Unexpected Appearance

Rose rose bright and shine that morning. After rummaged through her wardrobe to get her best attire, she put on her best make up and get her hair done, and swish!!! Be ready for the day. She just walked down the staircase when her phone rang with her favourite song 'Sunshine'. She took a glanced before drew a deep breath.

"Rose dear!!!" the sound boomed too loud to her ears that she almost experienced hearing impaired. She cursed inwardly before calming herself down.

"Where are you?" on the other side a woman's voice could be heard, loud and clear.

"Still at home. Will be there soon." She reached the dining table and took a seat across her mother. A maid came and served her her favourite breakfast: pork porridge with kimchi. Ever since she returned from South Korea, she had been crazy about kimchi and would make sure it to be included in her dish.

"Alright, see you later," with that she ended her phone call and smiled beautifully at her parents.

"Morning dad, mom," she greeted them with a blooming spirit like a phoenix. It was as if she had been reborn since the day she called off her engagement with Mr Devon Luke.

"Looking good dear... " Mrs Jane Smith smiled lovingly at her.

"Mom, of course. I'm Miss Smith anyway" Mr and Mrs Smith chuckled upon hearing her words. They really cherished their only daughter to the extend that they didn't want anything bad to be happened to her. What had happened to her five years ago still lingered in their memory and constantly caused them to be in fear. The impact had left too huge a scar that even time won't be able to erase it. They even prayed harder that she would never regained her past memories as they afraid it might caused her to be broken heart beyond despair.

"So, what's your plan today?" Mr James Smith asked her while taking few sips of his warm jasmine green tea.

"Well, one of my customers wanted to see me to discuss about her wedding preparation. Then, there will new stocks coming in later in the evening. So, I guess I won't be able to have dinner with both of you later with Madam Jennet." It was definitely a well-developed explanation or rather a report she provided to both her parents.

"Look at your daughter, she is too busy with her business that she hasn't enough time for me, her mother," Mrs Jane Smith lamented at her father that caused father daughter duo to chuckle.

"Don't worry mom, I'll accompany you this weekend. Okay?" Rose tried to console her mother and made a promise to her. Mrs Jane Smith nodded and smiled lovingly then slowly patted her arm as a gesture of encouragement.

Rose glanced at her watch and stood. She grabbed her briefcase and handbag. Turned to her parents with a smiling face, she waved her hands and off she went. Both Mr and Mrs Smith sighed heavily. The two of them couldn't do anything apart from praying that she will be okay.

On her right hand she was holding a cup of coffee from the coffee shop across her Queenie Majestic Gallery while on her left hand holding her briefcase, she put on her usual sweet smile.

From afar she could see her best buddy, Leah James waving frantically at her. She paused her steps and frowned. Leah never wore such expression unless there were some serious issues. Rose hasten her steps until she reached her gallery.

"What taking you so long?" Leah anxiously asked her. She helped Rose with briefcase.

"Coffee," Rose answered curtly before she burst into laughter upon looking at Leah's expression.

"You only care about your coffee," Leah was sulking at how Rose treated her that day.

Rose placed her arm on her shoulder and drew closer to her ears before she made "psssts" sound.

Leah glared at her best friend with her pouted lips. Rose laughed heartily and it was as if the spring season was in store.

Without the two ladies aware, their interactions were recorded by someone. While the man recorded the interaction, he sent all the recordings live to his boss.

His lips curved into charming smile as he watched live recording through his smartphone and it was as if the spring had come. The pinkish bubbles were visibly filled the office and the three men with him were rendered speechless. They exchanged glances among themselves. They never saw him smiled genuinely apart from his usual smirks. Could it be that their corporation was about to secure an enormous deal? Then it was worth to celebrate. But judging the way their CEO smiled, it was more likely he was in love. Huh? In love? For real? They knew their CEO never serious in any relationship with the ladies. Then, what was? They were all curious. Tony, who stood by his table blinked his eyes numerous time. He never expected his boss would be serious this time and the lady was none other than Rose Smith. Dear God, hopefully he will be really serious this time.

Back to Queenie Majestic Gallery, as soon as Rose sat on her leather seat, she switched on her Macbook and took at look at the share markets.

While Leah was busying to rearrange the interior decor, a man entered. He spoke a few words to Leah before approached Rose who was busying arrange her schedule on the smartboard.

"Rose..." Rose who was about to make some remarks on the smartboard momentarily stunned. She turned around and met a familiar gaze that she haven't seen for a very long time. Was it four years ago? Maybe five years ago?

"Miss me?" the two words brought her back to reality. Her eyes widen in disbelief.

"Steve Mclare!" Steve wrapped her in his arms before muttering "I miss you..." Rose blushed upon hearing his words.

On the side, Leah was surprised to see how close the two people in front of her. Rose was hugging an unknown handsome man ever so intimately. Oh wait, he did mention to her before she showed him Rose's work station. Steve Mclare, Rose's cousin.

Huh, cousin... Hugging intimately? Goodness. Her view definitely turned upside down ever since she getting to know Rose three years ago.

"You're free?"

"I'm afraid no, I'll have a meeting with my client in forty minutes. Sorry," Rose said apologetically.

"Let's meet later at night, shall we?"

Steve looked at her, there was a slight disappointment in his eyes. How much he wanted to spend some time with Rose.

"Sure. I'll wait for you at Tang Hong Restaurant." Rose smiled sweetly at him while nodded her head agreed to the suggested place.

"Then I'll leave you first, see you later," he swiftly pecked her cheek that both women stunned especially Rose. She unconsciously touched her cheek and blushed.
