"Can we even trust him?"
"We can always have Steve go through him to check. Even if he is a spy, we could reform him."
"Reform a spy, that's stupid. I'm a spy I should know."
"Doesn't matter what we do with him, he's still cute."
"Shut up, you're only horny."
In the darkness, Prometheus could hear three different voices, one of them being the girl he met at the Athena statue. 'She thinks I'm cute,' was his first thought, his second being, 'Where the hell am I?'
"Did you see that, he just moved."
"Yeah, he's awake, the drug should be wearing off by now."
Prometheus tried to move, he felt his hands tied behind his back. He attempted to ask them to untie him, but he was muffled from tape on his mouth. He heard footsteps approaching him, he was about to panic, but he calmed himself down. 'These guys are so cautious, it makes sense if they are trying to rebel against the government,' he thought as he felt breathing fall upon his face.
"Hi there Prometheus. I heard you want to join our rebellion group. Viva la revolution. I'm not french, but uh, whatever." The feminine voice paused giving a chance for Prometheus to think, 'Are these guys serious?'
"So tell me," the voice continued, "Why do you want to join the revolution?" The voice rips off the tape on Prometheus' mouth. "OW," he screams as he heard laughter coming to him. He pauses, 'Why do I want to join. I don't really want to join. I'm acting as a spy, I can't really tell them that can I. Maybe I should tell them my feelings on the working class. It probably is a good enough reason.'
"Well, spit it out now, or you might just die," the voice says laughing.
"My friends died. We were just trying to get my phone back, and they killed us for it. Then I realized that they only did it so they could get XP for it."
"That's the case for all of us, yes."
"I always thought it was strange... Ever since I was a kid I thought. Where did this system come from? Why is everyone so fixated on getting XP? We survived without it, so why should we need it. I don't want to revolt against just the government, I want to revolt against the system itself. The government is exploiting a broken system, I want to stop them from exploiting it and the people that it affects..." Prometheus holds his head high, he assumes where everyone is looking down at him and looks toward that direction. "I am going to become the King of the World. I'm going to fix this system!"
There is a silence, but Prometheus could hear what they were all thinking. 'What a childish dream. This line of work is for serious people.' He expected them to start laughing at him.
"Whoa kid, that's honestly pretty deep. No wonder Jake invited you to the group. You're a conspiracy theorist just like him! He had similar ideals about the government. Oh they are corrupt and all that ideological bullshit. We always thought he was crazy, he would risk his own life for the cause, so we reluctantly followed him to the ends of earth to help him not get himself killed." The voice became somber, sniffles could be heard.
"Tell me, why did you come back on your own. Where is Jake? Don't tell me he..."
"He died. He gave me a button to press whenever I see a flare go up. He didn't tell me what it would do or what his plan was. I only realized it when I saw the explosion."
"You mean, that explosion in New America?" A masculine voice said. "I knew he wouldn't let those government bastards kill him without a bang."
The man stopped talking, as tears fell down his face as he accepted the fact that Jake was dead. There was a long moment of silence for Jake. It was interrupted by the feminine voice excusing herself and the man unblinking Prometheus, who quickly took in his surrounding. The man who took off his blindfold was in a suit, he had black hair and shaded glasses, and leaned against a wall shortly after. He then saw the girl at Athena Statue, who had drugged him and brought him to the group's hideout.
"Where did that other woman go," Prometheus said sitting up and adjusting his eyes to the light of the room.
"Don't worry about it," the man said, "The real question here is what a spy is doing here."
Prometheus gulped, "S-Spy, why would a spy be here?"
The man's eyes widen, "Mia leave the room," he says. Prometheus glances over to Mia who is staring at him blushing, she looks away quickly then leaves the room, "Right," she says.
After the room was left to the two of them, the man slowly walked up to Prometheus. "Are you a spy? You're a kid, so it might make sense for the government to send you in here. They must think you are expendable. Whatever you might be your words didn't feel like lies. Are you being threatened?"
Prometheus nodded his head in shame, "There's no reason to be ashamed. When family or friends are involved people's emotions cloud their own decisions. If you want to be a spy though, first rule is to always stay undercover, never reveal your true self. No matter if you have to tell a lie, you never reveal who you truly are," the man said picking up Prometheus.
"Where are you taking me!"
"Not far, just to a friend."
The man brought Prometheus to a dark corner of the room. It was pitch black, compared to the rest of the room that was lighted brightly. As the man lowered Prometheus to sit next to the dark corner, Prometheus noticed two white shaped balls that resembled eyes. "What the hell is that?"
"This is our friend, Steve. We're going to be making sure that you aren't going to spill our secrets as a spy. Essentially you will become a double agent."
'Yeah, that sounds interesting, but what exactly does Steve do?'
"I... can... do... a... lot..." Steve said creakily.
"Did he just read my mind?"
"Yeah, he does that sometimes," the man says stepping back a bit.
'He does that sometimes, why did he say it like it was just a minor inconvenience.'
Prometheus looked at Steve, then looked back at the man who seemed to be moving farther away, even though he wasn't moving. Suddenly, Prometheus felt drowsy, as the world that he could see became smaller and wider, until everything became blank.
