Chapter 31 - The First Part

"I would like your attention Ladies and Gentlemen."

Standing in front of the crowd, Lawyer Fu was standing with a white screen at his back. on his right, sitting behind a laptop was his assistant who had been there to set up the projector. He address the crowd that is in front of him, ignoring the segregation.

"Thank you all for coming. I do agree that the reading has been dragged for a while now. Without further delays, we will be playing the video recording done in the presence of my team and I, a recording of Old Madam Shen-An Qi's Will and last wished."

Walking over to his assistant. the lights were dimmed and the video started playing with Old Madam Shen sitting on her home office with the view of the garden behind her. In her sixties she still looks like a fifty year old. One can say this old lady never aged and her looks has been preserved even though time has passed.

Her aura was felt through the videos straight into An Fei's heart. Holding her GrandAunt Susu's hand, silent tears started falling. The grief of the lost was evident not only in her but also the family around her.

"Thank you everyone for coming in today. I know this is a very big and troublesome issue here. I would like to inform everyone that this is to compile with the decision and wishes of my father-in-law Shen Yun.

"He and I shared the same sentiments and we are both worried about the possibility of our offsprings being unable to hold on to the  wealth of our family because they have been so used to the money just being there.  We both have decided during the last few years of his days with us that we will not be leaving every thing to any sole individual neither are we going to forget our roots. Thus, the arrangements for our distant relatives to be here. I am thankful to everyone that had made the time and effort to be here.

"First things first, I would like to inform all my children that there are about 8 properties all over the county that is under me and my husband. Due to my departual, the properties would have their new owner's names stated on the documents that Lawyer Fu and his team will be giving out. Each and everyone of my sons will be given one property that is of equal value. For An Fei, your father is not around, the property will go to you instead.

"Next, the main house will remain under my husband's name and it shall not be changed until the day that he has passed on and will be given to the ones stated in his will. This I will leave him to decide when the time comes.

"Lawyer Fu, please proceed with the paper work."

With this, the video was paused and the documents were distributed out to the relavent parties for their review.

"What about the remaining properties?" An Fei's first uncle, Shen Hao spoke up.

"It will be informed in the next section of the video. Old Master Shen, Young Masters Shen and Miss An, please review the documents on hand and let us have it back to exchange for the title  deeds of each property by the end of the session."

After speaking, Lawyer Fu went back to the laptop and resumed the video.

"Everyone will be wondering what is going to happen with the rest of the properties by now. My old man and I have decided to sell all the rest of the properties to whoever that would like to purchase them. Of course we would give priority to family. Everyone is given the next few days to look at the properties and to make the payment in full for the properties that they want with a 30% discount.

"If the properties are not sold by the end of the week, they will all be sold to Ji Li Investment Firm and the money will be given in equal portions to everyone in this room at this moment. Be it that you are our direct family member or distant cousin, the money will be sent to your accounts by the end of next week.

"There is no extension allowed for the purchase of the properties, anyone that would like, can go ahead and speak to Lawyer Fu and his team in regards to this matter. I will leave the details all to Lawyer Fu and his team.

"Before I speak about the company and its shares that are under my name, I would like to address the distant relatives that have travelled a long way to meet everyone. Thank you all for coming again. I know Sister Lili and Sister Susu might be crying now. Please know that I am happy now. Even though on today that I am doing this recording I am not sure where I am but I'm sure I am happier without any more burdens or pain.

"I would like to leave all of you the money that I have saved up over the years amounting to $4 million plus intrest in cash. The money is currently with Lawyer Fu and his team. Everyone will be issued a cheque under your name and Lawyer Fu will be arranging this for everyone of you in a moment. It should amount to at least $100,000 for each one of you present on top of the money that is coming from the sales of the properties.

"Please listen to Lawyer Fu's instructions later so that we can set up everything for everyone before you leave this house.

"Now to cut the long delay. Let me cut it all short and tell everyone what my family is most interested in which is about the company. Now I would like to invite my direct decendants and their children to move on to the next room while Lawyer Fu's team proceed with the verification of the distant relatives.

"I hope everyone can take their share and put it to good use. Don't feel guilty about taking this money. This is all part of what Father in law wanted to give to everyone. I am just doing this a bit more dramatically instead.

"With this, I would like to bid my sisters, brothers and families goodbye. May the blessings of the Goddess of Mercy be with everyone of you granting you wealth and good health."
