I Remember...

I Remember...

When I was accidentally thrown into this world I felt lost and feared the unknown. I looked at the beautiful scenery of shimmering leaves and the emerald grass, I looked at the sky filled with clouds of the whitest color dancing like fairies on an azure canvas. I smelled the smell of life and vitality in the air it filled my heart with calmness as if I was in the embrace of mother nature, a gentle voice whispering of protection and peace. I saw water falling down a waterfall creating the most beautiful of sounds, Birds chirping and cheering as they played with each other.

At first, I thought about the Afterlife and suspected that I was in heaven but that didn't make sense because soon after, I came upon a village and learned that I was in another world, a cultivation world to be exact.

I met a simple but lonely villager named 3rd cloud who took me in and helped me deal with my problems, during my stay in that village I helped him do many things from wood cutting to simple chores and he provided food and proper clothing of this world, although the clothing took a long time for me to get used to since it was very uncomfortable and rough, I had to get used to it because my earth clothes made me stand out and the last thing I needed was that.

The structure of the village was simple and resembled ancient Chinese village's with a touch of Monolithic architecture. The cities, etc. that I would go to visit were also the same although the mix of these created an elegant and majestic feeling to the buildings and settlements which were only going to be present in cities and bigger or higher ranked settlements.

I would later learn that the reason for the Chinese feeling came from tradition and the Monolithic Architecture from the fact that they created these buildings from one massive material like a massive bolder or in some cases mountain!!!!!! and after that, they would go and design it for the desired effect, After all, there existed a massive population of superhumans in this world and they could do these insane things.

The villagers were all simple and kind people and I felt really warm when I stayed with them but the warm feeling vanished the moment I heard one of them talk about a flying immortal. I instantly understood the true nature of my situation and I knew that there was a way to go back home with a high enough cultivation since this world was definitely a world of such beings if it had flying immortals.

I struggled for a long time and eventually, I decided to go and look for these immortals and see if my speculations were correct. but of course, there were other reasons for that as well, I had read about these worlds and deep in my heart, I felt a desire to be immortal and soar the skies.

I strengthened my will and risked my life and decided to venture into the unknown. The wood cutting village in which I was staying inside, was a very remote place that had almost no access to other human settlements but one road leading into a forest known as the empty forest.

So I began my journey there towards the unknown...

I met the first immortal cultivators there and first had experienced the impossible and I felt hope, I was even given a compass of sorts by one of them which I felt gratitude towards.

all didn't go well though, Due to some accident I was knocked unconscious. I was trapped in a half-sleep, half-awake state and a voice was constantly saying the same over and over and over.

At first, It was bearable but I couldn't handle it after hours and It became torturous for me. I felt rage and so the first thing I did was shout something without really meaning it, this act of mine whether foolish or wise made me lose my only possible cheat in this foreign place. I even cried...

I calmed down and decided to see if I could still speak the language and yes, although my cheat was gone, the understanding of the language of this world remained with me. I used the compass to traverse a very strange terrain filled with monsters and beasts that didn't approach me due to the various functions of the compass. The strange golden trees and beasts were a fascinating sight to behold.

I reached the city and was dumbfounded for a while by its beauty and majesty, the great wall, the massive palace, and all the other things...

I buried the compass near the city and entered. since the compass would begin to fade away when it neared the walls probably due to some unknown magic by the hands of that immortal cultivator I had to leave it temporarily.

I asked around and after getting familiar with the society, I decided to use my knowledge and give the scholar's guild a try. I honestly didn't expect it to turn out so well and make a friend named Zi Bai.

I wrote some books about math and got some money to get by and fund my research. Eventually, I realized how cultivation worked and why I was essentially a cripple because I didn't have a spiritual root. I didn't feel despair at all, having dealt with my losing my cheat made this step back seem small and besides most MC I had read about started with a similar condition so, I instead felt the determination to get a Spiritual root, I reasoned that since this world was magical then everything was possible.

I learned about the structure of the city and the traditions and common sense and much more...

Weeks went by...

After reading many books and gathering a lot of knowledge I knew that the key laid in alchemy so I focused on pills and refinement and various other subjects. Alchemy was an art that required no cultivation for the beginning and intermediate stages. Alchemy was the art specially designed to make medicine and pills out of mystical plants.

