Ex-Daughter of the ‘Tang’ Family

After Fangsu left the Tang household with her grandpa hand in hand. A massive amount of weight had been lifted from her shoulder giving her a sense of peace which she never once felt before, "I didn't think you were the daughter of the all-powerful 'Tang' family," The driver reveals himself to be Zhao Hui who was smiled at the two.

A peaceful and serene smile laced Fangsu's face which stunned the young man who was usually quite apathy towards women, "It's better that I don't have the Tang family attaches to mine," Staring at the bright light from the sunbeam into the carriage before closing the curtain to filter out the harsh light. Fangsu nestled her head in between her arms on the seat, closing her eyes slowly drifting off to sleep. Fangsu's grandpa took out a pillow and a small blanket from his spatial ring, carefully placing those items to make her rest much more comfortable.

But, the only thing that unsettled Chen Hong was the young man who was leading the carriage. He wasn't aware that his granddaughter and the young man was acquainted well before this incident. The young man had appeared yesterday at Flowery Fragrance during the Qi pressure face-off and despite the massive amount of pressure being released by seasoned veteran cultivators. The young man was able to move with ease and help protect his granddaughter. This was extremely off-putting as it meant that the young man was of equal or more powerful than himself which could be dangerous if this man decided to turn against his granddaughter.

Zhao Hui chuckled at the old man's wary gaze that was direct towards him, "No need to worry about me hurting your granddaughter," Trying to reassure the old man but it only increased the wariness if the old man, "My grandmother would kill me if I touch a single hair on your granddaughter!" Laughing to himself as he continued to lead the carriage to the Flowery Fragrance but the old man told him to change locations to a secluded street where there was an extremely strong barrier. The mechanisms of the barrier are from a time not of their own so there were very few who knew how to create it. Even Zhao Hui who had travelled to many places before had never seen a barrier formation like this before.

Fangsu's grandpa carried Fangsu in his arm to take her inside but before he entered the barrier turning to the young man who was riding the carriage, "I hope that you will not try to pry too much into the Chen Family's secrets," Leaving behind Zhao Hui to enter the house under the protection of the barrier.

Yun Nan began cursing long string of sentences as she saw the internal damage that Fangsu sustained from one visit from the Tang Household, "Are you kicking my ass?" Making the medicine to help aid the recovery for Fangsu, "Does that idiotic man replace his brain for a dick?" She began verbally bashing the stupidity of the Head of the Tang as well as viciously bashing the ingredients needed for the medicine.

Laughter resonated through the corridor as Fangsu continue to lay on her bed with Huan lazily laying on her laps hearing the profanity that spilt from Yun Nan's lips. Those words perfectly describe the bastard of a father which caused a smile to spread on her face which scared Ming Yue who was playing with the other cats. As Fangsu continued to stay in her bed to recuperate her health staring out at the bright sky and Yun Nan handed Fangsu the freshly brewed medicine was similar to the other medicines she had taken before in her life. Grimacing at the bitter taste, the brown concoction was the most bitter thing Fangsu had tasted from all the past medicines she has taken before.

Whilst Fangsu was waiting for the bitter taste of the medicine to leave her mouth, Yun Nan sat at the bed writing down in her journal on Fangsu health records, "With this constant internal injury damage your overall health," Yun Nan began pulled at her hair, "It will probably decrease the chance of you surviving the next relapse," Yun Nan wanted to pull out her hair wanting to strangle Fangsu's biological father. It was her job to keep Fangsu alive at all cost but with the fact that Fangsu needs an incredible difficult medicine to help stabilise her body.

Just remembering the ingredient list was frustrating enough and it could cause Yun Nan to have high blood pressure from the anger and stress. Seeing that Yun Nan was seething with anger Fangsu grabbed Yun Nan's shoulder and pulled her to the bed. Massaging Yun Nan's temples, "Relax." Helping to alleviate some of the tension in Yun Nan's muscles, "There is no use worrying about the past and if I don't survive the next relapse than I don't survive," Once Yun Nan heard those words, she was shocked beyond compare. Fangsu had already resigned herself to fate knowing of her impending death.

Yun Nan flipped herself to lay on her stomach, "Fangsu, please don't think that way your grandfather will be upset if she heard those words," Clenching her fist seeing the dimming hope that Fangsu could no longer hold on to, "I will find a way," The only glimmering sheen in Fangsu's eye left was starting to dim.

Fangsu shook her head, "I don't want to have a life where I have to constantly having to take medicine and there is no guarantee I will still be alive until they find the cure." Fangsu's voices slightly broke as she began hiccuping with tears. A life being under the constant care of others was not the life that Fangsu wanted. Feeling the tears run down her face and wetting the pillow underneath her, Fangsu shoved Yun Nan out of the room. Burying her head into the pillow as she remembered the faces of her family. Her twin sister uses to always tell her she was a big crybaby. Singing was the only way Fangsu knew to do when she was sad.

