Chapter 23 - The Pain

An Fei left the office alone without her Grandfather because she wanted to swing by the apartment that her Grandmother had given to her.

"Big sister, I have been calling you for so long in the office but there was no respond from you the whole time, what is wrong with you?"

"Pam, when a person is focus, they tend to tune out the sound around them and that is what happened for me. You can check with your friend Google if you don't believe me. You were giving me a headache with your nagging a while ago. Can you please refrain yourself from now on? Else, I will tune you off indefinitely."

"Hmmph, it is not like you were even listening then why would you want to tune me out? Plus the volume on this thing has been adjusted so low that I don't think I can hear myself either-"

"Yeah, grumble. Carry on and I will shut down your server."

"You won't dare!"

"Why not? I am sure I can handle Galore on my own with or without you."

"I'm not talking to you anymore."

"Like I believe you... Pam, can you help me to look into the background of all the staff in Shen Enterprise? The statements I was looking at just now does not look too good. It looks like some of the details has been tempered with. Are you able to hack into the system there via remote and see if you can retreive out the original documents for me to view instead? There is a need to do an investigation based on this."

"Oooohhh.... That's so interesting. I am loving this new Big sister of mine. Now I can use my skills. I'll have them all ready and sent to your email via encryption by tomorrow morning."

"And you say you are not going to talk to me anymore. Like that is going to happen. Do you know anything about the will reading tomorrow?"

"I do but I'm not supposed to say anything. Well, what I can say is that there will be some drama that might be happening. What I know is that Xin and you will be getting the bulk of it. There will be a lot of distant relatives that will be called back for tomorrow and its going to be a party. There will also be some scheming that wil be starting soon. I can't wait for the drama. I have already tapped onto the cameras in the Shen Mansion to capture the whole thing. I'll take out some popcorn and watch the show so give me a good one."

An Fei ignored the Pamela and walked up to the apartment. It is a small two bedroom apartment decorated in warm colours of white and pale yellow. Walking in, she took off her shoes and found a number of indoor slippers in the shoe cabinet with other pairs all ready for its new owner.

She walked into the living room and sat down on the sofa. Reaching out to the side table on her right, she grab onto the photo of her and her grandparents on her wedding day 4 years back. Tears rolled down her cheeks. Clutching it closed to her chest, she curled into a ball and cried her heart out.

Pam heard her cries and tapped onto the cameras in the house. Seeing An Fei crying, she tune out and gave her the space that she needed. Having surpressed the pain for so long, she just needed time alone. Letting it go is so much easier then holding it back in.

As the rain came falling down at its own pace, perhaps feeling the pain and sorrow that An Fei was throwing out. Drowning out her cries. It seems the rain does bring her pain away. washing away giving her a short temporary assurance that the Heavens heard her. She then fell asleep on the sofa.

Ding ~

"Grandfather, I met a long time friend. I'm going out with her for the evening. Don't wait up for me. I'll be back as soon as possible. Good night."

Pam sent out the message and switched off the phone and got back to work.
