BSV - Backpack System Variant (2)
A total of 50 sets Full-Package BSV are assembled.
45 of them comes with a basic package, which consists of an upgraded 1st Generation Leishen Rifle, 2nd generation Leishen Sidearm, and a Model M-2 Katana. Also included in their pack is 10 ampoules of General Recovery Serum, which worth 150 credits if purchased from his General Store.
As for the 5 remaining BSV, they're the monstrous design from Zhang Qin Feng's entertainment, codename "Ramrod."
The [Ramrod] comes in a custom grey-paint, with a logo of ancient siege weapon, battery ram, on all six shields. Those who choose to put this on will be given a supply of 5 Gene Enhancer Serum, which is an absolutely good deal.
Of course, not everyone is qualified to put on the Ramrod.
The first and foremost hurdle they'll have to go through is to walk around the base with the Ramrod fully deployed. While putting on 50kg worth of steel frames on your back might be difficult, walking ahead with the burden in front of you is a complete sick mode.
But nobody complained about these sick tests to select the best 5 individuals.
To sacrifice themselves for the sake of 5 bottles of Gene Enhancer Serum is something sane, or they'll even volunteer to hunt a Titan for it.
At last, five individuals are chosen to put on the Ramrod.
They're also issued with a Model M-2 Katana as a close combat weapon, due to its lightweight with five General Recovery Ampoules.
The 50 BSV equipped soldiers quickly grab the attention of the young, old, and slaves. Even during the Tianxia Nation's time, there's no technology related to a fully functional electronic backpack.
This is especially influential towards the children. Some of them even started to copy what they see and remade a similar backpack made from resin and plastic.
"If you guys are ready, go ahead and follow your commander's schedule. You're all excused," Zhang Qin Feng waved his hand at them. Having soldiers standing by before him brings no profit to his establishment.
Only Dan Mi remained by his side as Zhang Qin Feng walked around checking out his base.
Although the changes aren't much, it stills resembled a well planned residential street from his modern world.
The Fuel and Protein Converter is assembled behind Zhang Qin Feng's General Store, with the ammunition line in Liuyu Building, and Material Printing Station in Liuxing Building.
Right across the street is where they build a pub. And behind the pub is a properly guarded alley, with some hanky panky going on in there. Of course, Zhang Qin Feng ends up as the last person to know about this "special" back alley.
But he did not feel different about it.
In a base with 430 people, some type of entertainment is essential for the soldier to retain their sanity. Else, men are no different from behaving like an animal running wild on the street.
Of course, being the "boss" in this base means Zhang Qin Feng's status is above these "relief ladies." If he really wanted to, Dan Mi can arrange over ten younger, fresher ladies for him effortlessly.
The two of them entered the shabby-looking pub.
Using the advanced technology of apocalypse, making ethanol is now possible without using grains. But still, their flavor is like comparing a mug of pee with draft beer.
Although drinkable, and won't cause the butter to be churned from your stomach, they're not as appealing as Zhang Qin Feng thought.
"I should purchase some Draft Beer back for them to enjoy. But let's see how they did first," Zhang Qin Feng chuckled. Bringing beer here is not a problem at all, but providing them with beer without seeing some results ain't worth the trouble.
Zhang Qin Feng ordered two glasses of Clouded Moon, which is so-called as best drinking alcohol in this pub, for himself and Dan Mi. But after taking his first sip, Zhang Qin Feng gave it to an elder seated beside him.
The elder chugs the beer inside his system in a flash.
"Is that nice?" Zhang Qin Feng looked at Dan Mi, who's slowly savoring his glass of Clouded Moon.
"Of course! Except for the food I've got from your place, the Clouded Moon is the next drinkable thing with some bitter and sweet flavor." Dan Mi replied.
"I'll steal a few cans of beer from the shelter next time. You'll enjoy them even more," Zhang Qin Feng chuckled. But when later when he asked Dan Mi about the alcohol content in that Clouded Moon drink, he's shocked to know that inside that weird bitter drink, is 43% alcohol content.
The two inspects the ammunition area next and are very satisfied with its efficiency.
At the Material Printing Station, they gave Zhang Qin Feng a shock. Because the station inside his workshop is highly efficient, Zhang Qin Feng never personally see how a public-quality material printer works.
Two mechanical arm moves up and down as they're printing a mechanical part to replace the broken leg of a scrap mover. While at the second printing zone, a third of the mechanical arm is being reprinted.
The advance of technology is indeed marvelous.
What's before him is a Material Printer reprinting a piece of a Material Printing Station to be assembled as their third printing zone. From what Dan Mi explained, their printing station function is still limited.
Thus, they're making more stations to ease the needs of the printer, before assigning engineers to research the missing parts, or what wasn't issued to a public-usage printer.
It is indeed not as capable as the one in his workshop.
Under Stein's control, an assembling line existed below the garage, where all the produced material for Rhinos, Leishen Munitions, and the APV is assembled. As for the Serum Fridge beside his cashier, it's directly linked to the Culture Tank inside his workshop.
The Organic Fuel and Protein Converter is the last area they inspected.
Although there's nothing much for him to inspect here, Zhang Qin Feng personally viewed how the Protein Bar is made. After the fuel component is taken away from the material, it is processed through a triple steaming method to eliminate potential contamination.
Then, it is grounded into a paste-form before enriched with protein, vitamins, and everything a body needs for a single day activity. The final product is then pressed into shaping mold before freezing and high-temperature cooking.
The end product is a piece of solid Protein Bar that looks like a hardened block of gelatin chicken soup.
Zhang Qin Feng returned to his General Store after the tour. So far, he's very content with the improvement of their base.
The Liuxing and Liuyu are capable of handling all 430 members of his Azure Wind Gang. The three types of machinery used to be owned by Blood Wolf Gang have been assembled to begin production too. The arrival of the pub and red light alley also means increases in personal needs, which is a positive impression to him.
But advancement comes after stability.
Zhang Qin Feng's Azure Wind Base cannot keep itself satisfy with a mere 430 people too. From his previous short conversation with Stein, Zhang Qin Feng knows about Stein's issue and increases his need for more technology scraps.
"Bzzt... Boss, Dan Bao's reporting," Dan Bao's voice came out from the Luna II Device.
"I'm listening," Zhang Qin Feng replied.
"Our first group of 100 refugees is here. To prevent disturbance amongst them, we've only allowed 25 people from each team to move into our Azure Wind Base first." Dan Bao reported.
Zhang Qin Feng chuckled.
"Fertile land always appear after a flood. Grass grows from a pile of ashes, and helps comes when you're not expecting." Zhang Qin Feng suddenly remembered idioms lesson he learned.
"Good!" Zhang Qin Feng replied.
"Bring them back! I'll order our reserved soldiers to make sure they're all treated fairly!"
"Everyone that came to our Qing Feng Gang is a people of Qing Feng Gang!"

Note: Because of the previous fight with the Titan, a few casualties were missed out from the story. And with the additional 10 refugees from Green Leaf Gang in chapter 34, they're back to 430 people. (Slaves is excluded from the total population)
As a remark, the next chapter will start at 530 people, and do you think I am going to be kind to the only team that rejected Zhang Qin Feng's offer?
