"Uncle! Bad news! My lady boss just went out with tears earlier. Something could have happened to her family as we were currently at the hospital. What should I do?" Jeremy quickly made a call to Jude after Leah told him the situation. But he didn't manage to go through, instead, he was directed to voicemail service. He reluctantly conceded and left his message through the voicemail service. Maybe uncle had a meeting at the moment, he tried to console his own heart.
Deep inside, he was nervous. So, he had rushed and managed to tail her all the way to the hospital.
He blended into the crowd and had managed to get the details of the current issue. Her brother, George Smith was dead due to an accident when he was supposedly going to inspect their warehouse that day.
A coincidence? Jeremy frowned. Was there any coincidence as in taking other's life? He recalled how his uncle John was murdered five years ago. He supposedly went on meeting with some buyers at a hotel when their family received the news: John was shot straight in the head. The shot was obviously done by a professional assassin as it was a clean shot. Arghhh... Jeremy shook off his nonsense thinking. It might be really an accident.
When he saw that his lady boss fainted, he was almost dashed out and hold her, but his phone rang at the same time. In his dilemma, he answered his phone and it was his uncle.
"What happened?" Without further ado, Jeremy explained everything in a detailed manner and on the last note he told his uncle, "she fainted at the moment. I think you should come." Then, he swiftly ended the call and rushed towards his lady boss and helped her father to bring her to the patient bed and waiting for the doctor to examine her.
Mr and Mrs Smith both thanked him.
" It's my job to keep my lady boss safe, " he humbly said and bowed his head slightly.
"You're her employee?" Mrs Jane Smith looked at him. Sizing him up and down that made him a little bit uncomfortable.
"Yes, I am the new photographer that she hired last week," Jeremy answered them truthfully.
" My name is Jeremy Caldwell." He introduced himself next. It was at that time that the doctor had finished examined Rose. There was worry etched to his expression.
The three people looked at him and waiting for him to speak in agitation.
"Does she taking any medications lately?" The three of them exchanged glanced and both Mr and Mrs Smith sook their head.
"Doc, what exactly happened to my daughter? She did not take any medications, not even sleeping pills or anti-depression," Mrs Jane Smith's voice shook as she answered the doctor.
"Her blood pressure seemed fine but her blood count is weird. I never come across something like this before." The doctor explained.
"Then, how is she doctor?" Mr James Smith asked, he had become older by minutes since the news of his son's death that day. And now her daughter. He couldn't take it anymore. He almost collapsed due to the shock he had. Jeremy held him steadily and brought him to a chair nearby.
" For the time being, we yet to determine the cause of unconsciousness. We need to run some tests." Listening to what the doctor had said made the three of them in a massive heartbreak.
"Excuse me, doctor, please let me check the patient," someone interrupted them. All of them turned around and saw a doctor with a smiling face stood there with a man in tailored suits. It was Jude Townshend.
Both Mr and Mrs Smith were stunned momentarily. So, was it true that their daughter was dating Jude Townshend? While the two stunned, Jeremy was beaming. He was glad that his uncle made it in time to come and visit his lady boss.
"Oh, Doctor Samuel. You're here," the doctor shook hands with Doctor Samuel and beamed. It was an honour to meet Doctor Samuel based on his reputation in the medical field.
"Long time no see Doctor Tang," Samuel smiled. "So, allow me to examine the patient." Doctor Tang was surprised by his request.
"Do you know the patient, Doctor Sam?" He was wondering how did Doctor Samuel knew his patient and even came at the right time. He could only leave this matter to him since he couldn't identify the illness. It was indeed a new experience for him as he never came across this kind of symptom.
" You said her blood pressure is fine but her blood count is otherwise?" Doctor Samuel asked him while taking out his own stethoscope and began to check her pulse. He frowned instantly before took off his stethoscope.
He turned to Mr and Mrs Smith and sighed heavily.
" I need to talk to both of you." then he turned to Doctor Tang, "I need to use your office to talk to them. Is that okay?" Doctor Tang immediately nodded his head and even brought them to his office.
"I'll leave you here as I need to examine other patients."
"Sure, go ahead. Thanks for letting me use your office." then Doctor Tang left them.
"Doctor, what exactly happened to my daughter?" Mrs Jane Smith directly asked him. Samuel looked at Jude after Jude nodded his head, Samuel looked back at Mr and Mrs Smith.
"What I'm going to tell you, you must not be over shock."
"What is it doctor?" it's Mr Smith asked.
"I attended to Miss Rose last two weeks when she was heavily drugged by someone." Both Mr and Mrs Smith gasped in disbelief. Even Jeremy, who stood quietly was astounded. Drugged? Goodness! Who the hell brave enough to drug his lady boss? I'm going to kill them!
" Are you serious doctor? " Mrs Jane Smith was worried when she learned the truth.
"Yes. It was G20." This time both Mr and Mrs Smith were paled. Did... Did the doctor said G20? Jude realised something was wrong when he studied their expressions. There was an unspeakable secret between them.
"How is it possible doctor? Isn't that drug was prohibited? Where did they get it?" Mrs Jane Smith was totally floored with the news. She never thought her daughter would be the victim of G20.
"It is prohibited. But some people might try, by all means, to get their hands on it for their own purpose." Samuel paused a while. His expression became solemn next. "Luckily Mr Jude here found her on the street and sent her directly to my hospital. Or else, we never knew what could have happened to your daughter."
"But to treat G20, one must..." Mrs Jane Smith's cheeks turned crimson red as she was too embarrassed to say the words. Mr James Smith held her hand, trying to console his wife, though he himself feeling a great despair deep inside.
