With only one way to go Geo decided it was best to keep on walking, there was no way back anymore.
"It seems it's time to move forward, knowing there is no other way."
As Geo turned around the ground began to shake, not knowing what to do Geo braced himself for whatever could be happening.
Running faster than he had ever done...
The ceiling above him began to collapse making it clear there was no other way out.
Geo tried to stay ahead of the rubble and accomplished to do this for quite some time...
Until he got distracted by light at the end of the tunnel. Seeing this made him slow down his pace.
And as he did, the rubble began to gain on him.
Unable to keep ahead of the falling rubble Geo's only hope was an opening within the wall or something similar close by. But just before he began to give up, a final spurt of power allowed him to rush through the opening and bolt into the open air? One there the cavern he had supposedly rushed out off collapsed completely becoming one with the mountain.
Geo turned around realizing he had been running throughout the entirety of it, as he gasped for air and collapsed onto the ground relieved he had outgunned the rumbling of the mountain.
Still... something didn't feel right...
"Why did it suddenly stop? I thought I was done for..."
*phew*
"Thankfully I'm still alive..."
Geo lay there on the ground, having to spend All his energy he was unable to move for several hours.
During which he thought of what to do when finally his stomach began to growl.
*growl*
This enabled him to stand up, in the hopes that he could find something to eat, not knowing where he was didn't help. But at least there was a river.
"A river? In the middle of nowhere? Who would have thought... Well, as long as I'll follow it there is bound to be something edible along the way, right?"
The hunger drove Geo to follow the river, hoping there would be food at the end of it. But as again quite some time had passed his chances seemed bleak...
That is until he stumbled upon a waterfall.
"A dead end?"
Geo asked himself as he looked down, upon looking he realized he needed to find a way down, for there was a pond, a pond with all kinds of plant life growing around it. Most of them were edible so Geo rushed towards the edge not caring about how to get down.
A quick leap forward allowed him to drive towards the center of the pond, allowing the water to break in such a way that he could get out of it unharmed.
For a moment Geo thought about the risk he had just taken to decent down into the pond, as sharp reefs could have been waiting for him at the edge of the water which was covered with the foaming bubbles of the water descending from the waterfall.
As quickly as he realized this, Geo shrugged it off and swam towards the edge of the pond. Wanting to quickly eat the berries and mushrooms he had found Geo tried to summon his powers once more.
Again disappointment falls on him as nothing manifested... even trying his best didn't work anymore, which meant he had to survive without the elemental cheat code he used for so long...
In other words, he had to start from scratch...
As Geo needed tools to gather enough rations there had to be a way to build them. Basic tools could be made if he could find rocks lying around.
But before he could look around for them Geo had to eat his fill or he would die from hunger. Not allowing himself to die such a pathetic death as the food was an abundance all around him,
he quickly began to eat his share.
Knowing he had quite a big appetite most bushes had been plucked empty within minutes. Some mushrooms Geo left alone as he was aware that they were poisonous, as time passed by Geo had eaten his share. Not wanting to waste any more time he quickly looked around the area hoping to find some rocks he could smash. Gathering a rough amount he quickly began to smash them into each other as the hardest part would be to create a sharp-edged rock with only your hands.
Slamming rocks into each other several attempts had passed by when finally he broke one in two resulting in a sharp edge.
"Good, I can use this to speed up the process of the others."
Geo praised himself as he continued to read the heads of dome basic tools, as well as a long and sharp spearhead.
When he had finished all of them and found a way to take them all with him without too much of a hassle. Geo continued forwards. Quickly realizing it had become darker, he needed to find a light source. But... what could he use...
There was an abundance of sticks, trees, and bark all around him, but when he needed something flammable to last for a while there was nothing he could think of... well... nothing but the hide of an animal, but as he looked around there were none to be found...
The area he was in had the same magical vibe as the rest of the forest, plants lighted up all around him allowing Geo to see what was happening in front of him. Realizing he might not need a light source he continued to move forwards.
Along the way the terrain slightly began to chance as rubble was laying everywhere, it was clear he had stumbled upon something ancient...
Something is forgotten by civilization...
But what could it be? Why had this area been abandoned while it was full of life?!
Geo couldn't wrap his head around it...
Deciding not to care much about it he continued on his way, hoping to find a way out,
or even a place to spend the night.
Looking around the site, it became clear that those who lived here had abandoned it a long time ago...
Roots were growing and covering the remaining walls of what seemed to resemble several ruins.
All around there were spots that hadn't been covered with plants or roots, while at some other places there was nothing but roots. Open spots between rubble resembled what Geo could only see as doors when finally a large open area piqued his interest. The green of the area had taken over covering most of the walls and even the ground, but in the middle, only roots seemed to cover something.
Something that felt out of place...
Upon closer inspection, something round and metallic had been build into the ground,
but why was it there?
The ruins all were made out of stone.
Why was there something metallic in the center?
Geo asked himself this question as the burning feeling began to draw him in. Slowly walking closer he didn't notice the pressure plates he had stepped on. Lighting something up close to the ground.
His feet got caught in it activating some kind of mechanism, and as he reached out to touch the metallic object a projection began to form above it.
The projection showed vague looking images of what appeared to be people. He didn't know what he was looking at but suddenly he could hear a voice.
"Whoever is watching this, please heed the warning of the ancients, our proud clan has been fighting for the survival of the planet since ancient times, living in harmony with whatever it would provide us with. Soon we found out our people were blessed by the goddess known as Gaia, for she reached out to the world granting its riches and abundance for all to share.
Until one day those from the Highlands struck down on us, beasts not from this world were unleashed upon allowing them to feed their insatiable hunger for more. Our tribes had fought to protect nature in a noble attempt we quickly found to be outmatched one to fifty
Women and children slaughtered in front of our eyes as we watched helplessly. Those who could escape hiding within the shadows,
living within the barrier.
Whoever has found our civilization heed my warning for they will return! If by chance the ruins of oblivion have been activated once more,
we have to test those who venture within as those who survive are worthy and are chosen to inherit out ancient ways. But beware as the challenge ahead may cost you your life!
Not wanting anything to do with this Geo quickly collected his thoughts in the hopes that he could just walk away... he stood up and before he knew it found himself within another area. Darkness enveloped him as he couldn't see a thing...
One thing was for sure, he wasn't alone anymore...
