Chapter 36 - Another Stare Down

"Feng Feng, do you have a problem with me talking to myself?"

"No, but I was thinking what you were doing staring at your phone and talking to yourself. Are you like mentally ill or something? I read somewhere before that people that had experienced trauma before might be mentally weaken and are more prone to be mentally ill. So are you willing to be my next test subject?"

"Hell. What the hell goes on in that little brain of yours. Don't you love me? Ain't I your favourite in the family? Why do you constantly think of using the people around you to get more information to feed your curiousity? How could you do this to me?"

"What were you looking at? Show me and I might reconsider. Is that your new boyfriend on the other line or that Otaku that is currently overseas?"

"Not gonna happen baby Feng, Not gonna fall into your trap. It is call privacy. Have you heard of that before, baby Feng?"

"Why do you always stoop so low when it comes to fighting with me? You know you can never win. Calling me baby to irritate me is so over-rated now. So why don't you show me so that I can show you what Brother Xin got?"

Looking at her phone, An Fei remembered what Pam told her before leaving Galore's building that she can message instructions to Pam if she needs to do it descreedly. She typed and send a message to Pam immediately after Shen Jun Feng said those words.

"Pam, tell me what was stated in the note to Xin."

"Big Sister, you are wonderful. How did you know I am aware of the contents of the message. Well...."

As Pam told her what she needed to know, she was staring at the little boy in front of her and he was staring back with his arms crossed. Seeing the both of them like this, Chen Xin was amused and just stood there waiting for the scene to unfold.

After staring for a while, An Fei broke the silence.

"What gave you the idea that I might not know the contents of the note?"

"Don't try to scam me into believing that you know what is stated in there. I know your relationship with Great Grandmother is good but she still hold things back from you once in a while. So I am very sure that since this is part of his privacy, she would not have told you anything."

"Logically speaking you are correct. Well, now you are dealing with me, do you think I would not have guessed it? I know it has something to do with the painting and an auction held a number of years back and something to do with another storage room. So what more do I need to know from you?"

"How sure are you that you are right? There could be another fortune there on that paper. Are you really not interested? It could also be talking about a certain person that no one had been willing to talk about. The cousin that everyone is not talking about, I wonder what is the true story behind it all. Hmmm... I was only 7 when she left. I bet if I spend more time digging up my past memory I might be able to remember something about that."

Hearing this, An Fei who had previously thrown on an expressionless look on her face was about to break. She was not very interested in playing with this kid anymore.

"I wonder if you really can. I highly doubt you sometimes. Being a kid can be so tough. Especially one with secrets that the rest of the family can't know of. I wonder what will happen if I suddenly remember what happened 2 years ago in September. No wonder the song "Wake Me Up When September Ends" keep coming up in my mind recently."
