Soo Yon-Five More Minutes

'I think these should do,' she said to herself as she turned around. As soon as her eyes landed on me, her mouth dropped. So did the clothes from her hands.

'Hi,' I greeted, trying my best not to laugh. Her mouth closed and opened again. The shock in her eyes was very visible and she scrambled to pick up the clothes. I stepped forward to pick them up for her.

'Please let me-' she squeaked.

'No it's fine,' I snickered. 'Sorry if I startled you.'

'Oh no,' she moaned. 'I was just...taking the clothes for measurement. And I dropped them. And I-'

'Don't worry about it,' I cut in hastily. The girl's cheeks were red in embarrassment. From the looks of it, she was a foreigner. South Asian, maybe? I dimly recalled that our agency was hiring more foreign staff for our international projects. This girl might have gotten through the International Recruitment Program.

'Oh, you're our new fashion designer,' I stated.

'Yes,' the girl nodded. 'I'm Mia.'

I held out my hand.

'I'm Song Soo-Yon. Nice to meet you Miss Mia.'

Mia hesitated before taking my hand.

'Now if you don't mind Miss Mia,' I said. 'I'd like to rest a bit. If you could excuse me.'

'Yes, Sir,' the girl said. She made her way towards the door.

'Oh by the way Miss Mia,' I called. She turned. 'When I said you could take the clothes from the wardrobe, I was referring to the one outside.'

Mia looked flabbergasted.

'I am so sorry,' she apologized again. 'I didn't know. I am so sorry.'

'It's alright. You didn't know then. Just keep it in mind, okay? And will you be joining us for the staff dinner tonight? I believe it'll be your first time meeting everyone.'

She nodded fervishly and was turning to leave.

'Oh and one more thing,' I said. She turned again.

'Nice dance,' I remarked.

Her face turned red as a tomato. She turned and scurried out.

As I leapt on my bed, I began humming 'Roly poly roly roly poly' and smiled like an idiot.

'Hyung!' A deep voice woke me up. I got up, rubbing my eyes.

'Cheng is that you?' I asked sleepily. Through my blurry vision, I could still make out the ash blond hair.

'Duh,' he said. I groaned.

'I thought you wouldn't be back till late,' I yawned and rolled over to the other side.

'Hyung! Don't fall asleep again!' Cheng hit me with a pillow.

'Five more minutes,' I said sleepily.

'Your five minutes turned to five hours!' he complained. 'Wake up! There are gonna be tons of beautiful ladies at the staff dinner. I don't wanna miss it!'

I cursed at him.
