New Party Members

"Leo!" Daryl shouted as he saw the prince coming out of the palace in his direction.

He had been standing across the street waiting for the prince to come out. When he saw the prince head inside earlier he had felt things would end up heading in this direction since he had used Bredret to get a head start for the palace before prince Leo had arrived. Daryl was good at making connections with people so gaining information from all angles was an easy thing for him. Daryl just being himself naturally caused him to easily gain allies all over the place throughout the kingdom.

"What are you doing here?" Leo was not in the mood to argue with Daryl.

"I figured you'd need help considering what's been going down in the palace. Do not think that word does not get around when it comes to my line of work, crown prince, Leo."

Daryl glanced around then his eyes landed on Vorbuk who was keeping calm behind Leo. The wolf looked like it was on guard against the palace as he kept his ears perked up and kept stealing glances at the palace. Daryl grabbed the prince by the arm and pulled him into the ally out of sight from people and the palace. The wolf quickly darted along with them.

"Who are these people?" Leo glanced at the few people that were standing in the ally with them in silence.

"We're you're new party!" a young woman smiled at Leo and raised her pointer finger to point at herself.

The girl seemed to be a half beast half human. She had cat ears and a tail and her hair was medium length and brown in color while her eyes were bright green and like that of a feline. He could see her ear twitching nervously while she spoke to him.

"Is this a joke?" Leo sighed.

"No! I may be an adventurer, but I am a warrior as well! This kingdom is collapsing and, Leo, you're the only one left who can fix this damn place before we're all dragged down with it! Those of us here are willing to help you fix it. I already sent one fool out to the battle field while I waited for you to arrive. He manage to calm the field, temporarily! But that wont help the root of the problem."

"Why do you look familiar?" Leo glared at the man that Daryl was pointing at. The man's golden eyes were sharp as they glared back at Leo.

"Fool! Can't even remember the one who told you stories as a child!" The man scoffed and looked away from Leo.

"Bre....Bredret?!" Leo jumped in surprise to see the dragon he had met when he was a mere child. He had met Bredret when his father took him to visit Princess Celeste and her father in their home kingdom.

"Yes." Bredret smiled with pride as he held his head high. Being a dragon his pride in himself was something that was hard for him to control at times. His beautiful beloved Celeste slowly floated around him and hugged herself against his body and smiled over at Leo as the young prince looked at them both with shock and confusion.

"I do not get why a dragon would get involved with our kingdoms problems, though!" Leo shook his head in disbelief.

"He had a bit of a push after I suggested it to him and Celeste." Daryl smiled with a chuckle.

Celeste smirked with determination as she clenched her fists tight at her chest level as if she was ready to fight with all her might. The site of it made the dragon look away embarrassed at the thought of being caught obeying Celeste to help them.

"whooosh!" The cat girl made a whip sound towards the dragon and laughed at him.

"She's called Zoe!" Daryl gestured to the cat girl.

"Yup!" She smiled and waved playfully.

"We're all your group for now, but I got others that can help us around the kingdom if we come across the need for it later. Everyone here has their own specialty areas." Daryl thought for a moment then cleared his throat.

"Oh, really?" Leo looked at Zoe with confusion as he tried to guess what her skill could remotely be, but nothing could come to mind. She looked young and didn't look like she had any major abilities on her skills when Leo peeked at her stats using his own ability.

"Do not under estimate her even though she looks innocent, Leo." Daryl could see the skepticism on Leo and tried to warn him ahead of time. He had no intention to spoil Zoe's abilities, but he knew that he should warn the prince ahead of time. The cat girl was not as simple as she looked and that was something that could shock people sometimes when they angered her.

"Alright, fine. I don't know where we should start though. Any suggestions?" Leo glared at Daryl for answers on what he expected from him.

If it meant saying his home from what was becoming of it then he would be willing to try and help the kingdom. He still did not feel like he was fit to become king, but helping on the side was not that big of a deal to him. Being the ruler and having power was not something he had in mind. The lives of those he loved and cared for was what he felt mattered. For the life of those around him he was willing to drop everything if he had to.

The only thing that he was not sure about was Vorbuk. The wolf merely wanted to travel and learn things around the world. If he took to fighting for his kingdom and family he was not sure what the beast would want to do in the end. His eyes slowly wandered over to glance at the wolf to see how it was reacting to the situation and only saw the wolf standing there.

Vorbuk was standing as still as a statue as his eyes studied all the people in front of him. He could sense the worry in the crown prince's eyes as the prince looked at him. A part of him wanted to turn and leave as things were starting to get complicated, but as he thought about it for a moment there was also a part of him that called out to him from deep inside his soul. It was like a voice that was pushing him to stay with Leo and Daryl and warning him that they would need him when the time came.

What is this feeling? He thought to himself as he sighed inwardly as he tried to figure himself out. It was like there was a strong instinct driving him forward in that moment as he sat down and kept his gaze on them all. As he sat down a strong feeling of peacefulness swept over him like a wave causing his eyes to glitter a soft red glow for a moment before fading away.
