Fenrir Blackwood

Elijah was sitting alone in front of a table, eating a meal and drinking beer.

His appearance was changed. His once messy silver hair was cut shorter and dyed red.

He didn't use his headband to cover his eyes anymore, he just kept them closed.

Elijah had a new tattoo over his left eye, it was a black chinese style coiling dragon that went over his eyebrow down to his cheek. He was wearing normal leather clothes for rangers with a long brown coat that had black neck fur.

Elijah separated part of the meat and gave it to the small falcon on his shoulder, it instantly gobbled it down happily, rubbing its head against Elijah's face.

Elijah smiled evilly, this wasn't a normal Demonic Beast like the others he had met before.

He recalled what happened 5 days ago when he thought about the falcon on his shoulder.

"Guildmaster aren't we flying back to the Ranger Guild branch?" Asked Elijah somewhat unsure when he watched them leaving Esmerald City behind them.

The Guildmaster didn't look back, he stood relaxed on the back of the gigantic bird.

"No, I'm taking you to the safest place possible, the border. The Headmaster Mason will be suspicious why I came personally to save you. They tested your aptitude and you Soul Flux is saved inside the Pillar. It won't be long until everyone knows that you have a Mystic Bloodline."

Elijah was stunned, "So that's how it is..."

"Yes, that's how it is. We have already prepared if such a thing happened, you will take another identity. We have everything ready for you, your new name is Tom Blackwood." Spoke the Guildmaster.

Elijah's mouth twitched annoyed, 'Do I look like a Tom? Or like a Jerry?!'

"Guildmaster I can't accept the first name." Protested Elijah.

"Bear with it, it's for your safety." Answered the Guildmaster flatly.

Elijah clicked his tongue, "I want my name to be Fenrir Blackwood, I won't accept another name." Spoke Elijah with a cold voice.

The Headmaster turned around, he stared at Elijah for a while. He couldn't really tell what Elijah's expression was because the headband that covered his eyes, but he could feel a violent aura boiling inside Elijah.

"Fine..." Answered the Guildmaster reculantly.

Elijah relaxed and watched how fast they flew through the lands.

The name Fenrir was given to him by his old buddies back in his army time on Earth.

He immersed himself in his old memories.

He missed the times with his old buddies...

His memories changed from his buddies to that of his mother.

He recalled the day he told her that he would join the army to fight in the war...

"You will join the army?" Asked a pretty woman who was in her thirties.

"Mom you can't stop me from doing this, I will fight for us." Answered a youth whose face shared some similarities with the Terran Elijah from now.

His mother stopped cleaning the plates and turned to Elijah.

"You are not honest, you don't want to fight for us...you want to fight for yourself. But the army is the only place you can finally bloom. I will support you."

Elijah recalled how confusing he found his mother's words at that time, only later when he matured did he understand her. Even today he found that his eccentric mother had something godlike on her. He had never met his father and never cared about it in his past life, his mother was his everything. Her view on things was strange and her gift to understand other people baffled him.

He took off his headband and opened his eyes, gazing at the horizon. They pale grey and lacked the luster but only for a brief moment a silver spark appeared inside the deepest part.

Elijah wanted to throw away his headband but decided against it, he didn't know what kind of people would come after him and he stored the headband inside his space ring.

'I would puke blood if the headband ends up as the tool that my enemies use to track me down...' He had read and watched enough movies to know that it was often the little things that lead to one demise.

They soon started to descended. The gigantic bird left them beside a small hut in the middle of nowhere.

The Guildmaster signaled him to follow him into the hut.

Elijah followed him inside, there was a stranger sitting in front of a chimney while smoking leisurely on a pipe.

The stranger turned around when they entered the hut. He nodded to the Guildmaster and stood up, walking to another room.

Elijah was impressed how the Guildmaster had handled everything so professionally.

The stranger came back with some things.

"Fenrir, sit down this man will make tattoo on your face." Said the Guildmaster.

"What? A face tattoo? Are you insane?" Cursed Elijah loudly.

The stranger flinched back, he looked frightened over to the Guildmaster who just laughed Elijah's curse off.

He arrived way too quickly behind Elijah and hit him on his head before the latter could even blink.

The Guildmaster took the unconscious boy and placed him on the chair, "You can start now." Ordered the Guildmaster.

The stranger nodded like a chicken.

Elijah opened his eyes slowly, he held his head that hurt a lot.

He groaned annoyed, looking around.

The Guildmaster was sitting relaxed on a chair, smiling at him.

"That was a dirty move right there." Spoke Elijah annoyed.

The Guildmaster just shrugged, "Come and bite me if you can hahaha."

Elijah shook his head in defeat, he opened his mouth but closed it immediately again.

'That was a close call right there, I almost asked for a mirror.' Thought Elijah.

"Right where is the man?" Asked Elijah while looking around.

"Ah? His is there." Said the Guildmaster who pointed at a pile of ash on the floor.

Elijah stared at it for a moment, "No loose ends huh?"

"Exactly. Can I ask you a question?"

Elijah looked over at the Guildmaster, "What is it?"

"I'm curious, can you actually see? Your eyes look like they don't have sight but their movements are pretty accurate for a blind person." The Guildmaster's sharp gaze met with Elijah's somehow sad, pale grey eyes.

"Do they? I can't tell. I can see but not with my eyes." Answered Elijah while he was cursing at himself for messing up.

"Okay, do you want to actually see?" Asked the Guildmaster with a smile.

A frown appeared on Elijah's face.

"I know you already have tamed a Purple Death Cobra but this one will be very useful to you now and in the future." The Headmaster pointed at an egg that was inside the fire on the chimney.

"What is that?" Asked Elijah excited.

"That is a Thunderclaw Falcon, it has the potential to grow into a Tier 6 Demonic Beast, that and this are my gifts for you." The Guildmaster threw a very old looking scroll to Elijah who catched it.

"Ancient Beast Taming Art"

"Read it, and give it back to me when you remember everything inside it." Said the Headmaster.

Elijah nodded and read its content. He sighed in wonder, this was the original version of the Beast Taming Art and was indeed superior, it allowed to enslave half of the soul for the tamed beast, even if it was 1 whole Realm stronger than the tamer. It was useless to him but he could imagine how many people would go crazy over this art.

He gave the scroll back to the Guildmaster who nodded. Elijah signed a Life Contract afterwards to never disclose the Ancient Beast Taming Art to anyone. This was now his third Life Contract, the first was for the Silver Stream, second for the Beast Taming Art and now for the Ancient Beast Taming Art.

"I need to go back now, everything you need is inside the space ring I left on the table for you. The Thunderclaw Falcon will soon hatch. Use the Ancient Beast Taming Art on it, you will be able to see what it sees after you train for a bit. Don't do something stupid and stay inside of the Forbidden Forest as long you can and improve your strength. I know the Forbidden Forest is dangerous but that also makes it the safest place for you. Best luck Elijah...." The Guildmaster left the hut, leaving behind a gust of wind.
