Queen Brooder (1)

"It looks like everybody is here." Cir said with a muffled voice after seeing the other three groups. "What is the situation?"

"The entrance to the nest is on that hill, now that everybody is here, we can decide how to exterminate them." Wulf answered.

D'vina stood up and grabbed her sword while Aleen and Ana followed behind her. Caira and the elf, Elvila, also stood up.

"Are we going to attack the nest directly?" D'vina asked.

The group thought for a moment and Wulf answered. "I don't think it's a good idea. The queen definitively will not leave the nest easily, so we first must find a method to get her out."

"You are right." D'vina nodded. "I can feel some monsters watching us from before we came here, so the queen probably is aware of our presence but chose not to leave the nest. If we attack directly then the queen simply will turtle inside and send monsters to tire us out."

"We are probably missing something." The level five kinal, Cir, said. "This mission has as the goal 'exterminate the monsters'; do the gamemasters want for us to kill more than ten thousand monsters one by one? It will take us forever to kill each monster before we can complete this mission."

Caira shook her head at that moment.

"No, we don't need to kill the monsters one by one."

"What do you mean?" Cir asked curiously.

Caira looked to the three level five before raising her head in pride. "You know that I'm a mage, right? But you don't know that my specialty is widespread destruction. Don't worry, I have a method to get the queen out of the nest."

"Is it so?" D'vina, Cir, and Wulf nodded hearing it.

It was unnecessary to lie in this situation, so they immediately believed her words. Besides, as Cir said, the gamemasters will not make them kill ten thousand lower leveled monsters one by one, so Caira's spells being useful to kill lots of enemies explains the situation.

"I will explain the plan then." Caira said after seeing the others nodding. "I will use my spell to make the queen brooder come out from the nest and then we will kill it. D'vina and Wulf are close-range combatants, so they will attract the queen's attention and receive the brunt of the attack. Me and Cir, on the other hand, are more suited to long-range combat, so we will support and attack from behind."

Everybody nodded hearing it. Caira then looked towards the elf. "Elvila, stay near me and use your skill when the queen comes out."

Elvila nodded.

Once Caira finished speaking, D'vina came close to Aleen and Ana and spoke to them.

"You two will not be useful in the fight against the level five, so stay behind the mage during the fight."

"Understood." Aleen replied firmly.

"Don't lower your guard, boy." D'vina warned Aleen seriously. "We have to concentrate on fighting the level five queen, so we cannot take care of you while the fight is going. The other monsters will definitively attack together with the queen, and many will try to kill you."

Aleen nodded seriously hearing it before smiling and reassuring Ana beside him.

The group then walked towards the nest and stopped two hundred meters away from it.

Once there, Caira walked forward and raised her hand before speaking.

"I'm going to begin."

With that as the signal, Caira's mana began to circulate, and the third spell rune inside her consciousness activated.

Mages must construct a spell inside their consciousness every time they want to advance; such spells are called 'Primary Spells' and they are the most important weapon of a mage.

Caira's third primary spell was called 'Heat Zone', and its workings were very simple. Its only function was to increase the temperature inside a specified area or target.

But its simplicity made it harder to defend against it.

In an instant, the temperature around the nest increased crazily.

To force the queen out, Caira specified the area until two hundred meters underground as the target of her spell, making the monsters inside the nest targets of her attack.

In five seconds, the temperature surpassed 100°C and continued increasing.

Aleen began to hear the monsters inside the nest to cry due to the high temperature, and before long, the first monster escaped from the nest before rushing to the group berserkly, but Wulf killed it with a movement of his claws.

Soon, more monsters escaped and rushed towards the group but none passed Wulf's claws. However, the number continued increasing.

At the same time, Caira added more mana to her spell, continuing to increase the temperature.

Aleen saw the stones inside the area of Caira's spell melting due to high temperatures and the monsters that escaped from the nest were more injured with every second that passed. Some escaped the nest only to die once they reached outside.

But when the monsters' bodies surpassed twenty, it happened.

*ROARRRRRR!!!*

A cry of rage resounded from the nest and caused a small earthquake.

*ROARRRRRR!!!*

The monster roared again, this time with even more strength.

Once the second roar sounded, hundreds of brooders left the nest at the same time before rushing to the attackers. At the same time, more monsters appeared from the surroundings and attacked the group.

"It's beginning." D'vina muttered.

Finally, a third roar was heard.

*ROARRRRRRR!!!*

The earth quaked much stronger than with the two previous roars before and cracks formed around the nest's entrance.

Then, an explosion sounded.

A gigantic monster more than twenty meters long jumped out while destroying the entrance.

An intimidating pressure surged, engulfing Aleen and the others. Many level one fell to the ground unable to endure the pressure, and even Aleen, who was level two, had to circulate his mana furiously to prevent his body from faltering.

When he was finding hard to endure the pressure, the four level five on his side finally acted.

Their presences surged, clashing against the monster's aura and alleviating Aleen and the others' predicament. D'vina adjusted her sword, Wulf bared his claws and Cir took a strange gun from inside his armor.

When the level five monster saw it, it roared again and charged to the group.