Professions in this world including alchemists and scholars were graded from 1 to 10, A Mortal could only become a grade 4 alchemist without any cultivation. A grand Scholar was a Grade 7 scholar, and scholars were the only ones that didn't need cultivation to get to grade 10.

When one reached grade 7 they would be known as a Grand one in that profession, 8th grade was known as Grand Master, 9th known as Royal Master and 10th known as Divine Master.

I focused on studying alchemy and tried becoming an alchemist, I learned their techniques and performed them and realized I had talent which gathered the attention of some notable figures but since I was on a mission, I became a lone wolf. I had several friends but none were close beside Zi Bai because I didn't have the time to have anyone bother with me.

Weeks went by like this, me studying and some times joining my newly distant friends to chat and spend time...

I Finally found the general direction I was looking for, I needed Spiritual roots for further studies and I came up with a most sinister and cruel plan to get them. I am was never proud of what I did but I never regretted doing it.

I killed many cultivators by using beasts, I lured them inside a trap with the alure of treasure using their greed and had the beasts do the job for me since I was merely an ant compared to Immortal practitioners. I always approached near the monsters when the beasts were going to devour the corpses so I had many samples to work with.

Long hours of research and study finally bore fruit as I found a way to get a spiritual root, The method involving Alchemy and some mechanism that I was inspired to create from Earth's technology.

The core of a Spiritual Root resided near the Solar plexus and when it began to integrate with a new person it would form a root-like body at the lower abdomen and then create veins to channel Qi throughout their entire body using the person's blood as fuel. the process of planting a Spiritual root inside a mortal was completely non-lethal as long as the person had enough blood and could endure the pain.

The process as expected was extremely painful, I felt like I was being boiled and cooked as many small worms crawled inside me, my abdomen was on fire and my heartbeat was insanely high. I was too reckless but thankfully I succeeded due to luck and ample preparations.

After resting, I felt like a whole new person. The world around me appeared much more vibrant and lively, There was this ocean of fog that was visible with only my newly acquired 6th sense. The energy surrounded everything, It had this strange feeling to it like it was your parent but at the same time It felt neutral and heartless, very hard to describe. It emitted a powerful pressure and I felt like I was a fish in the depth of the ocean.

Not long after, I studied all the cultivation techniques and due to an epiphany created my cultivation technique from a mix of many others. The cultivation techniques I had obtained from cultivators I had indirectly killed were complex. They all relied on Spiritual Qi, The passive energy I was feeling that existed in the world, the techniques would help one cultivate a specific type of Qi. The techniques instructed the practitioner to let the energy flow in certain ways inside their veins as they breathed in special ways whilst sitting in a lotus position and absorb it.

After reading so many cultivation techniques, I became familiar with the effects of letting Qi flow in certain ways and speculated the reasons behind other details such as the breathing patterns and such, that's how I was able to create a cultivation technique for the 1st realm. The purpose of the 1st realm also known as Mortal Transformation was to improve the body and expel the mortal air accumulated inside the body so that it can withstand the liquid and potent form of Qi.

In the 1st realm, Qi would form a foggy Vortex then nourish and purify the body granting 90 additional years of lifespan and youth upon completion, coupled with the average 200-year lifespan of humans in this world, it meant 290 years of average lifespan for a cultivator who has failed to reach Heavenly Transformation but is at the peak of the 1st realm.

Cultivating according to my technique worked amazingly, I quickly advanced with insane speed, although the high quality of my Spiritual root was also a great influence on my high talent that I had given myself through hard work.

I tried using my Qi and surprisingly my Qi had very amazing adaptability due to not filtering it whilst absorbing it, and when it left my body it took the form a beautiful Azure flame that could instantly change its temperature from freezing cold to searing hot.

After celebrating for my success and cultivating as much as I could with the resources I had gathered, my pocket eventually became empty.

I had no choice but to come up with a plan to get as rich as possible and that led me to cause a disaster for the whole city...

All of that effort paid off, I was finally rich and on my way to becoming a mighty immortal to return home. Before leaving I made sure to leave some of the new books, which I had written that weren't published yet for Zi Bait so that he would make more progress and one day become a true Grand scholar.

Stepping upon the grass as I feel Heartache, I turn to see the city as the lands shake, my heart begins to regret, yet through this hard path, I must thread.
