with the King.'

"Fine," Prometheus says, "I'll be your spy." Dr. Blythe relaxes, his blood-lust skill finally deactivating, 'I don't have a choice,' Prometheus thought as he was finally able to relax, only for him to take a glance at his mom to regain his fear.

"I'm glad that we could strike a deal," Dr. Blythe said smiling. He put away his gun, putting it in his lab coat. He then moved away from Prometheus, heading for the stairs. "Don't worry about your mom," he said as he walked, "The bullet wasn't poisonous, the wound will heal itself, in fact her leg should feel even better than before I shot it. I think at least, I haven't done proper testing."

Once he got the stairs, he paused and looked back at Prometheus. "How much XP did you gain from killing my worker? I want to see your stats."

'My stats? I'm quite the high level. What if he feels threatened by them?'

"Are you going to tell me or will I force it out of you?"

'Shit. I can't show him at all. A lie. I have to come up with a lie.'

"I can't show you my stats..."

"Huh?! Are you keeping a secret from me? When I-"

"No, no. It's not that I don't want to show you, but uhh.... My title stops me from sharing my stats with others."

"What is your title?"

"The... Loner. I can't gain XP anymore if I show my stats, but as long as I don't break that rule, I get a boost in all my stats."

Dr. Blythe stares at Prometheus, with judging eyes. 'Please buy it! Please buy it!' Prometheus thought as he stared back at Dr. Blythe with a poker face. "Titles can be so complex for no reason, maybe you're just a complex person. Anyway, I'll contact you through your mom. So if I don't get an answer from you, I can just go straight to your mother. How do you say bye in Greek? Ah whatever, Ciao." Dr. Blythe turns to face the stairs, then starts walking down them. He walked through the front door and was gone.

From the time Dr. Blythe had left to when his mother woke up, Prometheus worked. He first moved his mother from his bedroom door to the couch that was next to Hypnos' crib. It was relatively easy for him to lift her with his new found strength. He then cleaned up the tea cups, washed and put them back where they originally belonged.

He then switched the channel on the television to a different cartoon channel that Hypnos liked. Hypnos liked it so much that he fell asleep instantly. After watching Hypnos fall asleep, and making sure that his mom's injury had healed and there wasn't any other injuries on her. Prometheus dashed into his dark room. He turned on a lamp light from his desk, pulling out the phone Jake had given him.

Out of the three apps present; GPS, Wallet, and Phone, Prometheus had used two of them. GPS he used to navigate the boat back to Greece. Wallet he used in order to buy a taxi, and bribe the government naval patrol to let him pass through government check without him having to show off his stats. Prometheus had used only 20,000 dollars out of the $100,000 on the account. He hadn't used Phone yet, but there was a time when he clicked it just to see what it was. there was only one contact on there.

"That only contact on here is 'Wolf', it probably is the guy he was talking to on the laptop. I might as well call him."

Prometheus tapped the Phone app, it opened to the contacts, there he saw Wolf and tapped it as well. He then tapped the call button, bringing the phone to his ear. Wolf picked up instantly, "Jake? You're alive!"

Prometheus heart became heavy, he could feel Wolf's disappointment as he spoke, "Sorry, this is the recruit, Prometheus. I want to join your group."

There was a silence, a long pause, "Hello-"

*Click*

Wolf hung up.
