Chapter 26 - The Gathering

People started flowing into the Mansion in waves. Those that were well dressed did their best to keep a distance from those that are not dressed in brand. Almost everyone is aware who those well dressed are as they were the main family whose wealth had been growing since they moved out of the small town that the old Shen couple got married.

Walking into the family room, An Fei recognised a number of them from the photos that her Grandmother had shown to her. Her Grandmother treasured family ties and have been writing to them consistantly even though they have moved out. At times, she will also deliver money and gifts to them when they need it.

To bring such a big crowd into their Mansion took a lot of collaboration and administration. This reuinion brought some to tear. Tears of happiness and tears of sadness for the lost of a relative, namely Grandmother Shen.

An Fei walked towards an elderly lady who is more than 70 years old. She is the older sister of Grandmother Shen. Seeing her there gave An Fei a sense of comfort.

"GrandAunt LiLi? I am Fei Fei, I visited your house with Grandmother 2 years ago. Do you still remember me?"

"Fei Fei, of course I remember you. I'm so sorry that I was not able to come for the funeral and you had to settle it all on your own. I can't believe my little sister is gone just like this. I spoke to her on the phone just 2 days before she passed and she even asked people to bring my some tonics. I should have asked them to bring it back form her instead."

"You don't have to feel guilty GrandAunt. It was already time. We know this was coming when we visited you. We just didn't know that it would be earlier than the Doctor's estimation. I see that you and your family have your luggages with you. Have you guys found a place to stay? How long will you be here?"

"We were thinking of coming here and staying for the night and bring the young ones out to explore the city. We have a friend that had offered to let us stay with their family."

"Where is it located? Shall I arrange for someone to drive you guys over?"

"It will be too troublesome. There is no need to. We can take the public transport over. There is so many of us, the public transport would be best for us all."

"No. That can't do. How about staying at my apartment? I have just moved back to stay with Grandfather and that place is just empty sitting there. Let me arrange it all for all of you. The apartment is big enough for everyone. I don't take No as an answer. After this whole thing ends I will accompany you and your family over. That place is near to a lot of tourist attraction. So it is better. Xiao Ling call that friend and tell him or her that you guys are staying with a relative."

"Don't go bossing my children Fei Fei. You know they are older than you."

"You guys are in my house how can I hold back being bossy? I'll call a friend to arrange for transport and we will go out for lunch before we head over. Just wait for me and I will bring everyone over. By the way, where is GrandAunt Susu? Is GrandUncle Wei's children also coming?"

As she was talking, Pamela was already arranging the transport and a tour bus has been arranged and is scheduled to reached the Mansion's gates in a couple of hours. Pamela have also arranged to book a restaurant big enough for 20 to 30 that is not too shabby or high class that everyone might be intimidated.

"Big Sister, Pam here, the restaurant and bus has been arranged to arrive in 2 hours time. The cleaners have also been dispatched to your old apartment on Hill Street and coincidentally the apartment next to yours is currently vacant. The landlord have also agreed to renting that to you for a week."

Hearing this, An Fei did not acknowledge this but the people that she was asking for came over and the atmospher became more and more lively.