The twilight falls

Opening my tired eyes

Tonight is a starless night

I wish I could awaken

From this terrifying nightmare

Only to see nothing but that

Red Blood Burns My Eyes

Living is hard

I wish to see you again

The magnolias fall to rest upon our palms

But now fighting against the pain

Which is trapped inside my tears

The night is not over

Leaving me to steer the boat alone

Passing by the Bridge of Departure

Seeing your face

The only reason I'm alive

Is that I stepped on your dead body

Playing your tune

Till the night ends

(This is not cohesive because this is my own and something I thought right off my head)

No one was here beside the animals and Yun Nan because her grandfather was at Blossoming Fragrance. Crawling out through the window, Fangsu sat against the trunk of the tree surrounded once again by Tian, Huan and Bai Xue huddling against her body which instantly heated Fangsu up too quickly causing her to wriggle out of the heated bundle of animals to cool herself, "Ming Yue, do you think you could fight against another spirit with the level you are at?" Fangsu asked seeing that she had nothing to do.

Ming Yue nodded, "It's possible but against the stronger spirits I would stand no chance I would easily be eaten?" Shivering at the thought of being eaten by other more powerful spirit scared Ming Yue. There is a lingering feeling that was tying Ming Yue and that was Fangsu who was the one who was lent her a reason to continue living her new life as a spirit.

But the information that Ming Yue spoke of was interesting to Fangsu, "Spirits can eat each other?" Ming Yue nodded explaining the different levels that a spirit can acquire and that the resulting gain would be that of a physical manifestation of a body. The only reason that Ming Yue was able to avoid such a dangerous fate was because of the cultivation method which Fangsu had given her.

Ming Yue was quite resourceful in terms of gathering information, "So what rank are you?" But in terms of protecting Fangsu, she was lacking in the strength department, "I can't judge you based on normal human cultivation ranks," Fangsu began to concentrate on trying to listen and try to compare the information that Fangsu had retained from the jade tablet that instilled information into her.

Fangsu then decided it was time to do some shopping and information in the black market. Wen Cheng has briefly mentioned that the black market has some good information and goodies that aren't usually available to the public, "Ming Yue, we are going shopping," Dressing into male clothing and donning a full white mask, Fangsu tied her hair into a male hairstyle before deciding to leave her ash grey hair alone, "Make sure to watch my back," Packing some powder bombs, dagger and banknotes. Fangsu climbed from the window and easily climb to the rooftop, jumping from one to another. However, a roof tile came loose along with her footing which caused her to fall from the tall height. Fangsu landed on all fours but her knees scraped against the ground. Ming Yue rushed to Fangsu side as she was quite worried that Fangsu had fallen such a frightening height.

Despite the mishap, due to her carelessness, Fangsu continued her way to the entry of dingy entry that had a sign that simply said Treasure Trove. A young receptionist sat at the entrance bored as there was no customer flow but as he saw a young male with an unusual hair colour coming his way, "Are you here for the market or something else?" Rubbing his hand gleefully as he recognised that this young man was fresh meat.

The Treasure Trove had a password that was needed to enter. Luckily Wen Cheng told her the password, "May the crimson blood of life run freely through your veins," Fangsu adjusted her voice to sound gender neutral so that no one would recognise her.

The receptionist smiled at Fangsu giving her a blank wooden tablet had the carving of a treasure chest, but as Fangsu went to grab the wooden tablet the receptionist pull it out of her reach, "Pay up one gold," the receptionist held up his hand to receive the money. Fangsu went to her robes to receive her banknotes from a secret pocket designed to prevent thieves from taking her money.

But, before Fangsu could pay the receptionist someone stopped her, "This one is with me," Facing the man Fangsu nearly shouted out in shock. It was Zhao Hui that granted her entry pass and upgraded it to a VIP pass. He was the only person outside of the people she was familiar with who could have recognised her by her ash grey hair.

Zhao Hui gently guided Fangsu into the black market, "I have to ask what are doing in a place like this?" Zhao Hui quietly whispered into Fangsu's ear, "Your grandpa will be shocked to know you are here," Only Fangsu could hear his words.

The closeness between the two made Fangsu uncomfortable, "Don't get so close to me," Pushing Zhao Hui's face away from hers which cause him to smirk.

Zhao Hui stood back up before looking at Ming Yue who flinched at his gaze, "Impressive, you were able to make a contract with a medium ranked spirit," Zhao Hui's statement confused Fangsu as she had never made a contracting relationship with Ming Yue.

Fangsu tilted her head confusedly, "I didn't make a contract with Ming Yue," This surprised Zhao Hui who chuckled seeing the Spirit must have a strong attraction to Fangsu to be able to stick to her side. Zhao Hui grinned at Fangsu before turning to the massive crowd, "Zhao-" Fangsu was about to call for him but he silenced her by placing his hand over her mouth.

He looked around before facing Fangsu, "In this place, it is imperative that you don't reveal your identity here only use aliases or nicknames," He released Fangsu before sighing, "My name in here is Ren Mosheng," An alias was suitable for a dangerous place like the black market.

Fangsu had to think of a name suitable for herself, "Then my name will be Ghost Songstress," It was the name that was given to her because of her singing.
