The months passed quickly for Katania as she dedicated all of her energy to her training.
All of her heart and soul was expended to give her the best chance of hearing Empress voice again.
"That should be the last of them!" Katania thought, as she dealt the finishing blow to a lesser demonic fish.
Her clothes were throughly soaked from the water, and the droplets dripped off of her continuously as she made her way out of the small lake a small puddle forming around her feet.
It had been an arduous year of training for her and she was eager to exit, to see her precious uncle who had done this marvelous deed for her.
Thinking of her uncle, a small smile spread across her face.
Katania prepared to exit the world, but she couldn't bring herself to immediately leave.
"It really is quite beautiful here," she sighed...
"If only it were possible to return," a small measure of loss filled her heart as she left the world behind.
After leaving the space Katania quickly found her uncle, she gave him many sincere hugs and kisses and promised to return whenever she could, after which she quickly departed the estate, racing back to House Voorhees.
Back at House Voorhes it was not peaceful at all.
In fact, the gates and walls were currently surrounded by a mob.
A servant ran up to the man standing on the balcony.
"Master Voorhees, they are demanding you meet with them!" he exclaimed frantically as he lay prostrate upon the floor.
For the servants, any issues that arose for their masters would directly affect them.
In this world, apart from strength; Loyalty was everything to cultivators and as such, no one would spare the servants of a previous master if they came bearing ill intentions.
Sir Voorhees currently bore a splitting headache, he knew what they wanted, "This worthless bitch," he swore while pinching his nose firmly between his thumb and forefinger.
The old men outside the gates wanted him to marry his daughter off, and naturally he had no problem with this, however, he couldn't very well marry her off to all of them could he?
"Tell them that this isn't appropriate! proposals of marriage should be done formally, what kind of fucking situation is this!" He was angry, and what's more, his son was currently clinging so tightly to his cloak his hands were white, glistening tears shining in his eyes, "Look at my son! they've scared him!" he roared savagely.
And the stack of letters he'd received demanding Katania's hand in marriage to their sons were flung over the edge of the balcony.
Seeing this the crowd went into an uproar, many began scaling the walls of the estate; furious at what they took to be a blatant rejection of their requests.
Sir Voorhees face paled as he became aware of what he'd just done.
"Fuck it, just forget it, since its come to this let them in," he ordered, and swinging his son up into his arms he left the balcony his cloak billowing thickly behind him.
Sir Voorhees met with the men in a large room, it was the largest room in the castle and yet was barely able to accommodate them all.
"Gentlemen, since its come to this I'm afraid I have no choice but to ask you all to decide amongst yourselves which of your sons will marry my daughter," he made his stance plain, saying so he abruptly sat down.
Immediately, numerous voices erupted from the many individuals seated all of them boasting of their own sons cultivation, talent, prowess and upbringing.
Naturally, Sir Voorhees wasn't listening?
He actually didn't care who married his daughter, as long as this matter was resolved he would be content.
"Master Voorhees, surely you must be joking,"
A cold, crisp voice cut through the noisy chatter.
Sir Voorhees inclined his head, "Master Renaud, what do you mean by that?" he asked cautiously.
"This old man will not make things difficult for you," he stated, pulling a pen and roll of papers from inside his cloak.
"Sign this marriage arrangement between my son and your daughter and we shall consider this matter finished," his tone was quite overbearing, Sir Voorhees was slightly stunned and did not recover in a short period, but before he could answer... A sharp, cold voice broke the awkward silence.
"Amd what if I refuse," Katania had arrived, and she had heard every words these disgusting pigs had to say regarding her future, as if she was unworthy of consideration, as if she was nothing more than air.
Sir Renaud stood- "My dear," he said approaching her, an amiable expression on his face, "Try to understand, my son has been in love with you for many years now, the poor boy has not been himself!" Katania regarded the man coldly, "And? Does who I love not matter? only your sons feelings should be taken into account?" She was close to yelling.
At this the other fathers of the potential suitors perked up.
Katania's icy glare swept over them as well, "Do not misunderstand, I have no interest in any of your sons."
Their faces fell.
Sir Renaud was not one to bow his head though.
Regaining his former overbearing aura he said, "Unfortunately my dear, this matter is not up to you!" and he turned his back on her while turning towards Sir Voorhees who was already nodding his head in agreement emphatically, he grabbed for the pen.
Katania opened her mouth to protest but Sir Renaud immediately emitted his aura of a Peak Earthly realm cultivator, "My dear, this matter is settled." he said simply, his manner was too overbearing!
Katania began to laugh, a sharp, piercingly sweet laugh, it was almost musical.
She emitted her aura of a grade 1 Heavenly realm cultivator, directly suppressing Sir Renauds' mere peak Earthly realm cultivation.
The pressure inside the room was so thick they could hardly breathe, every single last one of them vomited blood onto the floor.
Their injuries certainly were not light.
"And I said that it isn't..." she said coldly, and the marriage agreement burned to ashes.
