Chapter 17 - The Private Reading

Soon, they arrive at the carpark of the country's busiest shopping mall, Galore. It is made up of a 6 story shopping mall with 24 levels of offices above it. In the office building it housed a number of designer studios and a number of establish companies.

Lawyer Fu drove them into a private carpark gantry. Upon reaching it, he asked her for one of the access card that will allow them entry into the parking area. Turning in, there were only 10 lots available and all were empty. He turned into one of them and they both got off.

Following him, they walked towards the lift where there is another access card, fingerprinting and iris scan system to make sure that the people entering the building is all autorised. After entering, they are greeted by a group of security personals. where she was lead to a set of doors for the lift that will bring her up to the floor that she needs to be at.

She was in awe when it comes to all the technology that was placed to make sure that the security is top notched. Upon reaching the floor, she stepped out with Lawyer Fu. He lead her slowly into an office space where it is deserted.

"I'm not sure if the Old Madam have told you this before, this is her personal office that she comes to when she needs time alone. The people that she has hired and is working here are top professionals. They were told to take the day off today so as not to distrub us. I will come back with you again on Thursday to introduce all the staff to you. You will find all the answers that you are looking for later and also tomorrow. Let's proceed to Old Madam's office now."

"Ok"

Taking one last look around. she found that the place is minimally decorated and it is an open concept office space. There are only 3 doors and 1 is for her Grandmother's office, another for a meeting room and one more labeled as pantry.

Just as they reached the door, "Miss, please place your palm on the sensor on your right."

She lifted her right hand and placed it on the sensor.

"Good morning and welcome home."

A voice called out. Looking around she is not sure who was it that spoke.

"Thank you. You shocked me."

"Well, I am supposed to scare you on your first time here Miss Fei Fei."

"I didn't know doors can talk."

"I hear the insult, girl. Step on in and we will talk about it after you have settled down. Lawyer Fu, let me know when she is ready."

"Alright, Pam. We will update you in a bit. Please step into the room Miss."

Walking in, there were photos of her and her grandparents on the walls. Her graduation, her wedding photos, her parents wedding photos and her grandparents wedding photos. Two more doors were there. She assumes one is the washroom and another is a storage room.

"Miss, here are the documents that will need you to look through. Please take a sit here." Gesturing to the sitting area, he lay out the documents on the coffee table for her.

"Pamela, will be the one that will be assisting with this will reading. She will be answering all your questions and guiding you through the whole process. I will be back in 2 hours to help you if there is anything that you will need me to answer. I'll be outside during this time waiting for you. If you need me, you just have to press 1 on the desk phone or tell Pamela to call for me. Is there anything else that you would like to ask me at this moment?"

"Yes. Pamela is the AI that spoke a while ago?"

"Yes, Old madam created her with a number of her staff 5 years back. It was created from your failed project back then from school. She has kept it since. I'll make my move first. Pam, please take over."

Tears were threatening to fall and she was so touched by the thing that her Grandmother had done for her that she was not aware of.
