After the Halloween event, there were many rumors circulating around about May and I.
It felt like we were playing broken telephone as these rumours continue spreading from person to person. At first, I didn't mind them, but the rumours started to get annoying as people often gossiped around me wherever I was in school.
"I have good news and bad news" said Henry as he sat down on his seat in the student council room.
Allen, Blake, and I proceeded with what we were doing as we continued listening to him talk.
"The event that we have annually for fifth and sixth graders will not be happening this year. Well it's not that it's not happening, the event is just cancelled for sixth graders" Henry explained.
"C-Cancelled? How come?" I asked.
That means I won't be able to fulfill that promise I made with Richard...!
Henry ignored me and continued with what he was saying,
"Now for the good news..."
There was a short moment of silence as Henry suddenly stopped talking when he was going to announce the good news.
"We will be having a 3 day graduation trip to Ohio, in the U.S." Henry excitingly said.
Eh?
Out of habits, I stood up and accidentally yelled out,
"A trip?!"
Like usual, I sat right back down as I cover my mouth in embarrassment.
"Sorry, please go on with what you were saying" I apologized.
"The days of the trip happened to overlap with the event day. I heard that it was a mistake made by my science teacher. It's unfortunate that we won't be able to participate in the annual event this year." Henry sighed.
Looks like I'm going to have to go home and apologize to Richard.
"So what is our job for the trip this time?" Allen asked.
"This time... We pretty much have no responsibilities" Henry replied.
"Phew..."
"Pfft!!" I laughed.
What made me laugh was how everyone in the student council breathed a sigh of relief at the same time. We went through a lot together for the past two years.
"Don't get too relaxed yet. We still have to act like proper members of the student council and make sure that all the students in our school follow all the teachers' instructions" Henry said.
"Speaking of which, when is this trip?" Blake asked.
"They didn't give me a proper date but they said that we're going to go next month which is quite soon" Henry responded.
"Ehhh? In the cold winter days?" I frowned.
"Seems like it. It won't be that bad" Henry said.
Easy for you to say...
"Here is a copy of the schedule that we will be following on the trip" Henry said as he handed out packages of paper.
Eek! There's so much paper in this package! I assume there's at least 10-20 pages in here!
For the rest of the meeting, we discussed about the trip. I got home quite late today and was once again scolded by my mother. I could hear her words ring in my ear.
"You're still so young and you're coming home so late! It's already dinner time!"
But if I tried to refute her statement by placing the blame on the student council, she would completely ignore whatever I say. At this point, I've given up and just learnt how to endure scoldings. I guess you can call me a professional now... No, it's not a good thing.

Around two weeks later, my homeroom teacher told the class about the graduation trip. Some of us were excited but most of us treated it as a normal trip as it's quite normal for rich people like us to travel around the world.
Olivia, Anna, and I still ended up discussing about where we wanted to go for our free time. It's one of those rare opportunities that I get to go on vacation with my friends...
"Will we be with the other class? I really want to see Blake~" Anna asked me.
"We'll be travelling together so you don't have to worry" I replied.
"Wouldn't the teachers have to supervise many of us at once?" Olivia said.
"That's their job!" I smiled.
These teachers need some more work! It's about time for the student council to take a break. Thinking of it, Henry needs to select the next members for the student council. I wonder if he has decided on it yet?

Today was also one of the odd days as I ended up sitting with Henry and the other two members of the student council for lunch. Well, only to talk about the future of the school.
"My successor is going to be Jax who's currently in fifth grade" Henry said.
S-Successor...? Not the right word but okay... And today was another one of those days where the rest of the student council stared at our president worriedly.
"Don't worry. From what I can see, you three seem concerned and it looks like you three don't trust Jax either. I've met and talked with him quite a few times and you can have some faith in him" Henry smiled.
... This dude doesn't seem to get why we were staring at him like that. The one we're worried for is you, not Jax. Who's Jax anyways?
"Have you decided on who the other members will be?" I asked.
"Jax will do that. He'll be replacing me soon anyways" Henry replied.
I-Irresponsible like usual...! Once in a while, Henry's dependable but today isn't his day!
I'd like to get out of here as soon as possible.
The lunch "meeting" I had consisted of Henry boasting about his junior. I hope I won't be involved with him once he gets together with the female lead. I REALLY REALLY do not want to hear him constantly talk about her again!

Time went by in a flash and now I'm sitting in the airport with my luggage and the students of my school.
"I couldn't sleep yesterday!" Anna exclaimed.
"Me too! I couldn't wait" Olivia replied.
"Y-Yeah, nor could I" I mumbled. But not due to excitement, more of exhaustion. Nothing will happen on this trip right? Please...? I did my prayers like usual and brought my luck charms!
"Hmm... I slept quite well. We can't have you falling asleep on the trip when you still need to fulfill your responsibilities" a voice said to me as someone taps my shoulder from behind.
D-Don't turn around... It's a demon! No, It's a liar! I'm going to quote Henry's words on this.
"𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦... 𝘞𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘺 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘯𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴"
No responsibilities? How dare you deceive me! Sigh, here comes three days of suffering for poor Natalie...
